2 Page 2 TCBA News News from Headquarters by Keith Savoie Willie Wells was on hand to showcase Visionary Balls, The Classic and the Mixed Breed Solid and Pearl. The All Star tournament was held at City View Lanes in Ft. Worth, Texas. The tournament participation was similar to last year. We made a change to the division split for the Women, changing the average from 170 and below to 180 and below. This change made the divisions close to equal in participation numbers, 55 for division 1 and 52 for division 2. Brandy Sanderson, from the LA-Tex region, was our Division I women s champion winning 6 of her 8 matches, averaging 250 for eight games. She also became the first TCBA Champion to bowl exclusively Keith Savoie with Visionary equipment. TCBA President Eric Traylor, from Houston Independent North, was our Division I men s champion. Eric also won 6 of his 8 matches averaging 242. With this win he became a 6 time champion in TCBA All Star tournament history. He went into the championship match trailing by 89 pins, and rolled a 261 to capture the championship by 25 pins. Lotheronie Raby, from Houston Independent, captured the Division II women s championship by winning an impressive 7 of 8 matches in the finals. She averaged 195 for her games in the finals. Our Division II men s champion was Daniel Arriola from Dallas men. Daniels road to the championship was accomplished by winning 5 of his 8 matches averaging 215. Several award scores were shot at the tournament. 300 games by Wally Sculthorp and Chris Hayes as well as 299 s by Chris Hayes, Sandra White and Brandy Sanderson. The bowlers were not satisfied with perfect and near perfect performances. Chris Hayes, Brandy Sanderson and Kim Burnham also rolled 844, 813 and 816 respectively. As always I would like to thank City View Lanes for their hospitality during the tournament. Enough cannot be said about our tournament staff. Endless hours and never a complaint.
