After dancing with Chicago Tap Theatre, receiving multiple scholarships, including Giordano Dance Center, and touring the Netherlands and the eastern coast of the United States, Cait founded and currently directs TranscenDance Studios in Oak Park, Illinois, and its multi-faceted youth company program. An avid choreographer, Cait s work has been seen at Happy Feet and Fame movie promotions, industrials at Rotary International Headquarters, the Shedd Aquarium, Chicago s Museum of Contemporary Art, The Venetian in Las Vegas, and television commercials. She has also choreographed promotional videos for Lawson Products, theater productions for College of Lake County, and works for multiple concerts such as Dance Chicago, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Dance For Life, and the Russian International Dance Collaboration. Cait s work has won top awards at dance competitions and has placed within the top five in state for local dance teams. Cait also served as Artistic Director of Footprints Tap Ensemble, a renowned youth tap company, in which she has been involved with for over 19 years. Over the years, she has been contracted at dozens of studios for teaching positions spanning multiple seasons, as well as a guest instructor for workshops and intensives. Cait hopes to provide her students with the tools to be successful in the dance world as well as in all other facets of life. Acro Team, Minis, Petites At the age of 8, Stacy began gymnastics, but soon realized her love was for acrobatics and dance. She started to train in a variety of dance styles and began competing with a youth competition company. She went on to continue her dance studies at Gus Giordano dance school, which further sparked her interest in hip-hop and jazz. At the age of 13, she began training and competing with the nationally ranked Xtreme Dance Force. She traveled regionally and nationally receiving many 1st place national awards. Stacy attended Northeastern IL University on a dance scholarship and graduated with a major in Communications, Media, and Theatre and a minor in Dance. She trained with their dance program closely under the direction of Jamie Farrell and Venetia Stifler. Her choreography was chosen to be featured in the American College Dance Association adjudication concerts in 2015 and Stacy also danced with Gifted Souls, a professional latin and hip-hop fusion dance company. She traveled the country with the company and also placed 2nd in the world at the Ultimate Latin Dance Championship. Stacy began teaching here at TranscenDance Studios in 2012 and now also directs the TDS Acro Elites, Minis, and Petites. Stacy is currently embracing her love for all styles of dance and loves to share her passion with the dancers at TDS! 4 Hip Hop TransFuzion, Minis, Petites Trinity Dent began dance lessons when she was just 3 years old and has been dancing ever since. Understudies attend rehearsals of the group they are understudying free of charge. Potential understudies do not need to attend the audition of the group for which they would like to be considered. Large Group Understudies have minimal technique class requirements. See the Weekly Schedules for more information. SMALL GROUP: comprised of a select group of dancers performing at an exceptional level across the board in technique, stage presence, consistency, and work ethic. While participation in the company program as a whole requires dancers adhere to a maximum of seven absences per class/rehearsal, inclusion in Small Group demands near perfect attendance. Weekly rehearsals run a shorter length of time (45 minutes JTA, 30 minutes Acro, HHTF, TRT), and depend on having all members present in order to accomplish goals for the season. Participation in Small Group requires an additional fee to cover rehearsals, competition and costume fees. Dancers offered a position on Small Group are not required to accept the position if not able to fulfill the additional time and financial commitment. The Drop Deposit will not be withheld for dancers declining their position on Small Group as long as TranscenDance Studios is notified in writing within 24 hours of posted audition results. Company attendance policy Rehearsals will begin the week of Sunday, September 23, 2018 and will generally run weekly until auditions in 2019, except when TDS is on break. Dancers unable to attend a performance must step out of all performances within the two weeks before or after the missed performance, to avoid additional restaging rehearsals. Company rehearsal time should be spent improving choreography precision and performance qualities, not restaging. If dancers have any conflict within a reserved-for-performance time span, they must step out in order to avoid the necessity for multiple restaging rehearsals. Dancers must be available for all days of all scheduled competition weekends and required conventions in order to be eligible for company membership. (See Tentative Event Schedule in packet.) Good attendance at rehearsals is vital. A company cannot work if members are missing. Conflicts must be communicated at the beginning of the season. Members are allowed only seven absences from company group rehearsals, seven absences from Elites Open Rehearsal (HHTF, TRT, JTA, Acro), and seven absences from each required technique class year- round, including summer. This policy will be strictly enforced and may have an impact on future placement. 5

