DANCE BUDGET YES! YOU CAN AFFORD A PROFESSIONAL DJ! Use this convenient form to estimate your school dance budget. Projected Income/Revenue Ticket Sales ( $ /ticket x (estimated students in attendance) Concessions (food, pop, other misc sales) Proceeds from a fundraiser (car wash, bake sale, etc) Contribution from your school Other income/revenue sources Total projected Income/Revenue projected from all sources Projected Costs/Expenses Pro Sound & Light Show DJ (call for a no obligation, fast quote) Dance location rental fee (if applicable) Chaperones, Security and/or custodial fees Cost of concessions (food, pop, other misc items for sale) Decorations, misc supplies Other expenses Total projected Costs/Expenses Total projected Income (if fundraiser, etc.) Hint: Figure out all of your projected expenses first. Then figure out all of your projected revenue excluding ticket sales. Subtract your expenses from the revenue so far and then divide that total by the projected number in attendance to get your suggested ticket price. See example below. Example: Total projected revenue before ticket sales Less: Total projected costs/expenses Less: (if fundraiser, $$ goal you want to raise) $ - - Total divided by (estimated attendance) = Your ticket price Pro Sound & Light Show Disc Jockeys
School Event Checklist and Tips Pick a date for your event and get approval early. Reserve the space or location early. Reserve a Pro Sound DJ right away for best availability and pricing. Reserve security personnel and/or chaperones. Buy decorations, get decorating committee together to help. Return Song requests/directions to Pro Sound 2 weeks or more in advance. Announce event with free Pro Sound posters 1 to 3 weeks in advance. Confirm all of the above about a week before your event. WARNING! DANCE PLANNERS - YOU NEED TO READ THIS! Just say no to IPODS! Be wary of DJs with IPODS or other home stereo equipment. This equipment is not designed for professional use and may cause an early end to and/or greatly reduce the quality of your event. Some dance planners think anyone can be a DJ if they have a big music library. This can be a recipe for a lot of complaining students and parents. Many of these non-professional DJs use questionable downloaded music that may not be appropriate or edited. Do you want to deal with those calls from parents? Did you know that many cheap DJ companies are run part-time on the side by people that HAVE NOT received the appropriate training? No training means limited to no music knowledge, which also means complaints and an empty dance floor. Many of these so called companies are just a person and a cell phone and do not have the proper insurance. We get calls every year from frantic planners who thought they had a DJ reserved only to find that the company they choose is either out of business, double booked, or they just disappeared. We hear these stories all the time. Do you really need that additional stress? Why choose Pro Sound & Light Show? Experienced, Fun & Cool DJ s! Hot Music by request, see our website! Awesome Sound & Lights! Free Posters & Giveaways! Fully insured with complete references Contact us with your questions and for a fast, no obligation quote. A free information package is also available. Limited budget? Lower quote from someone else? Call us anyway. We'll do our best to meet your budget or beat their price! 6 9 FULLY INSURED WITH A $3,000,000 LIABILITY POLICY! We estimate that over 75% of other DJ companies do not have proper liability insurance. DO YOU WANT TO TAKE THAT RISK? Here's our proof of insurance: 2013 Pro Sound & Light Show & Absolute Celebrations
Pro Sound & Light Show DJ s & Uplighting School Dance Testimonials Our DJ was excellent! He got the kids involved in games and they danced the entire time! Usually we get a lot of complaints about the songs the DJ chooses to play and this time we had Zero complaints! Actually this was the 1 st dance we ve had that the kids didn t leave early. They (all but 5) stayed till midnight. We had a lot of kids give us positive feedback on the dance. They had a great time. Thank you! Sam is highly recommended for prom, too! Rachel Amdahl - International Falls High School, th St, Int l Falls MN 56649, The DJ s seemed to really enjoy their job and enjoyed working with the kids. The kids loved it and had a great time! Dianne Haugen - Community Education, PO Box 489, Moose Lake MN 55767, We had a blast the kids really danced and our DJ was very quick to play request and keep the kids moving. Thank you! Georgeina O Connell - Turtle Lake High School, th Ave, Turtle Lake WI 54889, Great Job! Fond Du Lac Ojibway School Dance, 49 University Rd, Cloquet MN 55720, This was the best DJ we have had so far. He was very pleasant. I would really like to have him back. Tammi Johnson - Braham Area High School, 521 Elmhurst Ave S, Braham MN 55006, Our DJ s were great. They played the music the kids wanted, were prompt and also cleaned up fast so we could all go home! Webster High School, PO Box 9, Webster WI 54893, The students loved our DJ. He was fun and had great interactive activities! St Croix Falls Middle School, POB 130, Saint Croix Falls WI, "Dear Colin, I just had to write to you once again thank you for the fantastic job you did at our prom. The kids all had a great time and they were still talking abut how much fun they had on Monday morning. I really think that because Pro sound and Light entertained at last year's prom, made this year's attendance jump to 115; the highest I ever had. They were expecting a great DJ and that is exactly what they got. They were well entertained with the music they liked and the games and prizes. Keeping kids at the dance until it is over has been a problem for quite some time, but this year 3/4 of the kids stayed 'till the end. I have enclosed a check for you, because the class advisors and I all felt you deserve it. You had fun with the kids and it reflected on them. Thanks again for a wonderful evening and I am looking forward to having Pro Sound & Light and you at our daughter's wedding reception in June. Now I know my guests will be well entertained." Debbie Wickstrom - Luck High School Prom, 810 7th St S Luck, WI 54853
