1 TO THE POINTE Thoughts and Prayers EPPOA Board Of Directors News & Notes Both the calendar and the rising thermometer confirm that it is now April. The official season at EP is about to end for another year and what a great season it has been! Thanks to our many volunteers, the park is looking better than ever and the calendar has been packed with fun-filled activities each month. Some EP residents have already arrived back at their northern destinations and undoubtedly many more will be traveling in the next week or two. Safe travels and best wishes for an enjoyable summer to all! Our sincere sympathies are extended to Bev & Bob Kilby and their family on the recent passing of Bev s mother, June Malicki If you become aware of EP residents in need of our prayers over the summer, please post to the Facebook Group or lynnbugden@gmail.com Happy Anniversary! To Jacob & Geraldine Sock, on the occasion of their 50 th and to Dave & Monique Walker on their 40 th Congratulations! Not to belabor the point.but please remember that the combination of summer heat and lots of rain makes the weeds grow at an unbelievable rate here in Florida. All lots will need some attention to stay presentable. If you won t be here and haven t yet made arrangements for your lot to be looked after, it s time to handle that responsibility. If you will be staying at EP beyond April 15 or if you drop in for a stay any time during the off-season, be advised that weekly coffee meetings will be held on Saturday mornings at 9:00 am instead of on Mondays. The first one will be on Saturday, April 22. Come out, bring your own coffee, enjoy the camaraderie and keep informed as plans for summer activities get developed. The pace over the summer for those of us staying will be a bit more relaxed, as is fitting for the sultry weather. But make no mistake the need to maintain the park and respond to issues as they arise with services and infrastructure is really a year-round endeavor. Luckily the EP spirit of volunteerism continues through the summer with many residents pitching in as needed. Rich Frascone will once again be our summer site boss and will work closely with myself and our volunteers to keep things humming. A final note: Our EP Facebook Group has proven to be an easy and effective way to stay in touch with one another and, especially in the summer, with what is going on at EP. If you haven t yet joined, I urge you to consider it! Rich Grega, President, EPPOA

2 Welcome New Owners! Please make sure the EPPOA OFFICE has your correct contact information so that you can be reached immediately in the event of an emergency while you are absent from the park. Updates may be sent to eppoa@yahoo.com. ALSO..please remember to fill out an OFFICIAL MAIL FORWARDING CHANGE OF ADDRESS ORDER for the USPS, available in the Change of Address binder in the Library. Leave the form in your mailbox. The mail carrier has personally requested that you also leave a separate note which states your EP address, name(s), and date of departure. Rich Frascone is responsible for the co-ordination of property Sales and Rentals during the summer months. Any additions, deletions or changes you wish to make to Emerald Pointe s Sales and Rental Listings should be ed to Rich at rfrascone@aol.com. A reminder that a yearly fee of $25.00 is required to advertise your property on the Sales/Rental Listings. The last Open House of the season will be April 5.

3 A heads-up playoff tournament on March 27, 2017 concluded this year s week billiard league. The 16 players were divided into 4 groups of four, with prizes for each. The winners of each group played off in a best 3 of 5 games until there were only two people left for the final best 4 of 7 games final playoff. This year s overall winner, Gerald Landry, will have his name engraved on the plaque and has earned full bragging rights for the year! Eric Fisher definitely deserves an Honorable Mention as he was not only the winner in Flight Four but also defeated the winners of Flight Three only to be defeated all night by the top player of the year - Gerald Landry. All matches where very close, going the full 3/5 level to determine each winner. I hope fun was had by all and look forward to 2018 being an equally fun season of 8-Ball Billiards. There is a signup sheet in the Billiard Room for 2018!!!! Winston Brown, Chair, EP Billiards The Emerald Pointe community is very sad to be saying goodbye to one of its earliest residents. Ogie Megie, you are loved and will be missed beyond words. Your EP family wishes you all the very best in the years to come! The Social Committee is excited about all the new entertainment in store for next season! Starting off in November we ll be having our first dance bring your Cowboy hat and boots! We have a really good dance band coming for New Years, so please make plans to attend. In January, we have the Eric Kearns Voices of Legends show that will keep you very entertained. On February 17 th, we will be having a Valentine Dance with the Mark and Miller Band. In March, two events are planned.a really great comedian by the name of Rick Star will keep you laughing out loud and a band called The Mustangs will be playing at our last dance on March 24 th. Bring your dancing shoes and plan on having a lot of fun! We will also continue to have all our traditional events such as the Spud Party, Spaghetti Dinner, EP Downs, Quilt & Craft Show, Brunches, Bingo, Ice Cream Socials and of course, Card Games through the week. The Committee has worked hard to have something for everyone, so please come out and enjoy. If you would like to have something put on the calendar for next year, please don t hesitate to me at Tynacep@yahoo.com Looking forward to seeing you at one or ALL of our events next year! Tyna Conley, Director, EPPOA
