No. C12/2014 ACT Reg. Complaints Procedure: Any complaint made by an individual against the organisation or adjudication of an event must be made in writing, giving the complainant s full name and address, and shall be lodged with the organiser if possible on the day of the event and certainly not later than 48 hours after the event. Such a complaint is to be accompanied by the set fee of $5.00, which is refundable if the protest is upheld. (ABHDI Gen No 152, 2-3/5/09, p. 6 7iii.)

2 Championships will run concurrently. Championship ballot will be held at 9:15am with the championships to commence at 9:30am sharp. Intermediate and Restricted Premierships will commence immediately after the championships. Competitors in these sections are advised to arrive around 11:00 am. Premiership Dances: Jig, Laddie. Intermediate and Restricted Premier Premierships will commence with the Jig. Championship and Premiership presentations will be at the conclusion of the Premierships. The Aggregates, Trophy Dances and Special Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the section dances. All sections will commence immediately after the premierships with the following dances: Primary, Beginners, Novice and Intermediate sections will commence with the Fling. Premier sections will commence with the Blue Bonnets. Age groups for sections and Premierships will be decided on entry receipts. ALL competitors must be modestly attired at all times; a shirt, or similar, must be worn if vest or jacket is removed.

Intro: Either, 1 st (4 RF, 4 Singles LF, RF, LF, RF, 4 LF) (2 Arm Circles Bar 1 & 3) 2 nd, 5 th, 14 th, Finish Method 3 (2 turns). Basic Intro, Basic ending, 3 rd, 4 th, (3 Rocks Alt. ending), Highland Reel (movement with no Extension), Ending Assemble and Change (with or without Extension), 8 th, Last YEARS: HIGHLAND FLING: Intro, 1 st, 2 nd, 4 th, 5 th Alt, 6 th Alt (with or without travel), 8 th (2 turns) SWORD DANCE: Intro: Six count Bow (with rise), 1 st, 6 th, 7 th (Alt method bar 1), 8 th. Intro: With Step, 1 st, (MUST commence 1 st Shuffle with a Hop for Bars 4 & 8) (3 Arm Circles), 2 nd, 7 th, 9 th, 12 th, 14 th, Finish: Method 3 (2 turns) Basic Intro, 3 Alt Ending, 3 rd, 7 th Alt, Highland Reel (movement with Extension), Ending Assemble and Change (with or without Extension), 4 th, Last (Must use all 3 methods of Springs, Hops and roundthe-leg Movements within combination) CHAMPIONSHIP RULES 1. This competition is registered with ( ACT Reg. No 149 and ABHDI Championship Reg. No. C12/2014) and will be conducted under the rules and conditions as set down by SOBHD and as adopted by ABHDI. 2. Teachers, interested parties or any other unauthorised person must not communicate with Judges during the Championships. All enquiries to the official table. 3. A competitor who has taken part in any so called Championship not recognised by the Board or any person who has acted as a judge at such an event, shall be ineligible to compete or judge in any recognised Championship or Competition under SOBHD rules until given permission to do so by the Board. Such permission may be withheld for as long as a Board may decide. 4. According to SOBHD rules, there must be at least six entries in advance of the competition date, and at least six of these must take part on the day for the Championship to go ahead. In the event of less than six competitors dancing in any one championship, section will be danced but the Championship will not be recognised. No certificate, trophy or sash will be presented, but individual prize money will be paid. 5. Competitors do not have to remain in the marshalling area but must return for the correct order of ballot. The onus is on the competitor to return in time for the correct order of ballot. (ABHDI Technical 5/10/85 P 3 ratified ABHDI 6/10/85 P 8). 6. Any complaint made by an individual against the organisation or adjudication of an event, must be made in writing giving the complainants full name and address, and shall be lodged with the Organiser, if possible, on the day of the event, certainly not later than 48 hours after the event. Such complaint to be accompanied by a fee as determined by the ABHDI which is refundable if protest upheld. 7. All placegetters in Championships are to be dressed in KILT for trophy presentation. 8. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 9. a) With the advent of video equipment there be no restrictions on the usage of video equipment provided permission is obtained from the organisers and judges and it does not interfere with the smooth organisation of the competition/championship or in any way restrict the view of the judge/s. b) That judges and organisers should bear in mind that the judge s decision is final and cannot be subjected to a video replay.

4 COMPETITION RULES AND CONDITIONS 1) All dancers must be registered with their Regional or State Committee to be eligible to dance in this competition. Registration cards must be produced at the Competition to receive prizes. Prizes will be withheld until the card is produced. 2) Complete Highland dress MUST be worn for presentation of prizes. 3) Adjudicator's decision to be final except in cases of dispute regarding age or incorrect entry. 4) The Committee reserves the right to make changes. 5) Age of Competitors to be taken as at 31 May ) PRIZES: Medals for all pre-premier sections. Aggregates will be awarded in Beginners, Novice and Intermediate sections. Money prizes for all Premier sections - 1st: $20.00, 2nd: $15.00, 3rd: $10.00, 4th: $5.00. Trophies for Trophy Dances. 7) PRIZES will be awarded on the following scale: Under 5 Competitors 1st prize only 5 Competitors 1st & 2nd prize 8 Competitors 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes 12 Competitors 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th prizes 8) Premiership and Championship winners will hold trophies for 11 months. All holders of trophies will be held responsible for their safe custody and return at their own expense and in case of loss or damage, to pay the value for same. 9) RESTRICTED PREMIER: For those competitors who have not been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Championship at any age since 1/1/95. 10) If a dancer enters as Premier Restricted and is placed 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd in this championship, then the status of that dancer will remain Premier Restricted throughout the whole competition. 11 a) With the advent of video equipment there be no restrictions on the usage of video equipment provided permission is obtained from the organisers and judges and it does not interfere with the smooth organisation of the competition/championship or in any way restrict the view of the judge/s. b) That judges and organisers should bear in mind that the judge s decision is final and cannot be subjected to a video replay. 12) Dancers must fill in for REELS if requested by the organiser. NOTE: If a competitor fails to fill in unless for a medical reason the Organiser has the right to enforce Rule 1f, Page 28D-Judges, SOBHD Rules & Regulations, which reads Provide due prominence is given to the fact in the program or in a brochure by the Organiser, then during the course of a competition the comportment of the competitors may come under the jurisdiction of the judges, not only whilst dancing, but also when entering or leaving the platform and whilst waiting for the dance to start. Any unseemly behaviour on the part of a competitor or any misdemeanour likely to upset the decorum of the proceedings may be penalised by the judges and could lead to disqualification, but a full report of any such misconduct on the part of a competitor must be submitted by the judges to the organiser. (ABHDI 2-3/598 P11). 13) Medical Certificate dated for the day of/or prior to (including the date of) this competition must be provided to obtain a refund. 14) Any rules pertaining to competition or Championship, released by SOBHD or ABHDI from the time of printing the schedule to the date of the Competition or Championship, will be adhered to. 15) Any complaint made by an individual against the Organisation or Adjudication of an event must be made in writing, giving the complainant s full name and address and shall be lodged with the Organiser, if possible on the day of the event and certainly no later than 48 hours after the event.