10 Additional Routines Returning company dancers at the Mini or Elite level may qualify to compete a solo, duet or trio in addition to the season s Company routines. Before committing to an Additional Routine, dancers must review all information below and thoroughly understand the additional time and financial commitment. Additional Routines are optional and may not be the best fit for all company dancers technical level and obligations outside of the studio. GENERAL INFORMATION Applications are distributed at classes the week following auditions and are due at the Parent Meeting. Applications for Additional Routines other than what is recommended will not be accepted. There may be a limit on the number of routines in a specific style/age range/category in order to avoid competing against other TDS dancers. The company directors will make decisions regarding styles and groups with the dancer s best interest in mind. The director maintains final say for all additional routine placement. ELIGIBILITY In order for dancers to be eligible for additional routine consideration, they must: be current members of the appropriate companies for the following styles: Hip Hop HHTF or Minis Tap TRT or Minis Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe JTA or Minis Acro Acro Team or Minis accept all auditioned company positions, including small group if offered. be returning company members (any team). TUITION & FEES All tuition and fees are in addition to standard company and studio tuition and fees. Additional Routine tuition and fees include a weekly rehearsal/choreography fee, entry fees for each competition, and costume fees; they may include other studio fees incurred in the additional routine endeavor. Competition and Costume Fees are not refundable, as costumes are purchased and competitions are registered for at the start of the season. 11 Additional Routines (continued) SCHEDULING Weekly rehearsal slots are set and retained for the remainder of the season. Changes to rehearsal slots may only be made one time and the change will be in effect for the duration of the season. Rehearsal slots are limited. A dancer s availability may dictate their choreographer or ability to accept an Additional Routine. Duos/Trios will not rehearse with a missing dancer. Cancellation of rehearsal must be made in writing at least one week ahead of schedule. Cancellation of rehearsal with less than one week notice will result in full fees due for the rehearsal. Upon cancellation of rehearsal, an attempt to schedule a make-up rehearsal will be made. If a make-up can not be scheduled based on dancer and choreographer availability, the account will be credited for the rehearsal. Any routine cancelling rehearsal more than 3 times over the course of the season may be dropped from the Additional Routine program without refund of tuition and fees. COMMITMENT Weekly 30-Minute Rehearsal: Dancers are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to their rehearsal to warm up and prepare. Rehearsals will begin immediately. Dancers should come prepared with a video recording device and be prepared to practice on their own time. Dancers should expect to rehearse their routine in a weekly 30- or 45-minute time slot until at least the final competition. Competitions: Additional routines are required to compete in the 3 competitions that TDS companies attend each season. Typically solos/duos/trios perform on days other than small and large groups (usually Fridays). There is always a possibility for solos/duos/trios to be scheduled during school on a Friday (particularly solos). While this is not usual, competitions will do this if they overbook. Dancers signing up for additional routines need to be aware of this possibility. Dancers and parents should be prepared for the additional time spent competing an additional dance at competition, as well as the additional costs such as added meals, gas, etc. Recital: Additional routines are required to perform in TranscenDance Studios spring recitals, unless decided otherwise by the director. RIGHTS TO CHOREOGRAPHY While dancers commission the creation of choreography, all rights to the dance remain the choreographer s own. This means you must request permission to perform routines anywhere other than what the choreographer has arranged for you. Permission must also be granted by the choreographer for any modification to choreography (including staging due to a change in the number of dancers performing) or costume. The choreographer must be credited on all printed programs, publications, and photographs. Any questions regarding this topic just ask. If you would like to do your recital dance in your school s variety or talent show, you need to: 1. Get your choreographer s/instructor s approval. 2. Get the studio director s approval. 3. Arrange for a private lesson with your choreographer/instructor if there is any modification to the choreography (different number of dancers than originally performed, different length of music, etc.). You can find more information about private lessons at the TDS reception desk. 4. All dancers originally choreographed into the routine MUST be included, if the performance venue allows. 11

