1 TOPS Gone With the Pounds SRD May 2nd to May 4th This year s SRD will be held at the: Casablanca Resort 950 West Mesquite Blvd. Mesquite, Nevada Group # 1TOP13 DEADLINE FOR SRD REGISTRATION March 10, 2013 All registration forms for this year s convention are enclosed. Anyone attending any part of SRD must pay the FULL registration fee. This includes any children, spouses, and non-tops members. SRD Registration fee is $45.00 through March 10th, 2013 must be postmarked by this date. Late Registrations will be accepted thru April 1st at a cost of $ THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. Registration will be $55.00 at the door. SRD identification is to be worn at all sessions. The SRD treasurer will send a confirmation receipt when your chapter registration is received. Promotions /Hospitality room will open on Thursday 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 9:00 am this room is located by the elevator pool level. Check schedule in program for promotions room hours. If you are unable to find promotions room check with AC Michelle Yauger or Chris Conte. We will also have ticket sales in the main showroom 30 minutes before session. No ticket sales during session. If you would like to volunteer to help at SRD, please susangharper@yahoo.com. SUGGESTION. Delegate one person to take charge of all SRD registrations. There is a lot of information to read, forms to complete, and deadlines to meet. Make copies of the forms and tentative schedule for your members so everyone remembers what event they are participating in and when that event will take place! Make sure to give your SRD ambassador time at meetings to discuss SRD plans.

2 FUNDRAISER BASKETS Each chapter needs to bring a fundraiser basket worth at least $ The proceeds from this event go into the SRD treasury to help send our state royalty to IRD. The basket does not have to be a certain theme. Your chapter can bring more than one basket. Lunch with the First Vice President KOPS and members luncheon to honor KOPS Friday. 6. KOPS Panel and KOPS award: Friday during luncheon. Meet with Nancy Marasco, 1st VP. 7. Fun Night : Ballroom Friday at 6:30 pm Chapter skits and entertainment. 8. Division and Royalty recognition Saturday at 9:00 am 9. All TOPS and KOPS banquet Saturday afternoon 10. Remember, if you are participating in SRD programs, receiving recognition, awards, etc., please check in, at confirmation tables upon arrival at SRD. MALE: SUIT/SPORTS COAT WITH TIE IN COLOR OF YOUR CHOICE FRIDAY AM Please dress up for the KOPS luncheon and speakers 2012 Leaders and Chapter ROYALTY and 2011 State Royalty must dress up you will be on stage Friday 1 st session. FRIDAY NIGHT will be fun night. However you dress - JUST PLAN TO HAVE FUN! SATURDAY AM will be Royalty and Division Winners, and contest winners dress up SATURDAY PM will be KOPS recognition, graduation, and Circle of Lights dress up Since Saturday is a more formal part of SRD and we are all so proud of our KOPS and our winners, it would be wonderful to see the attending members in their Sunday Best. Thank you in advance for making this a very special time for all our winners. 2

3 ACTIVITIES: 1. SOUTHERN BELLES AND GENTS PRESENTATION (Friday Night) to enter, you must wear a costume and share your inspirational successes. You must register in advance to participate. 2. Dime Parade / CENTERPIECE CONTEST (Saturday AM) put your artistic, talented members to work designing and making your chapter centerpiece. See registration form for details, fill out and mail to appropriate address. 1st, 2nd, 3rd awards will be awarded during the Saturday AM session. Leader or member will bring centerpiece forward announce chapter and total chapter loss for the year. Dimes will be poured into jar on stage representing the chapter loss. Centerpieces will be raffled off after dinner Saturday. 3. Gone With the Pounds PARADE (Friday Night) Bring your poster, or chapter flag. Please fill out registration form in this packet and mail to appropriate address. 4. FAMILIES IN TOPS PARADE (Friday Night) Please have poster with family name (s) on it. Please fill out registration form in this packet and mail to appropriate address. 5. KOPS HONOR SOCIETY PARADE (Friday Night) please have your banner flag or poster. Please fill out registration form in this packet and mail to appropriate address. ************************************************************************************* NAME BADGE CONTEST Chapter will use SRD Theme Gone With the Pounds to make a name badge for each paid attendee. A validation ribbon will be provided for each paid attendee. Validation ribbon will need to be attached to name badge to attend all events. 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd place awards to be announced Friday evening. Chapter name to be placed on the back of poster along with the name of person attending SRD who will receive award for poster. Awards for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place. Check in Poster Thursday in Promotions/registration room. This will be located in the suite on the pool level by the elevator. Look for signs. Please bring a stand for your poster and make sure it has your chapter number taped on it so we can move poster and stand together. Size is standard poster paper. 4 KOPS LUNCHEON, BANQUET AND REGISTRATION FORM KOPS luncheon is open to all members, and guests but is in honor of the KOPS. Chapters are asked to pay for any KOPS attending from their chapter. SRD Registration fee is $45.00 per person (including all guests). Fee remains the same whether or not you attend the entire convention. No refunds!! 6 KOPS PANEL WORKSHOP A workshop will be held during Friday s Luncheon with a panel of KOPS members. The KOPS panel will be comprised of the various stages of KOPS the new member, the long time member, the reinstated member, etc. The intention is to share best practices of these successful KOPS members and to give TOPS members an opportunity to hear how they succeeded. As time will also be limited for this workshop, interested members/chapters are asked to submit one question that you would like to be discussed. These questions will comprise the bulk of the workshop. As time allows, the floor will be opened for additional questions and answers. Please write your chapter s question below. REINSTATED KOPS As we all know, it is a struggle to maintain our KOPS goal. Sometimes unforeseen things happen and we lose our status for one reason or another. If you have any members in your chapter that were reinstated in 2012 and plan on attending this year s SRD, please list them below so they can be honored on stage. Leader or chapter representative will carry centerpiece on stage, announce chapter and total pounds lost in Dimes represent the total pounds lost in your chapter. Dimes are poured into jar on stage. The centerpieces will be raffled off after the banquet Saturday. Register NOW and check in centerpiece in promotions room. Hold the dimes for the Saturday parade. They will be deposited in jar on stage as chapter announces chapter loss. If chapter not in attendance please sends check to cover chapter loss. Tickets will be sold for centerpieces. Please make the centerpiece something you would like to win. We will be using the centerpieces to decorate the dinner tables and draw for the centerpieces after dinner.
