1 South Georgia AllStar Cheer Information Packet Thank you for your interest in the South Georgia Elite Cheer family! Elite was formed by Camden Gymnastics and Golden Isles Gymnastics Owner, Yuri Kalinin. He had a vision to offer this additional service to his gymnasts who were interested in exploring the sport of cheer. He has expanded this vision into a program to prepare gymnasts and cheerleaders for school and collegiate level cheer. At Elite you will find coaches dedicated to creating a positive learning environment and fostering correct technical development of all skills. Although our tumble is taught in the cheer progression, we follow gymnastics level technical instruction. The results are clean, safe and confident tumble that is unsurpassed in South Georgia. Each team has a coach who has been coaching the sport of cheer for an average of 10+ years to keep safety in check and fundamentals clean. Our gym and coaches are proud members of the USASF and adhere to their standards of training and coaching certification requirements. Our balance of USASF certified coaches and alumni coaching staff keeps the practices fun while still providing the structure and focus necessary to keep our athletes safe and progressing at every practice. Our athletes development is our BIGGEST win! With facilities in Kingsland, GA at the Camden Gymnastics facility and the state of the art Golden Isles Gymnastics Facility in Brunswick, GA, your athlete is sure to find the right combination of classes and/or teams! 2 TEAM PLACEMENTS Immediately following tryouts in August, each member will be placed on a team. Regardless of what team you are placed on, we believe it is important to stress Excellence At All Levels. We take great pride in all of our squads, no matter the level, so we place kids according to where they will best perform, ultimately to result in successful teams. We are taking registration for ALL LEVELS at this time and will make the final determination on team levels according to enrollment and team size. While age is the primary indicator for our team placements, we also take into account skill levels, maturity, and work ethic. We expect cheerleaders and their parents to support our decisions on team placements. We believe an individual will excel and be most happy when placed on a team that compliments both their skill level and maturity level. Our ultimate goal is to create teams that are well-balanced in all technical areas of cheerleading, and provide members the best possible chance of success, both as a team and as individuals. PRACTICES Most teams will practice twice a week, with additional practices to be announced as necessary. All team practices are MANDATORY. The following schedule is an example of what practice schedules will look like. Final schedules will be announced following tryouts. Seniors 7-9pm Monday and Wednesday 8-9pm Tuesday and Thursday (tumble only) Juniors 6-8pm Monday and Wednesday 8-9pm Tuesday and Thursday (tumble only) Youth 8-11am Saturday 7-8pm Tuesday and Thursday (tumble only) ATTENDANCE Competition team members are allowed minimal absences due to illness, family emergencies, trips, etc when pre-arranged. If you are sick, you are expected to call prior to the practice you are missing. Telling a fellow team member you will be gone is not acceptable. Unexcused absences and tardiness will warrant penalties. Any member missing 2 consecutive practices or 4 non-consecutive practices in a three month period, without making arrangements in advance will be subject to removal from the team and charged a $300 processing fee for removal. We encourage the athletes to continue to be involved in school cheerleading, athletic sports, and rec programs; however when choosing these activities please keep in mind the competition season gets in full swing in January. January through April there will be 1-2 competitions each month. Competitions are on Saturdays or Sundays and attendance at competitions is MANDATORY. Please keep this in mind when committing to other activities that may require

3 weekend availability. Absences for school practices or games during the week will be excused as long as they do not conflict with competitions. ATTITUDE ALL MEMBERS MUST DISPLAY A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AT ALL TIMES. We will pride ourselves in practicing positive support for our teams and all others, and we expect our members and their families to uphold that same philosophy. Everyone has a bad day at times, but we want our gym to be the place you come to get away from negativity. Negative attitudes and disrespect are not acceptable from anyone (cheerleader, coach or parent), and will be considered grounds for suspension or dismissal if the negativity persists. We cheer for our own teams as well as our competitors at every competition, every time. Of course, we want to bring home the trophy, but it s more important that we leave the competition knowing that we did our best and supported every team out there, regardless of who wins. Work ethic is crucial for our teams, and it is expected that you will come to practice ready to cheer and willing to give whatever your team needs. Sometimes you will be asked to perform in positions you don t normally do or particularly enjoy. It is during these times that your true character is being tested, and we hope that you will take that opportunity to shine. Coaches reserve the right to remove anyone from the team who does not display the work ethic, discipline and respect necessary to be on our highly successful squads. TUITION & FEES Our annual team fees are broken up over an 11 month period, thus fees are due each month, regardless of whether you are attending practice. There will be no pro-rating for gym closures, missed practices or vacations. You are welcome to mail your payment to the gym or drop it off during a practice. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is late after the 5th. There will be a $20 late fee assessed for payments made after the 5th of each month, even if payment arrangements have been made. There will be three payment options for your budgeting convenience. Each option includes USASF registration fees, tuition, team tumble classes, uniform, bow, choreography fees, competition entry fees and coaches travel compensation. It DOES NOT include athlete travel expenses, shoes, or optional practice uniforms. The flex payment structure is as follows: June July August-November December-April $120/month $357/month $120/month

