1 TOPS IS A WINNER WONDERLAND MICHIGAN SRD 2014 Mount Pleasant THERE ARE SOME MAJOR CHANGES SO PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THEM (PLEASE MAKE A COPY OF ALL PAGES FOR YOUR CHAPTER) Now is the time to make plans for the 2014 State Recognition Days to be held in Mount Pleasant. Friday and Saturday, May 16 & 17, at Soaring Eagle Resort, 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd. Mt. Pleasant. HEADQUARTERS/HOST HOTEL: SRD Headquarters will be the Soaring Eagle Resort, 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd., Mount Pleasant, MI The Soaring Eagle Entertainment Hall will be the sight of all general sessions. Rooms are available on a first come first serve basis. Room reservations must be made using reservation form online at using Group Code: NO phone reservations will be accepted. Please share all SRD information. REGISTRATION FEE: $30.00 if postmarked by April 15, All registrations postmarked after this date or sold at the door will be $ There will be no refunds issued once registration fees are paid. PAYMENT FOR REGISTRATION MUST BE IN THE FORM OF A CHAPTER CHECK or MONEY ORDER PAYABLE TO: TOPS MI SRD NAME BADGES & LATE REGISTRATION: Name badges are required for entrance to all TOPS functions. Name badges are to be picked up at the Soaring Eagle (see enclosed map) on Thursday evening, Friday or Saturday. Please see schedule for times. Individual packet in attendees name will have name badge, the program and all necessary items for parades with explanation sheets. If you are picking up a packet for someone else, you will need to sign for it. If a name badge is misplaced at SRD, a replacement will be provided if name is on the master list and picture ID is presented. PROMOTIONAL ITEMS FOR SALE/SRD CHARM & PINETTE: The 2014 SRD Charm, SRD Pin and all promotional items must be pre-ordered at the time of registration (see order form). Your order will be ready to pick up on Thursday evening, Friday or Saturday at the Soaring Eagle (see enclosed map). Please see schedule for times. We will have a limited number of items for sale at SRD at a slightly higher price, so come early for best selection. No personal checks will be accepted; chapter checks or cash ONLY. TOPS IS A WINNER WONDERLAND THEME PARADE is planned for our Friday evening session. Only costumed participants may sit in the reserved section for the theme parade. Donations from this parade will go to the Veterans Assistance Program. All items will be either sent to our troops overseas or given to needy veteran s families in Michigan. Each participant will need to bring one (1) item such as toiletries-personal care; Meijer or Wal-Mart gift cards; hard candy; nuts; AT&T phone cards. 2 GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Name badges will have codes for recognition event participants. Only those members with the appropriate codes will be granted early entrance. In addition, special assistance name badges will have a code to allow them access to reserved seating. 2. TOPS IS A WINNER WONDERLAND Chapter theme parade participants must be in theme costume and each participant must bring one item for donation. See page 1. Costume ideas may include snowmen, skiers, ice skaters or sledding. Let your imagination run wild. As this event is a PARADE event, chapters are allowed only a very brief shout out on stage and then must progress off stage quickly. Chapters are not allowed to perform a skit or sing songs. Please respect our audience and our need for timeliness by complying with our parade rules. 3. State Division Winners and State Royalty will be notified in advance so all may make plans to attend and dress appropriately. 4. GRADUATING KOPS First time KOPS who reach goal by December 31, 2013, and are registered with TOPS Club, Inc. by January 31, 2014 are eligible to graduate at this SRD. This includes all registered KOPS WHO HAVE NOT PREVOUSLY GRADUATED. *** KOPS will be graduating in full cap and gown. There will be a $10.00 fee for the gown (which you will keep) and you must state size needed on registration form. Please see additional information under dress codes for Graduates. 5. Special Assistance Seating: All attendees in wheel chairs or with walkers will be provided special seating. This will be enforced due to Fire Marshall Requirements for safety. Each person may have one (1) escort to have with them. A hostess/host will be available to assist you in this section if needed. Please note: attendees will have to supply their own walkers and wheelchairs if needed. If you will need someone on stage with you, please let us know what type of assistance will be needed. Thank You. 6. Century Award Presentation: Contact your Coordinator as to your eligibility for this event. 7. PLEASE NO PICTURE TAKING ALLOWED 8. REGISTRATION FORM: Please note that the registration form is now on one (1) page only. If you think more room is needed, please make extra copies of the form to use. PLEASE PRINT. On the form use a check mark for Leaders parade. For Century Club Parade list year earned. For Before & Now parade please list both sizes. For Chapter Royalty parade please note if Queen or King and pounds lost to goal. For KOPS parade please list full KOPS years only. For KOPS Graduation please list pounds lost to goal. Under Special Needs please list type of assistance needed for on stage only. 9. RECAP & PROMOTIONAL ITEM ORDER FORM: Please make sure all of your addition is correct and that proper amount is submitted by chapter check or money order only. No personal checks. 10. There is ample parking next to the Entertainment Hall in the parking garage. This entrance is right next to the hall so you do not have to go through the casino. There is no charge for parking. Before & Now Participants: Be proud and dress to inspire (please no jeans or shorts). Try to avoid very loose fitting or baggy clothing for your NOW outfit. Wear clothing that shows your progress! SATURDAY ON STAGE DRESS CODE Females: Dress, evening formal, or skirt with dressy blouse must be mid-calf or longer. Floor length is preferred. Car wash dress pants or palazzo (very wide legged) dress pants are also allowed. Any color or print. Be proud and dress to inspire. Males: Tuxedo, dark suit or sports coat with dress pants, dress shirt and tie. Be proud and dress to inspire. KOPS GRADUATES : Graduates will be wearing a white cap and gown. This will eliminate the need for a floor length white dress for women and a suit jacket for men. Women, please wear skirt with dress shirt or dress (no slacks). Men, please wear dark slacks and dress shirt with tie (no jeans).
