From the Governor A Thank You Message From Your Governor I want to thank everyone for their confidence and support to finish out the term of 2013-2014 as your Governor.

2 From the Governor A Thank You Message From Your Governor I want to thank everyone for their confidence and support to finish out the term of as your Governor. The plan is to have more events and hopefully more participation from you the Membership to make each function better than the last one and be attended by more & more members insuring our success and ability to remain available part of the community. Able to provide services where needed. We were a Staging Location for Cal-Fire during the Rim Fire, and last winter we were a warming station for the Red Cross. We are and hope to remain a vital part of the community. If you missed the Pig Roast that was held on , you missed a good one. We had a crew from Ebbetts Pass Lodge, District 8 President, Josh Heller and wife Cindy roasting the pig with several members helping and encouraging the progress, with Patty Miller and Jan Duke heading up the kitchen staff. We had great door and raffle prizes. Ticket sales and drawing by Myrna Nordstrom. Jeff Timm going every which way to help where and when needed as usual. We have many more events planned for the balance of the calendar year, including but not limited to Thanksgiving dinner at the Lodge (annual event), Danny's Mexican Dinner, WOTM holiday bazaar, New Years Eve Prime Rib Dinner, Annual Crab Feed also run by Danny Ortega, Valentine s Day Prime Rib Dinner with live music. 3 Shuffle Board News On October 19, 2013, we conducted our monthly Shuffle Board tournament, with a turnout of 18players (9 teams) it was a double elimination, 11 points per game, We started at noon and concluded at 4:45pm. The results are: 1 st Place Gretchen Gragg & Pat Murray 2 nd Place-- Kathi Stillwell & John Proch 3 rd Place Barbara Bray & Dave Foster Our next monthly tournament will be held on November HIGH NOON A sign up sheet is posted in the Social Quarters. The fee to play is $6 Special Message #1 As of October 2013, we have a total of 12 qualified monthly players for the year ending Winner Take ALL Tournament and 8 alternative openings, which will be filled by total points scored for the year. To be eligible to participate in the WTA Tournament you must have played in at least one monthly Tournament. #2 As of October 2013, we have had a total of 212 monthly regular tournament players. John Proch Chairman Thank You for Your Continued Support The September Pool News The monthly pool Tournament took place on October 12th Results pending further investigation, too close to call Saturday November 9th will be the next pool Tournament, starting at 1pm. A 3 Ball Tournament will be held on the last Saturday of the month Pool Gals Ladies Pool is played every Thursday here at the Noon : A pot luck is usually in order. Talk to Teddy Guillotte if interested, join in the fun. Goodness how time flies when you are having fun! We unfortunately had to drape the Charter for our departed sister, Judy Gregory. She will be missed. Thanks to all of you that helped with the food either by donating or helping in the Kitchen. The Gregory family has sent their thanks to all of you. The Health Fair was also well attended and once again the Women volunteered their time and sent baked goods to give to the people that visited the Fair. I know that for those of you that worked the days were long and the nights short to those that worked. Great Job Marcie and Marsha, for coordinating the Women and Thanks to everyone for all your help. Our Activity Meeting on November 6 th has been changed to Sunday, the 3 rd of Nov. It is the College of Regents meeting. Kathy Jones will be getting her Red Stole and there will be a tribute to Judy Gregory. The meeting will begin at 1PM and their will be a Pot Luck and raffle to follow. Hopefully you will able to attend, other Chapters have been invited as well. It would be great to see many of you that are unable to travel to our meetings at night. We are having a bazaar in the Dining Room on Friday the 15 th from 1PM-7PM, Saturday from 11AM-4PM, and Sunday the 17 th from 9A-11A. If you would like to donate any baked goods, canned goods, homemade items or even items that are new but you can t use them, and want to donate them please notify Eileen Andrews. Marsha Shipper, for personal reasons has resigned from her office as Recorder. She will be sadly missed by the Board, however, is going to continue to cook, when able, for the Legion and we will continue to see her at the Lodge. Hope all of you have a great month of November! We need your help to keep our membership up and continue to grow. We are also planning more fun events and have plans to get some improvements on the Lodge itself.
