3 Presidents Report Umbrellas and raincoats seemed to be new additions to regular cricket gear during the season, yet the boys and girls and their respective coaches certainly did themselves proud in skills they were learning and the sportsmanship they showed throughout the season. Bligh Park Cricket Club continues to perform strongly in all age groups both seniors and juniors. This season the club fielded 9 junior teams up from 6 and 4 senior teams, so a big thank you to all the coaches who offered their services at the beginning of the season. Our junior teams gave 100% all season resulting in all the teams fighting to make the semifinals. Rain hampered a number of the teams run to the semis and then the final with all the semi-finals being washed out. Two teams made the finals, the Under 12A Blue s and the Under 14B White s working hard but missing out on the day. We had 2 mighty under 10 teams - although they do not play semis both performed very well and showed vast improvement under the coaches guidance. The club also continued with the highly successful in2cricket programme this season which will contribute to the future of the club for many seasons to come. In the last month the Bligh Park Cricket Club has gained a major sponsor in Windsor Leagues Club. They join the very important current group of sponsors who have been supporting us for a number of years. Congratulations to all for a wonderful season.on behalf of the club, I would like to thank the coaches for their time and effort in working with the juniors this year. We have a great group of coaches whose help and dedication is greatly appreciated by the players, parents and the committee. To the players and the families a special thanks for supporting the Bligh Park Cricket Club, I hope to see you all back next season. Steve Winters President Bligh Park Cricket Club Inc.

The three major trophies are: Point Score Batting Average Bowling Average As often happens, a team has a certain special individual, who manages to achieve the best in all three categories. In recognition that cricket is a team sport, these trophies are shared, with no one person winning multiple of those awards. Simply the next best eligible player receives the specific reward. The policy exists for the Under 10 s through to and including the Under 14 s. The aggregate awards are omitted from this policy and are awarded to the actual winner. Bligh Park Cricket Club feels this is both fair to the team and to the award winners and emphasises BPCC s team philosophy. The qualification for awards is in line with the HDCA award policy, but with a modified (lower) cut-off factor for runs scored or wickets taken: Applicable to all age-groups: Must have played in more than half of the matches Under 10 s: Batting: Greater than 80 runs scored Bowling: More than 8 wickets taken Under 11 s to Under 16 s Batting: Greater than 120 runs scored Bowling: More than 10 wickets * If no-one is eligible, then it is awarded in order of the highest wicket taker or scorer of runs.

7 UNDER 10 s WHITE SEASON TEAM REPORT The Under 10 s White had a good learning year. Even with lots of wash out games and training nights, the boys still developed their skills. We worked lots on bating and bowling as well as fielding drills and the boys were eager to learn which makes it easy for coaching. We came up against some big hitting boys and fast bowling kids from other clubs but the Bligh Park boys went out to the middle and did their best. I am sure in two or three years they will be an outstanding young team. As the coach of the Bligh Park Under 10 White team I would like to thank the parents for their support and for the trust that they had in me as the coach. I have made many good friends through the season. I would also like to thank them for all the help with training, scoring and umpiring on the weekends. I could not have done it without this help. Thanks Jack, Conner, Mitchell, Angus, Dyllan, Lachlan, Ramone, and Nnoah. I hope you had lots of fun this year. It has been a pleasure to coach you boys through cricket season. All the best. 10 UNDER 10 s BLUE SEASON TEAM REPORT Our team was very much a family affair with three pairs of siblings making up six of our eight players. For the majority of the team it was their second year of cricket, moving across from the Windsor Cricket Club last season. This certainly made my job easier this year as most players knew what to do once we took the field. The 16 over rotation system used in u/10 s gave each player opportunities with both the bat and ball each week during the season. The team performed well during the season particularly in their running between wickets. On an individual level all players displayed plenty of enthusiasm and it was great to see each player make improvements in their game as the season progressed. Special mention needs to be made of Dale Meere who is the younger brother of both Isabella and Logan. He made his debut against North Richmond as a replacement for Isabella. With very little experience I was concerned how many times he could hit the pitch in an over? He surprised all by taking two wickets and being on a hat-trick in just his first match. I would like to thank all the parents for their encouragement and support of both the team and myself throughout the season. When scoring we used a roster system so each parent had a turn on the scorebook. I think this gave them all a better understanding of the game and an appreciation of the difficulties of the job. On behalf of the team and parents I would like to thank the Committee for all their efforts and support throughout the season. As we found out last season, without all their time and dedication there is no club. Hope to see all players back again next season. Isabella Meere - This was Isabella s first season of cricket. She performed very well with the ball taking 5 wickets for the season. Her batting was very solid and she is starting to hit the ball hard and show a good range of shots. Logan Meere - Logan performed well with both the bat and ball. Logan had the top score for the season with a score of 31 against Riverstone. He also was a regular wicket taker. His fielding and wicket keeping were also very good. Brayden Shields - Brayden was our main leading wicket taker for the season with 9 wickets. His main strength was his ability to bowl straight. He needs to continue working hard on his batting as he has a sound technique as a base. Hayden Smith - Hayden performed well with both the bat and the ball. He also displayed good leadership by encouraging the bowlers and helping the younger members of the team on many occasions. Ryan Smith - Ryan was the youngest member of our team. He only stood half the size of many boys he was facing when batting but rarely took a backward step. He also performed well with the ball taking 5 wickets.
11 Adam Street - Adam was solid all season with bat and ball. This season he hit his first boundary which I am sure he won t forget. He generally bowled a good line and was unlucky on many occasions with the ball. He also performed well behind the stumps when wicket keeping. Blake Williams - Blake performed well with the bat all season and was our leading run scorer for the season. With the ball he probably bowled the best length of all bowlers but was unlucky on many occasions. Ryan Williams - Ryan displayed significant improvement this season particularly in his batting technique. He played several good innings towards the end of the season. He bowled a good length but still needs to work on his line. Also impressed with his both his wicket keeping and fielding throughout the season. Andrew Williams - Coach