Pro Sound & Light Show DJ s & Uplighting School Dance Testimonials "Kids had a great time! I'm sure we'll be booking you again next year!" Stacey Juntunen - Fosston High School Prom, 301 1st St. E, Fosston, MN "DJ was fun. The little things between songs were fun and the kids enjoyed it." Kris Johnson - International Falls High School Prom, th St, International Falls, MN "Mike did an outstanding Job." Marlene Roessel - Solon Springs High School Prom, Solon Springs, WI "Sam did a super job. The kids were very happy!!" Sarah Johnson - Patrick Henry High School, 4320 Newton Ave, Minneapolis, MN "Very respectful. A nice, quick, clean set up. Good charm. Fast working. Very lively. Totally rad! Always offering more, or asking if there was anything more needed. He really seemed to enjoy himself, and what he does. He is quite the entertainer." 4-H, Little Falls, MN "Our semi-formal Snowball Dance was a huge success, selling 600 plus tickets this year, and once again Pro Sound & Light Show contributed to that success. Our DJ did a spectacular job and played music that everyone could groove to. Thanks again for the discount you gave us, and we hope to work with you again in the future. Thank you." College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, MN "The parents as well as the students had a great time. It was all a school dance should be. I think the price was competitive, but the service was impeccable! We are completely satisfied." Lincoln Elementary, Bemidji, MN "This DJ was super! My students commented on how quickly he played requests and all the fun things he did. He had great interaction with the students and a terrific personality!!! Whatever the going rate is for DJ. Double it. This guy was fantastic!" Motley-Staples Middle School, Motley, MN "Your company's willingness to help us last minute, and give us a great rate was essential to our event's success. The performance of your company exceeded and set a high standard for any future events I will set up or attend." Superior Amateur Hockey Association, Superior, WI
Pro Sound & Light Show DJ s & Uplighting School Dance Testimonials "The students wished the dance had been longer. They really enjoyed the music and I have been told this was the best prom ever repeatedly. Thanks Dean!" Moose Lake High School, Moose Lake, MN "Barb was our DJ and she did a wonderful job! She was very enthusiastic and entertaining. She was a lot of fun and provided us with everything we asked and more. Thank you!" University of Minnesota - Duluth Sports Club, Duluth, MN "DuWayne is a wonderful DJ. He knows what music is popular. He knows how to interact with the students and he knows what they will have fun with. We got him for a deal. He was well worth it." Grantsburg High School, Grantsburg, WI "The DJ had an exceptional attitude toward the event. He cooperated with us very well, even when kids showed up early. He was a blast and was worth every cent of the cost." Mora High School, Mora, MN "I appreciate very much the willingness of this company to keep school music appropriate!" Cambridge-Isanti High School, Cambridge, MN "Thank you! It was great to have a DJ that we knew and trusted." Patrick Henry High School, Minneapolis, MN "As the students were leaving the dance, they were already asking when we could have another one. They really enjoyed it!" St Ambrose School, Woodbury, MN "The DJ was outstanding! He planned a variety of activities that kept the crowd involved. No one wanted to leave when the dance was over. As always, Pro Sound & Light provided a quality DJ at an affordable price!" Shell Lake High School, Shell Lake, WI "Pro Sound and Light is a great value. They offer and come through with entertainment that is often much higher priced at other DJ companies." Mondovi Middle School, Mondovi, WI
Pro Sound & Light Show DJ s & Uplighting School Dance Testimonials "This past dance was one of our best dances ever! Thank you!" Ladysmith Middle School, Ladysmith, WI "The DJ was very friendly and helpful - I think he really enjoyed himself and loves doing his job!" Winter High School, Winter, WI "The DJ was very professional and the kids loved it - I would have him again! He was not goofy or involved with the kids more than he needed to be - they loved it! This is the most I have ever paid for a DJ, but if this is what it costs, I'll do it again!" Albrook High School, Saginaw, MN "Thank you very much, the kids had a great time and we had a great turn out. The DJs were pleasant and friendly with our staff. Please call us about our annual Father/Daughter Dance again this January - your company served/entertained at the last year's event and it was excellent." Barnum Youth Center, Barnum, MN "This was an excellent experience! The DJ was wonderful!" Duluth Central High School, Duluth, MN