4 The Upfront Full Payment is as follows: One time payment - $2140 PAYMENT OF TUITION AND FEES All team members will be required to have a valid credit card or debit card on file. Your card will not be charged unless your account becomes 30 days past due, or unless you authorize us to automatically withdraw from your account each month. Each member will be required to complete a credit card authorization form prior to joining the team. If you do not have a personal credit card, we encourage you to find someone else (family member or friend) who is willing to offer that up for you. By joining our team, you are agreeing to make the full season commitment, which runs from June 1st to April 30th. If you feel the need to leave our program for any reason, including injuries, family emergencies, illnesses, or change of heart, you are required to pay the balance of the amount owed until a replacement is found and signed with the program (military exclusions with supporting documentation apply). If a team member becomes injured, they are still considered a member of the team. Just because a football player breaks his leg, doesn t mean he is no longer part of the team he sits on the bench and waits for it to heal so he can return to play. The same holds true for cheerleaders. If a team member sustains an injury, they are still considered a member of the team, thus should attend all practices and competitions, and pay all fees. They will not be guaranteed the same exact spot when they return to full practices, but we will do our best to keep them in their position, assuming they will still be able to fulfill the requirements. Athletes that are injured during competition season must continue to pay 50% tuition if they intend to return for the season. If this occurs during competition season, their temporary replacement must pay the other 50% of their fees. We will relieve injured team members of their contract if a doctor provides a written note stating they will not be healed by the end of the season. If you are asked to leave the program because you have broken a rule or policy, you will be required to pay an administrative fee of $300 and will not be given refunds on monies you have already paid, including nationals, uniforms, choreography, or any other fees. We realize there is a tremendous financial and time commitment required of both team member and parents, and we don t want to scare you off with this informational packet, but we feel it is important to lay it all out in advance so you have a clear picture of what you are committing to. Unfortunately cheerleading is an expensive sport. Please be aware of the financial commitment you are making before you agree to join the team. Anyone under the age of 18 is still legally their parent s responsibility, thus, we expect the parent to make the commitments outlined in this packet no matter how close to adulthood their child is. We will hold you accountable for the financial terms required of all our cheer families, even if your child has a job and is paying their own bill. Our attorneys will proceed to collect on all debts owed by any means necessary. Fundraisers are highly encouraged, and are the sole function of the Elite Cheer Booster Club. The Boosters will conduct monthly meetings and ensure that fundraisers are held year-round to

5 give families the opportunity to earn as much money as possible. There are two types of fundraiser, one that benefits the organization directly and one that benefits your child's cheer account. A percentage of fundraisers will directly benefit your child's cheer account. Participation in the Booster Club is voluntary and a membership fee is required to participate. However, I can tell you from experience that if you participate in the fundraisers actively you can defray a great portion of the costs for the season. Please see a Booster Club Board Member for membership information and details of fundraising activities. Please note, funds raised for cheerleading expenses may be applied towards any cheer expense you want however, funds left in your account (should you leave or be removed from the team) will remain in the general fund no refunds. COMMUNICATIONS Our primary mode of communication is via text and/or the Remind App. All members are required to provide a cell phone number this is how most all information is distributed for our gym. We also frequently post updates via Twitter and Facebook. COMPETITIONS All competitions are MANDATORY for all team members if you are unable to attend your team s assigned competitions, you will not be allowed to join or remain on the team UNLESS you pay the associated competition entry fee on behalf of a replacement athlete. All events are travel-on-your-own. If you are traveling with another parent, we ask that you split the traveling costs (gas and hotel) with the chaperoning parent. Most competitions will be within a reasonable driving distance. Should a team receive a PAID BID to US Finals or a bid to The Summit that team would vote on whether to attend. This will be determined at a later date in the season.