16 General rules for dancers 1. Rehearsals are mandatory. A company cannot work if members are missing. Conflicts must be communicated at the beginning of the season. 2. You are allowed only seven absences from regular rehearsals, seven absences from Elite Open Rehearsal (HHTF, TRT, JTA, ACRO) and seven absences from each required technique class year- round, including summer. This policy will be strictly enforced and may have an impact on future placement. A temporary leave of absence may be granted due to extenuating personal reasons in lieu of resignation. 3. If you are unable to attend a performance, you must step out of all performances within the two weeks before or after the missed performance to avoid additional restaging rehearsals. Company rehearsal time should be spent improving choreography precision and performance qualities, not restaging. 4. Present yourself in a professional manner. This applies at all times, but especially in the presence of other dancers, teachers, and choreographers. You are representing your company, TranscenDance Studios, and Cait JonesSeebacher as your directors, and you can leave a lasting impression on someone with the way you dress, speak, or act. 5. No swearing, no drinking, no drugs. 6. Never walk away alone. Don t leave the group without letting someone know where you are going. 7. No inappropriate conversations. 8. No talking behind other people s backs. 9. Respect your elders, rehearsal directors, and other teachers. 10. Be early for everything. 11. Dress appropriately when representing the companies. 12. Be aware of what you put out there for people to view. As a TDS company member, you are a community fixture, not only in Oak Park but in the dance world as well. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and other social networking outlets are representations of yourself to the whole world, regardless of your privacy settings. 13. Don t be the bad apple that ruins the barrel. Attitude is contagious. 14. These rules apply to classes as well. Younger dancers admire you; one wrong move and we may lose a great dancer because that young dancer does not want to be like you anymore! 15. You must abide by these rules and the Dancer s Agreement. 16

18 TURNED IN AT AUDITIONS ACCOUNT NAME: An initialed copy must be on file at TranscenDance Studios initial all items. Parent: Dancer: COMPANY POLICIES ATTENDANCE POLICY - Rehearsals will begin the week of Sunday, September 23, 2018 and will generally run weekly until auditions in 2019, except when TDS is on break. Dancers unable to attend a performance must step out of all performances within the two weeks before or after the missed performance, to avoid additional restaging rehearsals. Company rehearsal time should be spent improving choreography precision and performance qualities, not restaging. If dancers have any conflict within a reserved-forperformance time span, they must step out in order to avoid the necessity for multiple restaging rehearsals. FEES & BILLING - Company large group tuition covers 12 months of membership and is on a monthly billing schedule. The first tuition installment for the season is charged in October and the last tuition installment for the season is charged in September of the following year. Company tuition is charged to your TDS account and is paid the same as your classes Monthly Auto-Debit. Company small group tuition covers 8 months of membership and is on a monthly billing schedule. The first tuition installment for the season is charged in October and the last tuition installment for the season is charged in May of the following year. Company tuition is charged to your TDS account and is paid the same as your classes Monthly Auto-Debit. Total participation expenses are amortized across tuition payments over the 12 or 8 month season. Tuition is due regardless of dancer s attendance. Seniors leaving for college will receive pro-rated tuition. Accounts must be up to date by audition date, or dancers will not be allowed to re-audition. DROP DEPOSIT - A $150 Drop Deposit will be due at auditions. If the company dancer fulfills their commitment for the season, the Drop Deposit will be credited towards their September tuition at the end of the season. Fulfillment of commitment for the season includes but is not limited to: 1) accepting positions in all companies for which the dancer auditioned. Dancers must decide prior to auditions what companies for which they are prepared to handle the time and financial commitment. Not accepting a company position after auditions occur will result in loss of the Drop Fee and possible removal from all companies. Declining a position on Small Group or as an Understudy is allowed as long as TranscenDance Studios is notified in writing within 24 hours of posted audition results. 2) attending the three principle competitions (February, March, April). Participation in other optional performance events is highly encouraged but not required. Future placement may be impacted if a dancer has consistent history of non-participation in optional events. 3) performing in all four shows of recital weekend. Elite level dancers perform with their regular technique classes in the Big Show, in a company production number closing each show for the weekend, and perform company group routines in the Company Showcase and select matinees. Minis & Petites perform with their regular technique classes in the assigned matinee show, and perform their company routines in the Company Showcase. 