1 Simley Dance Team th Street East Inver Grove Heights, MN January 18, 2018 Dear Dance Team Coaches and Team Members, Thank you for registering for the Simley Dance Team Invitational. We are very excited that you are able to attend and wish you the best of luck. We hope to follow close to our schedule, but we will run ahead if time permits. Registration will begin at 8:00 am. ** Buses will enter into the Student Parking Lot - watch for the sign. Buses will proceed toward the school and will drive around the school to door #42 across from the football fields. It would be helpful if a coach could come in to register the team before the dancers enter the school. After dropping the dancers off the bus driver can continue around the back of the school past the football field. Please have your bus driver watch for someone to direct them to the correct location to park their bus, if they are staying. The bus drivers are welcome to watch the competition free of charge, they will need to enter through the same door as the dancers and check in with registration for a wrist band. Pick up is in reverse order with buses entering off of Cahill then behind the High School. At registration please note the enclosed schedule, order of performance, and marking times that you will be receiving. Also you will be receiving a map of the school, program, and room assignment for the day. Please your data sheets to simleydanceinvite@gmail.com so we can get them organized for the announcer. We will do a sound check in the Main Gym 8:30-9:30am and collect your CDs at that time. If your team needs a uniform/dangerous move check make sure to sign up for this at registration. It will be held during the coaches meeting. Marking will take place in the North Gym. Each team will be asked to sign up through a Google Doc for their own marking times. Use the link below to set up your teams marking times as they fit into your individual schedule and preparation. If possible, try not to schedule all teams for both jazz and kick in a row. It is hard to fit everyone in that way. If you need the link to the marking sheet, please let us know. We will be running a dual sided competition. The top third in each division will be awarded a trophy. Teams that are highlighted will be facing the north side (towards the sounds table) and all other teams will face the south side (away from the sound table). Please have spectators watch signs to verify they are sitting on the correct set of bleachers. Due to limited space in the gym, dancers will not be allowed to watch in the gym. Tickets will be on sale at 9:00am, gym doors will open to spectators at 9:30am, and the competition will begin promptly at 10:00am. The cost is $6.00 for students/seniors citizens and $8.00 for adults. Children 5 and under are FREE. Programs will be included in the price of admission. We will be selling dancer gifts along with delicious food throughout the day. Remember balloons, banners, signs, and food are not allowed in the gym area. We ask that an abundance of food not be brought into our school. Not only are concessions a fund raiser for us, our teachers policy is that food should not be eaten in the classrooms. Teams will be asked to sign a contract upon arrival to guarantee rooms will be left in the same manner as found. Take 80 th Street east to High School on right side (about 1 mile). From South: Take Hwy 52 North to 80 th Street. East on 80 th Street. School on right side (about 1 mile). **PARKING INSTRUCTIONS** Due to the size of our meet, parking will be in the following areas: Student Parking Lot: Front Parking Lot of the High School Middle School Parking Lot (enter off Cahill Avenue) Vermillion Bank (across the street- parking available there after noon) On street parking is also available on Boyd Ave (directly across from the high school) ALL Spectators need to enter through Door #1 which is the main entrance to the Simley