7 South Georgia Elite Athlete Code of Conduct 1. All practices and competitions are mandatory. 2. All athletes shall remain courteous to coaches, teammates, judges, other athletes, and parents at all times. 3. All athletes will follow directions of coaches and chaperones at all times. 4. No athletes will use any written or spoken language, or gestures that are profane, lewd, vulgar, or abusive. 5. No athlete will engage in any willful act that disrupts practice, competitions, or any other sponsored events. 6. No athlete shall commit violence (such as kicking, hitting, punching, & scratching) upon staff or other athletes. 7. No athlete shall be in possession of any weapon at gym or any other sponsored event. 8. No athlete shall intentionally damage any gym equipment, facilities, or possessions of coaches, teammates or parents. 9. No athlete will steal another s property or that of the organization. 10. No athlete will defame or harass fellow teammates, coaches, parents or any other programs in written or spoken form. 11. No athlete shall be in possession or using any form of tobacco products. 12. No athlete shall be in possession, distributing, selling, exchanging, or under the influence of any alcohol beverages, or any other illegal substances. Illegal substances include but are not limited to inhalants, marijuana, and cocaine, LSD, PCP, amphetamines, heroin, steroids, lookalike drugs and any substance commonly referred to as designer drugs. 13. No athlete shall be inappropriately using or sharing of prescriptions and over the counter drugs. 14. No athlete shall be taking part in any gambling activities. 15. No athlete shall at any time be alone during any trips (buddy system shall be in place for all athletes regardless of age or team level. 16. No athlete shall leave their room after curfew, or after a chaperone, coach, or director have determined that it is time to be in their rooms unless accompanied by a responsible adult. 17. All athletes will follow the Athletes responsibilities/expectation policy at all times. Any failure to abide by any of the above rules may result in immediate removal from the program. 8 South Georgia Elite Cheer Agreement Program: Agrees to provide an environment necessary for each cheerleader to fulfill the highest competitive goal. This environment is to include practice facilities; safety approved equipment, liability insurance, and qualified staff. In addition, we agree to provide supervision at competitions by parents and coaches. Coaches/Director: Agree to maintain a high coaching standard by staying abreast of the latest coaching and safety approved techniques and performance styles. All teams will have a coach that is CPR certified and USASF safety certified. Agrees to take a personal interest in each cheerleader and family by keeping open communications between program, staff, cheerleader, and parents. Agrees to provide supervision at practices, competitions, exhibitions, events, etc. Agrees to determine team eligibility by setting qualifications concerning skills, attitude, and physical fitness, while giving equal opportunity to each cheerleader. Athlete : I understand the expectations of my coaches and South Georgia Elite Cheer. I also understand the rules governing this program and agree to abide by them. I realize there are consequences for not adhering to the policies. I will respect my coaches, teammates and other gym members at all times. I will refrain from using inappropriate language at practice or any other team event. I will not use my cell phone at practice unless directed by Coach to do so. I agree to represent South Georgia Elite Cheer in a positive light at all times. I will not post inappropriate content or photos on any online media. I will be a positive role model at all times for my teammates, whether younger or older, and will adhere to the uniform policies for competitions, performances and practices as set forth by my coach/director. I understand that I may be removed from the team for breaking these rules. Parent : I agree not to use team practices, performances or competitions as a form of punishment for my child; I understand that the entire team suffers when one member is missing and I will do my best to get my child to all practices and events. Agrees to discuss any and all problems or concerns related to the program, directors/ coaches, cheerleaders or other parents DIRECTLY WITH THE STAFF/DIRECTORS and to refrain from publicly airing their grievances should any arise. Agrees to accept coach's decision as FINAL and in the best interest of all parties. Agrees to pay all fees incurred by or on the behalf of the cheerleader, including but not limited to tuition, entry fees, and travel expenses. Understands that there will be no refund given on money paid for expenses due to someone quitting or dismissal from the team. Agrees to demonstrate "TEAM SPIRIT" by giving moral support to the PROGRAM, STAFF and to the TEAM. This includes being courteous to other squads we compete against portraying good sportsmanship at all events. Agrees to provide or make arrangements for transportation to all practices, events, and meetings and properly dressed for the event as described by the coaches. 9 FINANCIAL AGREEMENT FORM 1. Tuition is due by the 1st of each month beginning June 1, and late after the 5th A $20.00 late fee will be assessed after the 5th. Past due balances will continue to accrue late fees each 30 days. 2. Any balance more than 30 days old will be automatically charged to the credit card on file on the 31st day. If funds are unavailable, a $30 NSF fee will be charged. 3. Any member with a balance more than 30 days late will be benched until account is current. Any member with balance more than 60 days late will be subject to removal from the team. 4. No member will be allowed to start a new season with a negative balance. If they do not start at the beginning of the season due to negative balances, they will still be subject to full tuition payments for the months they missed, upon rejoining the team. 5. A $35.00 NSF fee will be charged on all returned checks. Only cash or money orders will be accepted from members who have bounced 2 or more checks. 6. Tuition is based on a full year, We do not pro-rate for holidays, gym closures (planned or unplanned), missed practices or vacations. 7. If you wish to leave the program, permission of the gym owner and a 30 day written notice is required and payment for the last month is mandatory. 8. Accounts must be current in order to receive uniforms, team clothing or apparel. Payments are applied to the oldest outstanding debt on your account. 9. In general, Elite has a NO REFUND policy for items purchased, tuition, and travel expenses paid. Some exceptions apply. Any member involved in a South Georgia Elite Cheer competitive team has a financial obligation to the gym. You are obligated to pay tuition, on time, during the season in which you enroll. Tuition is non-negotiable. By signing this Financial Policies form, you are giving your full commitment to South Georgia Elite Cheer and the financial obligations involved with the program. You also understand that monies earned through fundraising with the Elite Booster Club will not be refundable, and if forfeited, will be applied to the general Booster Club account. In addition, fundraising monies may only be applied to cover your bills ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB ACCOUNT TO YOUR CHEER ACCOUNT. You are still obligated to pay your bills on time, regardless of what money you feel you will have in your fundraising account; if a credit does not show available in your account when your bill comes due, you are responsible for making the payment on time.
