1 SHENENDEHOWA WINTER GUARD Dear Colorguard: I want to start by thanking everybody for choosing the 2016 Capital Invitational. The show is scheduled for January 23, 2016 at 4:30pm at Shen High School East. Enclosed you will find directions, information regarding the details of the show, and the schedule. If you have any other questions regarding any of the information enclosed in this packet, please feel free to contact me either by phone or . If you would like to submit a write-up, photo, or both for our program book, please have them to me by Wednesday January 13 th. You can them if it is easier. Ticket prices for this year s show is as follows: Adults $6.00 Seniors and Students $5.00 Children Under 5 Free Everybody here at Shen is excited for the 2016 season and we want to make your trip to the capital of the state an enjoyable one, so please let us know if there is anything additional that we can do for you. 2 SHOW INFORMATION: Guards and staff should enter through guard check in the back of the the building. Just follow the signs. We will have a person videotaping, WE WILL HAVE A LOCATION FOR ONE PERSON TO VIDEO YOUR GROUP. Also remind your parents that they may tape ONLY your guard. Please submit your Spiel Sheet when you check in, if we don t receive one there will be no announcement. ONLY guard members and staff will be allowed in the dressing area. Please leave your room the way that you found it and do not leave valuables in the room unattended. PLEASE GO OVER THIS DETAIL WITH YOUR PARENTS SO WE DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. Sound checks may be done either before the show or during intermission. Bob English will be handling the sound. The cafeteria will be open in the afternoon and will remain open throughout the show. The Post-contest meeting will be held in the Band Room near prop drop off immediately following the show. There will be signs. Retreat will be captains only. EMT s will be on call throughout the entire show just outside of the gym. Smoking is NOT permitted ANYWHERE on school grounds. Judges will be provided by the New York State Federation of Contest Judges. Body Warm up will be held in a cafeteria. There will be only 1 guard at a time in the warm-up area. Equipment warm-up will be located in our second gym. Each guard will get 2 rotations in equipment in half of the gym.

3 DIRECTIONS: From the Oneonta area: Take Route 88 towards Albany. Once you arrive at the end of 88 pick up the Thurway towards Albany. Take the Thruway to Exit 24. After passing thru the tolls follow signs for 87 North. Take 87 North to Exit 9 Clifton Park. At the end of the ramp take a left. You will pass thru 2 traffic lights. At the third light take a left onto Moe road. ¼ of a mile up the road on the right hand side will be a sign for Shenendehowa Central Schools. Take a right at the sign and follow the signs for the show. There will be signs posted for guard check-in, equipment drop off and spectator parking. From the Syracuse area: Take the Thruway East towards Albany. Follow the Thruway until you arrive at Exit 24. After passing thru the tolls, follow signs for 87 North.
