1 Harvest Holiday Volume 51, Issue 2 harvestholiday.com February 2011 NOTES FROM OUR CHAIR We were able to donate $714 to CASUL- Many thanks to everyone for making this Fund Raiser a big success! The latest update to Swingtime done by CASUL is new carpeting. They also have several future renovations planned. We are looking for a few volunteers for Harvest Holiday. Open positions are secretary, Decorations, and Sunday Morning Coffee. Also please sign up for door, coffee and clean up for future Sunday Fun dances. Our next dance on Sunday, February 13 will also be a meeting at 1:00 due to our cancellation in January. I will apologize for the confusion and late cancellation on the January 9th dance. There were only light flurries here when we left home, but we ran into very heavy snow south of the airport and received info that many people, especially those who had to travel further, were not going. Speaking of cancellations, the Mardi Gras Magic festival in Houston on February 4 and 5 was cancelled. Thanks to some good luck, there will be a dance in Houston with Curt and Tammy Worlock in the same hall and same host hotel. The new date is April 4 and 5. Also Mark and Pam Prow said that there are now openings for 4 or 5 couples. See You on the Dance Floor, Leo & Lorraine Gonya I NSIDE T HIS I SSUE 2 Dance Recap 3 Club Reports 4 Misc., including Alice s Apple Cake Recipe Harvest Holiday Festival Contributed by Bill Rackley Spotlight Our Winter Fun Rounds Special/ Fundraiser Dance for Swingtime Center (CASUL) on January 23rd, was a huge success. Thanks to the 96+ round dancers and 6 cuers in attendance that made the fundraiser a success. WOW...$714 was raised and donated to CASUL. A Special Thank You to Christine and Theron Hixson (host), JL and Linda Pelton, Jack and Ann von der Heide, Chris and Maria Farabaugh, John and Eula Brewer and Charles and Tanya Crockett that attended and cued for our dancing enjoyment. Our door prize winners were Dee Mireau and Leo Zofrea. A Big Thank You to Christine and Theron and their committee, plus all the Harvest Holiday members that provided the refreshments. 1
