We are very proud of the accomplishments of these students, and the ability they have shown to keep working throughout these busy weeks and months! Please allow me to express my sincere gratitude to all of our Booster officers, committee members, chaperones, and all who have contributed in any way to make the Marching Bees possible! Without you, we could not even begin to provide such a unique experience for our young people. THANK YOU. At the risk of omitting someone, I d like to offer special recognition to a few individuals, whose time commitment has gone above and beyond this fall: Denise Eder, Julie Luber, Cheryl Dunphy, and Lori Losi for the hours spent with our uniforms; Joan Castelucci for keeping our students healthy and safe all season; Carolyn Karkosiak for organizing our outstanding group of chaperones; and Sharon Gallagher for managing our game snacks! CITRUS SALE - Our due date for December orders is Friday, November 7th. Deliveries are currently scheduled for Friday, November 21nd and Friday, December 12th (these dates are subject to change, based on the company s schedule). HOLIDAY BAND CONCERT Tuesday, 12/16 (CT 6:30) The first Concert Band performance of the school year will feature our five talented ensembles: Symphonic Crimson, Symphonic Gold, Concert Winds, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble. We look forward to sharing some great music, and spreading holiday cheer! BRASS/WOODWIND CHOIR FIELD TRIP Wednesday, 12/17 These ensembles, comprised of Wind Ensemble members, will be performing at local nursing homes and other areas in the surrounding communities on 12/17. PEP BAND - Basketball season is beginning! Mr. Hanna is taking over the Pep Band this year, and will be sending more information out soon. We have been through a lot since August and we look forward to continuing the excellent progress that we have made, as the year moves forward! Many thanks, Jason Wyse

What a wonderful season this has been! Sounds of the Stadium showcased all the hard work and dedication of the staff and students. It was so great to see so many supporters there! A big thank you to all who have done so much this year to make marching band run so smoothly. Congratulations to all the seniors who are finishing up their final marching band season! A special thank you to all who coordinated, donated snacks, and organized senior night. It is such a great memory to see the seniors in the golden plume recognized with a bow by the rest of the band! The Citrus Sale continues in December. Please support the band in our biggest fundraiser. It raises money for both the band and the individual student and the fruit is delicious! Citrus also makes a great addition to the Holiday table or as a gift! Please consider purchasing a box to enjoy at home. Please join us at the next band booster meeting which is always held on the first Tuesday of the month in the band room! Hope to see everyone there! CONGRATULATIONS to all of our senior marching band members! Our hope is that you will have fond memories of the time you spent as a Marching Bee! 3 On November 27, 2014, a proud musical tradition will continue! The Macy s Great American Marching Band will perform for the 88th annual Macy s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Honoring America s finest high school musicians, this band will be comprised of select students from each of the fifty states, including some of our own BBHHS students. Two Brecksville-Broadview Hts. High School students are honored once again to march in this year s Macy s Thanksgiving Day parade as a member of the Macy s Great American Marching Band. Seniors, Gianna Caroniti and Sam Koziol will have an encore performance as they get to participate in this prestigious band with over 245 students, representing every state. The musicians, under the direction of Dr. Richard Good, Auburn University, assisted by Barry Houser, University of Illinois, will be complemented by approximately 40 flags and dancers. Sam Koziol will be playing his alto saxophone while Gianna Caroniti will be a part of the flag line. Students are selected based on their musical ability and past achievements. The opportunity is open to students from over 14,000 high schools across the United States. Since 2006 when the band was formed, over 2000 students from across the United States have had the opportunity to perform in the Macy s Thanksgiving Day Parade as part of the Macy s Great American Marching Band. Gianna and Sam will also have the opportunity to attend a leadership/educational workshop while in NY. The workshop will focus on leadership and encourage students to achieve their maximum potential. Sam is currently the drum major for BBHHS Marching Band, plays alto saxophone in the school s wind ensemble, jazz band and for the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony. Gianna is currently one of the flag line captains for the BBHHS Marching Band and is also a member of Music in Motion s performance group. Both students are National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society members. The Macy s Thanksgiving Day Parade is internationally recognized as the official start of the holiday season and world-famous as a uniquely American entertainment extravaganza. Once again, this prestigious band will take an honor position among the gigantic helium balloons; impressive floats carrying celebrities, and the nation s top marching bands. Stepping-off from Central Park, the Band will be cheered by the 2.5 million spectators lining the parade route. Arriving at Macy s Herald Square, the Band will perform for celebrity hosts, a grandstand audience, and more than 50 million TV viewers watching the broadcast live on NBC. Be sure to tune in on Thanksgiving Day to see them perform.
