1 KAIB Newsletter Sept. 28, - Oct. 6, 2015 Weekly Calendar PRESIDENTS MESSAGE I want to recognize a group that s been working feverishly on a band project for most of the summer. The Props Group got started on June 8 with a huge task in front of them. The props for Origins consist of a 120 long ramp, 4 Mayan pyramids, a large globe, and some tarps. They ve been working hard many evenings since then and have most of the props built. The Props Group consists of Amish craftsmen Dan Amos Watt, Dave Jamos Firek, Troy Yoder Bittinger, along with Wheel Specialist Marie Postle, Paint & Grease Specialist Michele Cable, Model Specialist Eileen Krynock, Nuts and Bolts Specialist Tom Auden, Conduit Specialist Chris Nauyokas, and myself (Procurement Specialist). Thanks for your contributions of hard work to a great show! Thanks, Gary THANK YOU! We would like to thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedule to make soup for the band on Saturday! The reactions from the students and staff made it all worthwhile. They were very appreciative and loved the variety of soups they had to choose from! A big thank you to those parents that donated bread, rolls, butter, crackers and desserts also! And lastly, thank you to the group of Band Moms that stayed at practice to set up, serve and clean up! 3 Section Parent Meeting There will be a meeting for all parents that have signed up to be a section parent for this season on Monday, September 28th at 7:30pm at the high school, lower band room. SECTION PARENTS: Make Up Pictures and Individual Guard Pictures Individual Guard and Make-up Band photos are scheduled at Hourglass Studio on Tuesday, October 6th 4:00-7:00pm. Sign-up sheets will be on the bulletin board Monday night. Guard pictures will be taken in competition uniform. Band members will be in uniform with shako. We thank you for your cooperation. FUDGE NIGHT This year s Fudge Night is Friday, October 2nd. Attached is a flyer with all the details you need to know to help make this annual fundraiser a sweet success! Thank you, Marie Postle HOLIDAY GREENS FUNDRAISER The Band and Guard are taking orders for evergreen products from Mickman Brothers in Minnesota.
