For those that prefer snail mail this is for your benefit so you are aware of what is happening at the Post. Our old printer that we have been using for several years now has decided to move on and left us without the mailing version. Please bear with us as we make the transition to a new printing company. This year has now come to an end. We all need to look forward to the year and understand that we are all a family of veterans. Please remember why we are members of one of the greatest veteran s organizations that work relentlessly on veterans rights. Besides working on Legion Programs, let s get involved on some of the projects that need to be done at the Post by volunteering your time. Please contact Jamie Grinis and let him know that you want to get involved. Our installation of new officers was held on Sunday, July 8 at 2pm at the Post. Please welcome those officers that are new and give them all your support so we can continue to enjoy the benefits of being a Legionnaire. Congratulations to our Legion Riders who put together the Poker Run in June and made it a success on a very short notice. Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to the next one. Once again I am asking you to sign up for this newsletter via . This will reduce our cost of printing and postage. A big thank you goes out to Pat (Tank) & Kim Chase and the girls, Patricia Renneisen, Matt Ferrara, Steve Greive and our coordinator, Jamie Grinis for a job well done in the planting of our new hedges and flowers in front of the building. I also want to thank Charlie Dibble for the outstanding job he did on the new American Legion sign located over the front hall door. Thank you for everyone that came to Joe Benson s Post Ever Lasting. Those that knew Joe will surely miss him and his unforgettable smile along with his Christmas Angels that he loved to pass out. May you rest in peace. Please make this a good year for our Post, there is too much that needs to be accomplished and as a team we can make good things happen. We are looking forward to another great year of working to help and support our troops and our veterans. Six members of our Unit have been asked to attend the Department Workshop, we will be taught how to participate in and work the programs. They will bring this information back to all members of the 9 th District which they will share with them at the School of Instruction which will be held at a later time. On October 7, at 12 PM we will be having our Auxiliary District Picnic at Post 36 on SR 84. This is always a fun time and a great time to meet with members from all of District 9. We are still in the process of working on our calendar for the year but I will keep you informed with our activities. I would like to see more members attend the meetings as more members means more can be accomplished to help our veterans and our youth. Let s all work together and you know my motto Let s have Fun.
