2 Page 2 TCBA News News from Headquarters Keith Savoie Keith Savoie TCBA President Welcome back TCBA Bowlers! The TCBA Executive Board are elected for two year terms during the annual Delegates Meeting is an election year. The elected positions on the Executive Board consist of the President, Vice President, Treasurer and the Men s and Women s Executive Secretaries. The board members will be running for re-election; however, anyone interested in running for a position on the TCBA Executive Board must submit a resume to the Nominating Committee with a copy to TCBA Headquarters prior to February 1, 2018 (TCBA By-Law Article V, Section 7). Welcome back to a new season of TCBA. The Delegates meeting on Friday morning was held at our host hotel, The Eldorado Casino and Hotel. The TCBA executive board was introduced. Debbie Benton was introduced as the newly appointed Women s Executive Sargent of Arms to fill the vacancy. The meeting started with the dispensing of the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting. The national award winners were announced. Astro Super Bowl in San Antonio, TX was announced as the host center for the 2018 All Star / National Playoff Tournament on June 07-10, Congratulations to all of our 2017 champions. The All Star tournament found the Division I winners, Jack Soria from Dallas and Jovan Ebalaroza from San Antonio. Division II found Randy Rasmussen from Houston and Latarsha Williams from Dallas took the honors. The National Playoffs was won by Red Bird Lanes from Northeast Texas for the women and Beeville Strikers from Corpus Christi ended on top for the men. During the All Star and National tournaments a few achieved perfection with 300 games. Congrats to Gerald West, Curtis Howse and Tim Gensino. Many thanks to our TCBA tournament staff. The long hours do not go unappreciated, without them the tournaments could not happen. A special thanks to the management and staff at Holiday Lanes. Their attention to lane conditions and the bowlers is what made their tournament run smoothly. All the information needed for submission of items can be found in the bylaws. As a guide, the following is for your convenience: All rule and by-law change proposal must be submitted to the respective chairpersons with a copy to TCBA Headquarters prior to February 1, NOTE: Dates have been extended due to computer and data issues experienced over the last few months. Betty Stykes Shields August 11, 2017 The TCBA lost a great friend on August 11, Betty had a 38 year career in the TCBA. Her accomplishments were those that dreams were made of. Secretary of the Houston Gulfcoast region, Executive Women s Sargent of Arms, Member of the 1985 National Championship team Bellfort Eyelashes, 2011 Division II All Star Champion and the prestigious 2016 inductee to the Joe Cramer TCBA Hall of Fame. Betty, you will be missed.
