1 Welcome to America s Choice Pageant Productions! The first year was successful and eventful and we are ready for our 2nd Annual Event!! Anyone in any state can compete and you do not have to pre-qualify. ACPP prides itself on affordable, fun, natural pageantry! We are a natural pageant system. We do not allow any makeup on contestants ages 5 and under. School age makeup is allowed on 6-19 and natural, flawless, sophisticated made up look for Ms. and Mrs. age categories. Clothing can have bling. We understand the need for sparkle and encourage it. Custom clothing with embellishments and flair is encouraged as long as it is not a Glitz Costume. ACPP has a no fake rule. If it is a fake, we do not want to see it. This includes eyelashes, hair pieces, tans, flippers etc. Crowns, sashes and titles will be given to all who enter! 2 PAGEANT RULES AND INFO Modeling Pro-am modeling is not allowed during the Formal Wear or Casual Wear competition. We will have a standard T formation marked out on stage. 3 X s in back and 1 X in front. Use natural straight pageant walk. Show poise and grace in these competitions. Keep it simple. Modeling scores are not given however we would like to keep it uniform for beginners as well as old pageant pros! Free style modeling is allowed for the Runway Competition and Pajama Wear Competition. Babies 11 months and under must be carried on stage by one parent during competition. Babies are judged only on facial beauty and personality and there are no extra points or benefits to babies that can stand or walk. Contestants ages months must have a parent on stage with them. Contestants ages 2-3 years must have one parent back stage and may be on stage only if child will not go on stage otherwise. But coaching by parent, friend or coach on or off stage or behind judges table is NOT allowed. No parents, coaches or makeup artists or hairstylists will be allowed in Hallway Lineup for children ages 13 and up. This helps prevent chaos and keeps the hallway clear for pageant personnel. Props Props may not be used during Formal Wear or Casual Wear competitions. Props may be used for Talent, Runway and Pajama Wear competitions. Families and contestants are urged to promote good sportsmanship throughout the entire competition and throughout hallways, pageant parties and the hotel. Pageant representatives, judges, various directors and staff are always around. We are looking for contestants and families with a great spirit in competition! Bad sportsmanship is grounds for dismissal and disqualification without refund. Clothing can be custom made or off the rack. You re choice! Show your personal style while keeping it age appropriate and making sure you WOW the judges! Formal wear MUST be floor length for contestants ages 10 and up. Glitz pageant costumes not allowed. No slits or plunging necklines for girls ages 19 and below. 3 mandatory outfits are needed for Nationals. Casual Wear, Formal Wear and Interview Suit (for introduction). Interview suit for ages 4-9 can be nice Sunday dress or 2 piece skirted suit. 10 and up must wear a 2 piece skirted suit for Introduction portion. We do allow rhinestones, lace, sequins, etc. on Formal Wear and Casual Wear. If It is not a glitz costume or cupcake dress you are good to go and ready for competition! Onstage introductions will be recited on stage for ages 4 and up. Introduction must be 30 seconds or less and consist of name and hometown and then anything special you would like to add. Speak flawlessly and with age appropriateness. Makeup absolutely no makeup on contestants ages 5 and under. Light school age makeup on ages Keep it simple, flawless and fresh! Ms. and Mrs. Contestants must also possess a simple, flawless natural makeup look. No heavy make-up allowed. No fake tans, eyelashes, or flippers. Hair should be elegantly styled. No hairpieces allowed.