4) attending all days of the required conventions. Company dancers attend a style-specific convention once a year to study from new instructors, increase exposure to industry trends, make professional connections, and broaden the scope of their training. Attendance at all days, for the complete day, including any scheduled company performances, at required conventions is mandatory. Any dancer who does not meet these attendance requirements will be removed from their team and become ineligible for future seasons of the company program. 5) completing the season through the end of rehearsals in September of the following year. Exceptions to this rule can be made for dancers withdrawing from classes at TDS due to moving out of the area (proof of change of address required) or for physical injury (doctor s note required). Graduating seniors are excused to leave for school in August. 6) adhering to the seven absence attendance policy. Members are allowed only seven absences from company group rehearsals, seven absences from Elites Open Rehearsal (HHTF, TRT, JTA, Acro), and seven absences from each required technique class year- round, including summer. This policy will be strictly enforced and may have an impact on future placement. COMPANY SHOWCASE TICKET FEE - A $60 Company Showcase Ticket Fee per family will be charged with the February company tuition payment, to cover the cost of six tickets to the Company Showcase during recital weekend. COMPANY WARMUPS - There is a $110 fee for company warmups (jacket and pants), required by every dancer. These are ordered at the Company Parent/Dancer Meeting. If the same warmups style will be used for the new season, warmups from a previous season that still fit and are in good condition may be used. REQUIRED CONVENTION FEES - See the Required Convention page in this packet for specific convention fees and due dates. COMPANY TUITION - The Multiple Company Enrollment Discount is the only discount that may be applied to company tuition. Company tuition is discounted from 15% to 50% for more than one enrollment in a family. A company enrollment is defined as a position held in a group (not including free-of-charge Understudy positions). Discounts apply per family. Two dancers, each in one large group and one small group, would count as four enrollments. Discounts do not apply to master classes or special events. **Please note distinction between company and class when referring to discount tables. Company applies to audition only rehearsals. Class applies to required weekly technique classes. The Multiple Class Enrollment Discount Table can be found in the TDS Student Handbook. Variances in tuition amounts between teams and groups are determined by length of rehearsal and number of competing routines (additional competition entry fees and costumes). Total participation expenses are amortized across tuition payments over the 12 or 8 month season REQUIRED CONVENTION - Company dancers attend a style-specific convention once a year to study from new instructors, increase exposure to industry trends, make professional connections, and broaden the scope of their training. Attendance at all days, for the complete day, including any scheduled company performances, at required conventions is mandatory. Any dancer who does not meet these attendance requirements will be removed from their team and become ineligible for future seasons of the company program. Additional TDS T-shirts are available for purchase at the front desk for $25. ADDITIONAL ROUTINES - Returning company dancers at the Mini or Elite level may qualify to compete a solo, duet or trio in addition to the season s Company routines. Before committing to an Additional Routine, dancers must review all information below and thoroughly understand the additional time and financial commitment. Additional Routines are optional and may not be the best fit for all company dancers technical level and obligations outside of the studio. GENERAL INFORMATION: Applications are distributed at classes the week following auditions and are due at the Parent Meeting. ELIGIBILITY: In order for dancers to be eligible for additional routine consideration, they must: 1) be current members of the appropriate companies for the following styles: Hip Hop HHTF or Minis; Tap TRT or Minis; Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe JTA or Minis; Acro Acro Team or Minis. 2) accept all auditioned company positions, including small group if offered. 3) be returning company members (any team). First-year members will be adjusting to the program and will not be taking on the added commitment of an Additional Routine. 4) have successfully adhered to the company program attendance policy over the previous season. 5) be current on their account. TUITION & FEES: All tuition and fees are in addition to standard company and studio tuition and fees. Additional Routine tuition is charged to your TDS account and is paid the same as your classes Monthly Auto-Debit. SCHEDULING: Weekly rehearsal slots are set and retained for the remainder of the season. If a makeup can not be scheduled based on dancer and choreographer availability, the account will be credited for the rehearsal. Any routine cancelling rehearsal more than 3 times over the course of the season may be dropped from the Additional Routine program without refund of tuition and fees. COMMITMENT: Weekly 30-Minute Rehearsal: Dancers are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to their rehearsal to warm up and prepare.
