Tuesday, September 20: Super Heroes vs. Villains Sport a super hero or villain shirt or dress up entirely like the character. (Remember to stay dress code appropriate. No masks. Makeup can be worn but not to cover your entire face.) Wednesday, September 21: Wilderness Wednesda y Wear an animal print shirt or any kind of outfit that would help you survive in the wilderness (think hunting or safari wear). Thursday, September 22: Classy vs. Tacky Decide whether you want to dress your best or your worst. Friday, September 23: S i i D y Wear blue and gold to show off your school spirit. Get creative! ***Remember to follow all dress code rules when planning/wearing your outfits.*** The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 24 from 8-10 p.m. in the Old Gym. Senior tickets cost $2 and everyone else is $5. Bring your school ID and ticket to get in. Tickets will be sold in the Main Office during Homecoming Week. You can bring someone from another school, but they must show ID and they will sign in alongside your name. We will have a DJ and the dress is semi-formal. The Pep Rally will be Friday, September 23 during 4 th block. We will introduce all fall athletes, have some fun, sing our alma mater and get into the spirit of the game. Remember, if there is any booing of other classes, there will be no more pep rallies in the future. There will be no student sign-outs after 1:50 p.m. on Friday, September 23. Please be sure to plan your

2 appointments and dismissals accordingly. We will vote for Homecoming Queen on Thursday, September 22 during a homeroom. You will see a picture slideshow of the candidates and vote. The winner will be revealed at the football game. Congratulations Lake Summers Lake was one of two students in Lexington District One who scored at the highest level possible, the platinum level on the WorkKeys assessment. Only 94 students across the state have earned this designation. Earning the platinum level certifies that you have the basic skills for 99% of the jobs in the U.S. Interims Interims are available on PowerSchool. If you do not have a PowerSchool log-on please provide a photo id to the Main Office and this information will be provided to you. Sergei Olegovich Alexeev James Morgan Clayton Jessica Noel Fields Ratna Himansu Patel In each annual National Merit Scholarship Program, about 50,000 academically talented high school students are honored, but only some 16,000 of them are named Semifinalists. Students who qualify as Semifinalists based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT ) are the only program participants who have an opportunity to advance to the Finalist level and compete for National Merit Scholarships. About 7,400 of the outstanding Finalists will be chosen as Merit Scholarship winners in the 2016 competition. Initiated in 1955, the National Merit Program is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance. A sizable number of National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2016 will be underwritten by NMSC with its own funds, but most will be supported by some 440 independent corporate organizations and higher education institutions.

Hello Parents, The Workkeys Pretest is a State requirement for all 3 rd year high school students to take. The pretest will be done on their ipads. The login information has already been sent to your students but if they do not complete the test by Monday, September 19 they will have to finish it during their ILT everyday until they finish. All three of these requirements must be completed prior to parking on campus. BASS / Fishing Club The LHS BASS FISHING CLUB will hold our first meeting on Thursday, September 22 at 6 p.m. in the Little Theater to go over the club requirements and an overview of the league rules. It is important that parents attend as well especially if your parent is allowing you to use their boat or will be the captain/supervisor" of your two person fishing team. October 13 from 2-5 p.m. Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Membership $20 (cash or check payable to LTC HOSA) HOSA is a student-led organization of future health care professionals providing opportunities for health career students to develop, practice and refine their leadership and teamwork skills. HOSA chapters promote career opportunities in the health and medical professions HOSA promotes community involvement HOSA students from LTC earn scholarships every year HOSA is for all students (not just Health Science students) who want to make a difference in their communities and in the lives of others HOSA students travel in SC, the USA, and internationally HOSA students have fun!

5 PSAT/NMSQT Test Information Our school will also offer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) test to all 10th grade students for $15. The last day to sign up is Friday, September 16. Please see Mr. McCormack in the Main Office to sign up for the PSAT. Any 11 th grader that wants to try and qualify for the National Merit Scholarship should sign up. If you have any questions regarding the PSAT, please call Mr. McCormack at LOCC CLUB LOCC is a part of the Lexington One Community Coalition (LOCC) District Task Force.
