2 Fundraising Information/Hospitality Needs YETI Cooler Raffle - First thanks to the anonymous band parent who donated this amazing YETI cooler for us to raffle off as a fundraiser for the band. 1 ticket is $5 or you can get 5 tickets for $20. Tickets will be sold at the October 6 th and 27 th football games and the drawing will be held at the final community performance on Tuesday November 7 th. Fruit and Pastry sales have begun. Delivery will be Friday 12/1. We ll need parents to help that afternoon/night separate the fruit and get them sorted for parent pick up. More info to come. Trunk or Treat What is that? When? October 31 st, right after band practice. Bring enough candy for 250+ kids, decorate and open up the trunk of your car and pass out candy. It s a tradition and so much fun! WATER! Please try to remember to bring water when you are dropping off or showing up for practice. We need all you can send for all the upcoming travel and we are very low. Thank you! Reminder Whether you are in or out of uniform, your actions reflect that of this great organization you have decided to join. It should go without saying, but your behavior and the quality of it are especially important at competition and football events. Dream Dinners It s still not too late to join us for Dream Dinners on Thursday October 19 th at 630. You need to eat and we raise money for the band at the same time.

4 Grace s Corner (abbreviated high points from last week). So beyond proud not only of the Fort Mill band, but to live in a town with TWO incredibly strong band programs that support and push each other to be great. The love, support, comradery, and passion that erupted last night reminded me of why we do what we do. I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the season, and wish the best for our other SC friends as they compete in the weeks to come! Over the moon. It is imperative that you are taking care of yourself. That means eating healthy, properly hydrating every day (especially during rehearsals), and taking vitamins/emergenc if you feel yourself becoming sick. If you have been sitting out during rehearsals, be sure that you are doing everything in your power to heal as quickly as possible (taking proper medications, using braces/wraps as needed, etc.) Schoolwork is extremely important, but so is sleep! Be sure to get a decent amount of sleep each night, and avoid any situations in which you could get injured. Take care of yourself, we need you! Performance etiquette It is extremely important that we are the most courteous band in the audience and that every band has the opportunity to perform for a respectful audience! That means no talking during performances, clapping when appropriate, and cheering on/congratulating other bands when we see them. Also, parents, this one's for you! Please do not hesitate to clap and show your appreciation during moments of our show that excite you! We are working very hard to produce a show that is engaging for the audience, so it is completely okay to clap in the middle of movements- it makes us want to perform better! As we move through the season, professional videos will become available and will be shared on this page, so I encourage you to enjoy the show in the moment instead of focusing on recording live. You, too, should stand and/or clap for other bands. Thank you!
