Hosts will be the Gladewater Round Up Rodeo. CHAMBER DIRECTORS will meet MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2016 at Noon. Directors, please be present. Important decisions will be made. No Chamber Luncheon. We will see you at the Community Christmas Dinner, Thursday, December 8th from 5 pm to 8 pm., Jeter Hall at First United Methodist Church. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Funds raised benefit the Christmas Lighting Fund. Take outs are available if you choose not to stay to listen to some of the Holiday entertainment. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to visit old friends or introduce newcomers to our community. Santa will be on hand for picture taking. Some of the entries include the Boys & Girls Club, GMS Girls Basketball Team, Home Place RV Park, Gladewater Rodeo Association, GHS Band & Honey Bears just to name a few.

The parade will start same as usual but will cross over Main Street to Tenery (Lee Library) turn on Quitman and go all the way down Quitman and end at Broadway School.

If you have not signed up for a space in the Parade lineup, please do so today. Award winning guitarist, singer, songwriter, Rafael Espinoza will be performing a concert at the old Gladewater Middle School Auditorium on Saturday, December 3rd, 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm. 12 and under kids free. Don t forget that thanks to the Gladewater Post Office, the little ones are able to write a letter to Santa and will receive a letter from the Jolly Man himself. Be sure and remind the little one s to put their return address on their letter. This year s theme is Gladewater Night of Lights. Below, is all the pertinent information regarding the event. All units must be driven by a licensed and insured driver. All units must be decorated using this year s theme Gladewater Night of Lights. We encourage the use of lights or illuminated items, such as glow sticks, bracelets, and/or necklaces. No actions permitted that would endanger spectators along the streets. Candy may not be thrown, but is allowed to be handed out by those walking in the parade. There is one, and only one Santa allowed in the parade. Santa will ride on the Gladewater Fire Truck at the end of parade. As a request to entrants that include live animals, namely horses, please comply with pooper scooper laws and dispose of any animal waste/or wearing of diapers. All horses will be positioned at the back of the parade lineup. Anyone in violation of any of the rules will be removed from the parade.
