3 Presidents Report As we reflect on the season just past Bligh Park Cricket Club continues to perform strongly in all age groups both Seniors and Juniors. This season the club fielded 6 junior teams and 4 Senior teams and we were also willing to make some hard decisions to keep the juniors playing competitive cricket as well as ensuring the seniors had plenty of numbers. Our junior teams gave 100% all season resulting in 3 of 4 teams making the semi finals. We had 2 mighty under 10 s teams - although they do not play semis both would have been pushing for a finals birth which all goes well for the 11's for next year. The Under 12 s just missing out on the semis in the final round coming down to the final few overs. The 2 combined 13 s /14 s teams both making the semi s, also the 16 s were semi-finalists but all just falling short in the end with the pressure of semi-finals cricket. The club also continued with the highly successful in2cricket programme for the 4-9yr olds. The Club fielded 4 senior teams and were all very competitive. The 2 nd grade started off slow put picked up some confidence building wins towards the end of the season which is a positive sign for next season. The 3 rd and 6 th Grades were both comfortable semi-finalists and would have troubled the top 2 teams but the weather intervened knocking them both out in the semis. The same circumstances enabled the 5 th Grade side to move into the Final where they remarkably came from being all out of 77 in their first innings to roll the opposition for 72 then batted the day out and win the final. Well done to the 5 th Grade side on amazing win. Congratulations to all for a wonderful season. The club and I would like to thank all involved for your time and effort in making this an enjoyable and successful season particularly the Senior captains and Junior coaches. I would also especially like to very much thank the Bligh Park Cricket Club committee for all your hard work, support and drive to continue the clubs success both on and off the field. To the players and the families a special thanks for supporting the Bligh Park Cricket Club, I hope to see you all back next season. Kind regards Steve Winters President Bligh Park Cricket Club

No figures may be incorporated from a lower grade. (b) Batting average - a player must have at least the same number of innings as there are opposing teams in that grade and score not less than two hundred and fifty (250) runs in all matches. (c) Bowling average - a player must procure at least twenty (20) wickets in all matches. Where a team has no players eligible for an award, the bowler with the most wickets or batsman with the most runs becomes eligible for the award. Statistics While we Endeavour to ensure the accuracy of the information in this year book, the quality of what goes into your scorebooks reflects the quality of your season's final statistics. As often has it, scores are recorded by the opposition or players who are not necessarily skilled scorers, so it's important that you regularly review that your statistics are correct and complete throughout the season. Life and 10 Year Members Life Membership is the highest form of personal recognition for any member (player, coach, committee or other volunteer) who has contributed significantly to Bligh Park Cricket Club above normal means. To be eligible for nomination for Life Membership of the Club a person must have demonstrated that he or she has actively assisted the Club in achieving its objectives over a period of time prior to his or her nomination for Life Membership. 10 Year Members are those who have contributed or played 10 consecutive season either solely for Bligh Park Cricket Club or a combination of 10 consecutive years of only Bligh Park Cricket Club and Representative Cricket. While not linked to Life Membership, this is recognition from the club of a players loyalty and the value we see within it.

11 3 rd GRADE SEASON TEAM REPORT As captain of the 3rd Grade side, I would just like to thank everyone who pulled on the whites and played as both permanent 3rd Grade team members or as fill ins. Our team had some mixed results this year, with most players struggling to score runs, that s with the exception of Dave Wassall. We did manage to get some good results with the ball though, and Glen Corcoran, Heath Lane and Ben Mitchell did their best and delivered each week, and they were supported by Dave Wassall and Chris Smith. Our fielding efforts could be described as interesting, or maybe patchy at best. Lead by our keeper who proved that while he can catch a ball behind, he probably should have appealed to take his keeping gloves into the field, because he did drop more than one catch (luckily no one is counting though). He was backed up by Sam Belcastro in the slips who took some great catches. The boys were very unlucky in the semi finals when Mother Nature delivered a Wash Out Result, which seen us lose our chance to play through the finals series. We had previous good results against North Richmond, but our game plan was officially useless against the wash out, which allowed Northo go on to win the comp. Special thanks to Steve Winters for helping to organise team drinks, and to Dave Flood who would store them and bring them to each game cold. A refreshing drink is always welcome in the heat and especially when things are not going well on the field, so thanks guys. While everyone loves a good win, I'm sure the guys would agree that our main aim is to have fun on the pitch each Saturday, which I feel was easily achieved. Thanks to the great bunch of guys that made up the team, and while it was a disappointing result, it was an honour to captain the team. And remember, there is always next year to take out another baggy cap. Cheers, Stubbsy Jason Stubbs Captain 3 rd Grade

15 5 th GRADE SEASON TEAM REPORT I would first like to thank all the members of my team for a fantastic year that we had my first cap in 10 years of playing cricket for Bligh Park. To all the young guys who filled in for us this season thank you for your help. My next big thank you for a great year goes out to our bowlers and the effort that they put in all year especially the grand final to get bowled out for 77 and to roll them for 72 was just out standing and I thank you for your great effort. Another big thank you goes to Justin for taking the catch that won the grand final and for his input when I needed to think about things. He suggested another point of view which added to what I was thinking anyway and helped changed things our way. To all the members of 5th grade this year I think we really achieved something much more than just winning the comp. That was that we all played for the fun and enjoyment of it and with this the results just came our way. I will finish with one last thing for this year We won YEAH BABY Steve Magner Captain - 5 th Grade

19 6 th GRADE SEASON TEAM REPORT 6 th grade started the season with a great mix of some old heads in Dave Jones, Mick Byrne, Dave Lloyd, Craig Hazell and Paul Cowley, and some terrific young fella s ranging from 13 to 17. With the skill shown by many of the juniors throughout the year, BPCC has some great years to come, not only do these guys have great ability, but a great attitude, and a strong sense of sportsmanship. The junior brigade was led by the multi-talented Adam Worsley, and Rowan Lloyd was not far behind opening the batting nearly every game. We had a lot of youthful energy from the year olds, Nick Cowley opening the bowling with Josh Dickie or Daniel MacGregor, and Ethan Sweeney playing in his first year of cricket, showing he is going to be a very talented leggie. Harley Hilder was our Mr fix it bowling when needed, holding up the batting line up, and keeping as well. Our bowlers put us in a position to win in virtually every game, it depended on if our batting clicked, some games it did with Monty often getting us off to a big start & Dave Lloyd hitting a superb 170 not out over two weekends was the highlight of the season. Craig often got off to good starts and looked solid, but it was often not enough for all of us. We did a good job of getting to the semi, but the rain washed out our season. We would all like to thank all the juniors for playing at different times, Jarrod Brett, Nathan Egan, Brett Egan, Dom Tynan, Josh Kwok, Cooper Kwok, Harry McCredie, Alex Clarke, my apologies if I have missed anyone. All the players join me in a huge thank you to Ian Macgregor who not only scored all year but also did all the MyCricket work as well. The main thing is I am sure everyone enjoyed the season.
