6 AMODAU CYFFREDINOL AR GYFER POB DOSBARTH GENERAL CONDITIONS APPLYING TO ALL CLASSES 1. The RWAS Shearing Committee has adopted the rules as laid down by the British Isles Shearing Competitions Association to which the Society is affiliated. These rules will be applied to all Machine Shearing, Commercial Blade Shearing and Woolhandling Competitions. Stop buttons will be in use at the Royal Welsh Show. 2. Competitors must arrive at the Shearing Section on the Showground and report to the reception desk in person, one hour before the time stated in the schedule for the commencement of their competition. Failure to do this may result in the competitor concerned not being allowed to compete. The reception desk will close 30 minutes prior to the start of all competitions regardless of whether all competitors have registered their arrival. 3. All reporting times in this schedule will be strictly adhered to. 4. Competitors must use a comb protector on their hand piece at all times when not in use in the shearing pavilion. 5. On entering a competition, a competitor agrees to accept the prizes offered. Prize money will be paid by BACS after the Show. 6. The decision of the Chief Steward of the day shall be final. 7. Any competitor found tampering with sheep in the pens yet to be shorn may be disqualified. 8. Competitors take part at their own risk. 9. Only worm drives will be used at the Show. 10. Competitors are only permitted to participate under their own names and cannot nominate another competitor to shear in their place. 11. Competitors will not be allowed to wear trade vests etc., other than those issued by the Chief Steward. 12. No late entries will be accepted. 13. The draw will be done on a first entered, last heat system. 14. Competitors must wear suitable footwear and dress. 15. All Society owned Perpetual Trophies will no longer be presented during the Show. They will be on display throughout the Show in the Trophy Room, Clwyd Glamorgan Hall. 16. Where necessary, rules and regulations as printed in the Society s Livestock Schedule and Safety Policy Document, will apply. 17. A disputes panel has been established to deal with any practical issue which might arise on the day of the competitions. The panel will consist of the Chairman, Referees, Chief Steward, Judge and Competitor s representative concerned. 18. Any formal protest must be made in writing within one hour of the competition finishing together with a 25 deposit per objector. The Protest Committee will consist of the Show Director, Assistant Honorary Director concerned, the Chief Steward and the Chairman of the Shearing Committee. If the protest is not sustained to the satisfaction of the Protest Committee, then the deposit may be forfeited to the funds of the Society. 19. Any competitor who persistently enters a competition each year but does not turn up to compete must return their tickets and passes unused to the Society prior to the Show or immediately after the Show otherwise they could face disciplinary action in future. The entry fee will not be refunded even if the unused tickets are returned. 20. Competitors should note that sheep may have been dipped within four weeks prior to the Show; however, every effort will be made to ensure that they have not been dipped within this period. 21. All organisers, competitors and sheep suppliers will uphold all bio-security protocols currently applicable at all times. PEIRIANNAU HOGI ABRASIVE WHEELS/GRINDING MACHINES The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires all plant and equipment to be safe and used in a safe manner. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992 also requires the safe use of all equipment. To enable the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society to comply with these requirements, ALL abrasive wheels/grinding machines must be used as intended - with the guards provided in place at all times; only competent persons are to use the abrasive wheels/grinding machines, and the required protective clothing must be used at all times. Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to disqualification. Protective goggles and guards must be used at all times whilst grinding.

7 CLWB PWYLLGOR CNEIFIO DEFAID SHEEP SHEARING COMMITTEE CLUB You may have noticed many improvements to the Society's Sheep Shearing Pavilion, including improvements made to host the 2010 Golden Shears World Championships. These have been partly financed by the Committee and the shearers themselves through the 200 Club. In order that future projects can be undertaken without outside assistance, it is important to increase the number of members in the 200 Club. We would therefore be most grateful if you would consider joining and complete the form and mandate below. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated by both shearers and spectators. The draw will be operated as follows:- 1. Monthly prizes will be drawn: 15; 10; These prizes will be subject to alteration if insufficient tickets are sold. 3. There is a limit of one prize per member per month. 4.
