1 We're so excited to kick off the 2018 season with you! This packet has info about band camp, the season, our section, and our leadership team!

2 The time to start preparing for band camp is NOW! Please read through all attatched materials and start familiarizing yourself with the music enclosed! The more we have under our fingers before we get to camp, the more efficient we'll be! NEW MEMBERS: This might seem like an overwhelming amount of music to memorize- don't worry! Just work on what you can, and we'll pick it up at camp! RETURNING MEMBERS: While you've already played a lot of this music, please take the time to review your parts and get a jump start on show music! WE NOW HAVE A WEBSITE! Check it out: This website will provide info about the section and the season and will also be a great resource for MRD files (including a PDF of this packet) throughout the year!

8 "When it rains, we get wet!" The MRD's rehearse and perform in a variety of weather conditions. We STRONGLY encourage you bring thin/thick layers that will fit underneath a standard marching uniform for game days, in addition to warm clothes (hats, mittens, scarves, etc.) for rehearsals. The MRD's do not stop for rain, so we advise you to also bring rain gear for rehearsals! ^ we use a drill reading app in rehearsals (Uniform rain jackets provided at games)

9 "No wool, bring more pairs of athletic stuff than you think you need cause u stank" "But actually, don't wear dumb shoes. Wear athletic shoes plz" "Do NOT drink milk during breakfast on a hot day" "if you don t accidentally fart during the quadruple forte in salvation is created, you re not trying hard enough" BOTTOM SPLIT 4TH IS THE BEST PART "Bring a pencil or two for your music. And enjoy those long walks if you re living on east campus (it takes min just to get to the stadium)" "Don t eat a whole lot of junk/ heavy food at meals, especially at lunch and when we are about to go into the stadium in the heat for drill" "Hydrate before you die-drate. Wear sunscreen or you will second degree burns" "Dont look directly into the eclipse!" "Hydrate, BRING SUNGLASSES, wear sunscreen, be ready for hard work but fun! Do your best to keep a positive attitude through the heat and have a blast in the MRDs!" "Don't forget your trumpet before a trip" "Make sure you own a pair of marching shoes before the day you need them" "3 words... (HINT: We'll work on memorizing the fight song on our first day of camp!) - Reach out to section leaders with any questions! - Mark ALL MRD events into your calendars (rehearsals, games, etc.)! Notify a section leader and/or staff with any immediate conflicts.
