A parent / guardian must attend one booster club meeting during the student athlete s scholarship application year 4. If parent / guardian attend a booster club monthly meeting, each parent / guardian is awarded one volunteer credit for their scholarship applicant 5. One volunteer credit will be allocated for each volunteer signup worked by a representative of the applicant or the underclassman student athlete (applicant) A representative is defined as an adult (18 years or older) A volunteer sign up consists of working concessions, football security, Team Parent Rep, Team Web Master and Booster Club Committees If a family has more than one underclassman student athlete, they must indicate which student athlete the credit applies to NHS Student Athletes can receive both one volunteer credit and NHS hours for each Volunteer Sign up 6. Volunteer credits are accrued from the May General Membership Booster meeting through the following April General Membership Booster meeting of the applicant s underclassman year. The scholarship will be applicable for the subsequent school year. Example parent attends four (4) booster club meetings and works the concessions for eight (8) games (i.e. Football, basketball, etc.). The applicant will have twelve (12) volunteer credits in the blind draw raffle. The more meetings you attend and the more volunteer credits you earn, the better the odds for your student athlete. 7. Two (2) Pay to Play fees (or $165 paid toward a club sport s registration fee ) awarded to student athletes of each Underclassman class (Freshman, Sophomore & Junior) 6 total awards 8. The student athlete must submit a 100 word essay on what it has meant to them to be a team member on an Eisenhower Sport or any other team sport. 9. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above as of the end of the first semester of applicant s underclassman year 10. During their underclassman year, the applicant is required to have good citizenship and attendance, as determined by school administration, including no out of school suspensions 11. Recipients are chosen by a blind draw performed by the Eisenhower High School Principal and witnessed by an Athletic Booster Club representative. Winners will be announced at the May General Membership Booster meeting of the applicant s underclassman year 12. A Pay to Play scholarship (or $165 towards a club sport registration fee) will be awarded to the student athlete in the form of a certificate. When the student athlete is required to pay the Pay to Play Fee (or club sport registration fee) the following school year, contact the Athletic Boosters and present them with the certificate. A check will be written directly to the respective organization (Eisenhower Athletic Department or the specific Club Sport). If the student is not playing a sport the following year the Scholarship is forfeited. 13. Application deadline applications can be turned in at any booster club meeting, or submitted via to the booster club president up to April s General Membership Booster meeting. No late applications will be accepted 14. Winners will be announced at the May Athletic Booster s General Membership meeting of the Student Athlete s underclassman year Rev 3/7/2018
