Only select students will be eligible to compete at this tournament. *** JV Novice State is only for novice or JV members that compete in Lincoln-Douglas or Public Forum. Team members competing in congress or in Varsity LD & PF will compete at St. Paul Academy 4

5 **** Competing in this tournament may qualify you for the national tournament in June, only for Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas. Only select students will have the opportunity to compete at this tournament. Other team members will have this weekend off. *****The MSHSL State Qualifier tournament is to qualify for the state tournament. Only select students will be eligible to participate in this tournament. Those that qualify at this tournament will be able to compete at the MSHSL State Tournament. All tournaments are subject to change. Tournaments may also be added to the schedule or removed from schedule in certain circumstances. 5

The information on this form is correct to the best of my ability, and I commit to the responsibilities of being a team member. This means I commit to working on cases/speeches at home, attending practices, and competing at tournaments. I also commit to cooperating and communicating with my coaches, teammates, and parents to have a successful Debate season. I understand that if I do not fulfill these obligations as a Debate Team Member, I may not be eligible for competition and membership in the future. By signing, I also agree to pay the student activities fee of which is available to pay on the following website, and is due by September 30th: Additionally, if my daughter/son is not already a member of the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) I agree to pay the $25 lifetime membership fee. Checks for the membership fee to NSDA can be made out to CHS Debate and is due by September 30th. I also understand that should my daughter/son become eligible for a traveling tournament, additional costs might be associated with that travel (ie: Glenbrooks in Chicago, Illinois). Additional permission forms will be required for out-oftown travel.