3 Photography absolutely no parent photography or personal camera devices allowed in the ballroom. This includes cell phones, IPods, etc. Use of personal photography is grounds for dismissal and disqualification of contestant. Please notify your friends and family of this rule. We will have an Official Pageant photographer for all your photo needs! Photo CD s will be purchased for $60 on pageant weekend. Judging please do not approach judges or emcee during pageant weekend. You may speak with them after the awards ceremony. Do not approach pageant directors or staff asking about scores or how your contestant performed at Nationals. We will be glad to speak with you after pageant weekend via telephone or . Scores will be made available one week after National event. The cost to receive scores is $10 via paypal. Scoring we use a basic 1-10 scoring system for all events. Scores are tabulated via computer on Microsoft Excel with our official tabulator inputting scores. Tabulator and judges only have access to contestant numbers and not names for overall fairness of tabulation. Scoring for ages 0-3 years is 50% Casual Wear and 50% Formal Wear. Scoring for ages 4 and up is 1/3 Casual Wear, 1/3 Formal Wear and 1/3 Onstage introduction. Ballroom entry contestants through Miss Categories are free with one free chaperone badge. Contestants in Ms. and Mrs. age categories are free with no chaperone badge. All others wishing to enter ballroom at any time must have a wristband on at all times. Wristbands must be WORN. Wristbands for ages 2 and up are $20 and good entire weekend. If you lose your wristband another must be purchased at full cost. Please notify your friends and family of door entry fees. Videography will NOT be allowed at Nationals. No videotaping of any kind will be allowed at any time. We are working to get a Videographer to film the event. Details will be ed to you before pageant date. Dressing Room--are not provided. We encourage everyone to get a guest room at our host hotel for a private dressing area. To help fight costs try and find a room buddy to share costs with. Optional contests can be entered at the door during pageant check in. Each optional is $50 each. Optionals available are Best Awards, Photogenic, Portfolio, Talent, Pajama Wear and Runway Model. Cash only---during pageant weekend to pay for Photography CD, Optional contest and door entries. No Food or drinks, except bottled water allowed in Ballroom at any time during pageant weekend. This can be grounds for immediate dismissal for entire pageant weekend without refund. By entering this competition, you release your likeness, vocals, choreography etc., to ACPP for website, promotions and photographs for promotional efforts.

4 TALENT RULES AND INFO 1. ALL entries have a 2.5 minute time limit to perform. A 5 point penalty will be assessed for every judge. CD accompaniment is preferred as we do not have set up for mp3 players. 2. Coaching from off stage in audience or from backstage during a performance to assist a contestant is prohibited and NO ONE is allowed near the judges table. Judges allowed scoring accordingly for this. 3. Dancers & Gymnasts this is a talent competition. You are not limited to how many tricks, tumbling passes, flips, etc. that you may have in your routine. Be as creative as you like. However, be advised that ACPP is not liable for any injuries while attending or competing at this competition. Keep in mind that the stage is usually portable and is NOT a fixed platform. 4. Vocalists ABSOLUTELY NO lead vocals are allowed on your CD. This means you may not sing along with your favorite artist and expect to be judged for it. Nor are you allowed to pre-record your own voice and sing over the top of it. Background vocals allowed only. Any vocalists that compete and sing over lead vocals will receive the lowest placing at awards. Select AGE APPROPRIATE songs. This is just as important part of your score as the performance itself. 5. Props are allowed for entries but there are a few that are prohibited: Fire, water, pyrotechnics, glass, swords or knives or sharp objects, live animals. At NO time can objects be thrown off stage. Large props are only allowed 1 minute for set up time. Point penalties will be assessed after that. There is no prop master so make sure you have someone that will set up and remove your props. 6. MUSIC SELECTIONS Remember there will be attendants of all ages. Please be conscious of other participants when selecting the content of your music. Excessive foul language in vocals will not be tolerated. Choreography presented showing displays of violence, social prejudice or overt sexual innuendo will result in sever point deduction. 7. Only one (1) song per CD is allowed. Do not give the sound booth a CD with several songs on it. They are not responsible for the wrong song coming on during your entrance to the stage. Even if doing more than one talent each must have its own CD. CD s must be labeled with contestant name and name of routine or song and presented alone or in a single slip or jewel case. NO CD books will be accepted. 8. Contestants may enter more than talent entry and must pay for each entry separately. Each entry will be judged separately. Entering multiple entries only increases chances to win due to that particular performance receiving a better score than the other. 9. Hand held mic supplied only. Personal headsets may be used but no sound check is offered.

Full Page $200 Half Page $100 Quarter Page $50 Business Card Size $20 Contestants selling ads are asked to obtain a business card, logo, letterhead, yellow pages ad, text, or camera ready copy from advertiser. Contestants must lay out their own ad pages showing how you want the ads printed. Print names clearly. Include a wallet size photo for each full page of ads you send in. Please include your name and age division on back of the photo. We will no longer design ad pages unless a $75 service charge is added to your order. Turn in ads and money to pageant office no later than Sept. 1, 2010 to pageant office with ad page, money, photo and ad record sheet. Do not hold checks longer than 20 days or we will not be able to cash them and you will not receive credit. Business checks MUST BE MADE payable to Tx Choice Pageants.
