1 INDIAN VALLEY BAND BOOSTERS Warrior News Volume 4 November 2010 Words from the president We are approaching the end of the season and have had a very successful year. I once again want to thank all of the volunteers who came out to help the band in various capacities this season. I can't say enough about the executive board and the efficiency with which they handled concession, as well as fund-raisers and special events. The amount of preparation and time that goes into this coordination is amazing. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. Our end of the season banquet is quickly approaching and I hope everyone will come out and celebrate the successes of the Marching Warriors. Remember that November 17 is the last day to make quota. A student must meet quota in order to qualify for the spring band trip. There are still students who are selling lollipops. The fund-raiser will run until November 17 th in order to give students time to meet quota and/or build their trip account. If you haven't had a chance to try the lollipops that are being sold, consider purchasing one from those students who are still selling. All unsold lollipops and money must be turned in to me or Ms. Singley as soon as possible but no later than November 17 th. On October 14 th, band members gathered at the Scooter Pavilion at Derry Township Community Park for some food and socialization. After everyone had their fill of all the delicious food, many students, staff, and even some parents moved to the ball diamond for a competitive game of kickball. And are these folks competitive. All-in-all, it was a fun-filled evening. When it was time to turn out the lights, I think everyone was satisfied that they accomplished what they set out to do - just have FUN!
