4 Get Up and Move Day! When: Wednesday, November 21 st Where: In the classrooms Why: Because it s National Juke Box Day and it s FUN!!! What is Get Up and Move Day : During the day, (at random) music will be played over the intercom and when the kids hear the music they can get up out of their seats and Dance!!!! Getting up out of your seat has been proven to help energize you during the day, increase your memory and help you sleep better at night. The students need to act appropriately or their teacher may ask them to sit and they will not be allowed to participate the rest of the school day. HSA Sponsored Event

5 NEW ALTAR SERVER TRAINING New altar server training will take place on Saturday, November 17th from 12:30 noon - 2:00 p.m. in St. Jane Church. Catholic students in 5th grade and higher grades through high school are eligible. To register, call the parish office at

6 SAINT JANE S 2019 CUP STACKING CLUB Dear Parents: The students have participated in cup stacking in Physical Education class. The Cup Stacking Club for students in grades 1 to 8 (plus kindergarten students who have an older sibling in Cup Club are welcome) will focus on the next level, which is competition. (Or just to learn and have fun) The Club will meet from 2:00 to 3:00 in the GYM on the following TUESDAYS: January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 5, 12, (Dates can change) First time club members should not miss because of the learning progressions. Students can borrow the PE cups until they purchase their own. Students must have: 1. Their own cups. THIS IS MANDATORY. NEED TO PRACTICE AT HOME 2. A ride home at 3:00 (please be prompt) Students will be sent to aftercare if they have not been picked up by 3:15 and parents will be billed for aftercare including the registration fee if they are not already enrolled) 3. A mat and timer for practice. Need to be able to stack in a specific area. 4. The desire to learn the cup stacking rules, the correct patterns and to practice them. 5. The goal is competing in the cup stacking tournament on MARCH 23 rd at Palisades Middle School in Kintnersville, Pa. (tournament director Mr. McGarvey) 6. Any parent who would be interested in being a judge at the tournament please let me know. 7. Return bottom portion to Mr. McGarvey by December 21, 2018 or ASAP 8. Any student who does not behave appropriately during Cup Club will be dismissed from the club. 7 St. Jane Frances de Chantal School A Catholic tradition in Academic Excellence 1900 Washington Blvd., Easton, PA principal@stjaneschool.com Dear Parent, On Monday November 19, 2018, we will be doing our annual outreach project for Thanksgiving. Each grade will be assigned certain fruit or other items to bring to school. We are asking the children to bring fruit, crackers and hard candies to school, along with baskets, if you have any, to make fruit baskets for our parish shut-ins. (If you have baskets, please send them to school ASAP, so I can get a count.) Also, if you have any ribbon (one inch wide) for bows, we would appreciate that, too! The fruit can be sent to school on Monday, November 20th. There are 45 shut-ins in our parish. We would like to put the baskets together and deliver them that same day, if possible. If you have any names of people you would like us to make and deliver a basket to, please let me know. If you would like to help us in either making up the baskets or with the delivery, please come and join us in the Conference Center at 8:00 a.m. Any of that time you can volunteer would be greatly appreciated. We will need help, especially with delivering the baskets. You can easily make it a little Thanksgiving "project" for your child, walking to the shut-ins doors and giving them the basket. Be assured the people appreciate seeing the children more than words can say. It truly brightens their day. We also deliver to the local Nursing homes and police/fire stations. Includes unlimited pancakes, butter, syrup, sausage links, and your choice of coffee, tea, orange juice, or soda. Tickets will be reserved based on the order of receipt of this completed registration form. So please be sure to register early to guarantee your admittance to the event. Applebee s limits participation to up to 300 guests. Tickets will be distributed to students in school on Friday, November 30 th. Please remember to bring the ticket with you to Applebee s and hand it in when you check in at the host stand. 9 BREAKFAST WITH SANTA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS!!! ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AS Greeters stationed at the host stand to help with check-in process and taking tickets Kitchen help in the kitchen area to assemble plates and monitor beverages Supervisors check on guests at tables and meet any needs as they arise 7 TH OR 8 TH GRADE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AS Servers seat guests, drop off silverware, take drink orders, and serve plates of food Clean-up Crew clear tables and wipe them down after guests are finished Breakfast with Santa will take place on December 1, 2018 at Applebee s on 248 in Easton (3702 Easton- Nazareth Highway) from 8-10AM. Volunteers will need to arrive at 7:30AM for instructions from Applebee s staff. This is a fun way for students to get in their service hours and we ll have a great group of adults helping to run this event! Questions? Your child s safety is always our number one concern. It is very important that we know how to send your child home when these situations occur.