16 UNDER 12 s WHITE SEASON TEAM REPORT This is the third year I have trained this team of boys. We did have a few new players to the team although they just slotted in straightaway. I am really so proud of the team, and would have to say in 7 years of coaching this has been among the most rewarding and enjoyable. I am really proud to have been part of these kids lives. Our team was made up of nine players playing up a grade. This means they would qualify for U11 s. This was the first year these boys had played real competition cricket officially in the HDCA. Every player fully participated with the bat, ball, wicket keeping, and fielding. I would like to congratulate all the team on playing great cricket! Thank you to all the parents, cricket can take up a lot of time. Your help, enthusiasm, encouragement and praise you give the kids are priceless. A personal thank you to Jason Sultana for assisting with coaching. Most importantly, a very special thank you to our team manager, Sonia Gurney. Thanks to Sonia being so organised I think we always had everything we needed before I could even think of it! Zac McClifty Our Master Blaster returned hungry for more runs. This year he held a secret weapon, contact lenses. Zac smashed the ball all around the park including a couple of hook shots that Ricky Ponting would have been proud of. By the second half of the season Zac was smashing so many boundaries I lost count. Without a doubt our biggest run scorer with a no fuss approach. Zac was also good at bowling and took quite a few wickets. Well done Zac. Zac Sultana I think that Zac has now qualified as our teams Mr Cricket. I would have to say he has been our most enthusiastic player this year. Zac has become our fearless wicket keeper, with incredible skills to stop the ball at any cost. In the field Zac took a few catches that our U16 s would have been proud of! Zac has an aggressive batting and running style which created a lot of pressure for the opposition. Great work Zac. Patrick Keating Patrick was new to our team this year although very well known by all the Chisholm boys. He turned out to be our best opening batman for the 50 overs games as he would wear out the bowlers with his excellent playing within the Vee. Patrick is very good at bowling and made some excellent break throughs just when we needed a wicket. I look forward to seeing Patrick in our team next season. Excellent year Patrick. Lachlan Burnell-Anderson Lachlan is always ready to play cricket. He loves to be involved always giving one hundred per cent to the team. Lachlan has improved in all aspects of the game. Most of all his batting partnerships and running between the wickets was very good. Well done Lachlan.
17 Callum Denning Callum has improved his bowling very well this season. He has taken many wickets. Always with a smile, Callum plays his cricket in a no fuss manner. Callum loves his bowling and batting, he also loved to have a turn at wicket keeping. Callum has an excellent calm approach to cricket which will do him well in future years. Good work Callum. Declan Egan Declan is one of our leading wicket takers this season. With excellent repeatable accuracy his economy rate is very good. Even the much bigger opposition batsmen really struggled to get bat on ball. In the batting Declan built good partnerships and especially enjoyed batting with Lachlan. Well done Declan. Drew Gurney When Drew returned after the Christmas break I was amazed at the huge improvement in his bowling. Drew is an excellent listener and trains and plays always with full effort and enthusiasm. Drew did very well at batting, scoring runs and building good batting partnerships with his team mates. My choice this year for the Coaches award, I am very pleased for Drew to be the winner this season. Great work, Drew. Alex Laney Alex has a great love of cricket. He works hard on all aspects of the game and has made excellent improvement. Alex had excellent ability and strength when batting and punished the bowl many occasions. Very strong bowler and fielder, I look forward to watching your cricket for many years. Great work Alex. Adam Burzynski This was Adam s first season of cricket. It is always great to have players who are so enthusiastic to learn, practice, and play with 100% effort every week. Adam and his Dad did lots of practice outside of training time and it certainly showed as all aspects of his game improved as this season progressed. Well done Adam. Brett Egan - Coach

20 UNDER 12 s BLUE SEASON TEAM REPORT It was a great year for a very young side that haven t played a lot of cricket together, plus weather during the year made it even harder with the lack of training possibilities. I feel now that they all have a year of cricket under their belt, together next year the side will really prosper and may even have the chance to go one better and win the final. I want to thank all the parents of the kids, not just for bringing their kids to all the training and games, but also for making coaching the kids enjoyable. Also thanks to Allan Mitchell for scoring all year. It s these little things that make it possible to have an organised team. Oscar Stubbs Was very good with the ball with his little outswingers... Blake Flood With the best hands in the team he also gave good direction in the field. Cameron Kwok With good captaincy skills and at times looked good with bat and ball. Connor Mitchell Looked good with bat and ball and had a good pair of hands in the field. Jedd Stonehouse Always gave us a good start with the bat and very consistent. Mark Harkins Came midway through the season, but looked good at opening position with Jedd. Shannon Thurling Improved his bowling as the year went on and always kept training fun. Ayden Ramm I think that everyone would agree that he was the most improved, particularly his bowling. Brad Williams Started the season with medium pace, but improved his spin bowling near the end to give Jack a spin partner next year. Connor Liso Gave the side a great advantage with some good keeping and with the bat looked very correct. Jack Walden Gave us good variety with his spin bowling and was always keen to improve his game. See you all next year! Jason Stubbs - Coach
