1 SAVP Reel Conversions CS Technical Product Support November 24, 2008 Revision A - 3/23/2011: Added part numbers for 3-Reel+Bonus conversions. SAVP machines can be ordered in 3-Reel, 4-Reel and 5-Reel spinning reel configurations. Converting these machines to any of these types is rather easy. The reels themselves also can be converted so new reels do not have to be purchased. This instruction is being written with the understanding that the reels will be converted rather than purchased. Refer to the document titled SAVP Reel Mechanism Conversion. This document can be found on the CS Secure Website. The following should give you all of the parts necessary with instructions on how to perform these conversions. Your existing game will have a single color upper LED board. Your new parts will be the TRI Colored LED board. A new program set will be required to accommodate your new theme. Tools Required: 7 MM Nut Driver #2 Phillips Screw Driver #1 Phillips Screw Driver Time on Task: In ideal conditions this should take approximately 30 minutes. Reference information: FF=Full Fruit=FF reel strips have 22 symbol stops (No Blanks) JPO=Jackpot Only=JPO reel strips have 11 symbol stops. The upper LED board assemblies are consumable parts. Open main doors. 2. Remove the existing reel assemblies and set aside for parts conversion. 3. Remove the 2 M4 screws that hold the reel shelf in place. Remove the reels. Remove the 2 screws that hold the reel shelf in. 4. Slide the reel shelf out slightly to gain access to the harness connections on the reel driver board. a. Disconnect the harnesses from the reel driver board. 5. Remove the reel shelf. 6. On the door, cut the tie-wraps at the anchor points so the harnesses can be removed from the plastic barrier. 7. Disconnect the harness connectors from the upper and lower LED boards. The lower LED board connection will be used again the upper one will not. Page 4 of 6

Cut harness anchor points. Remove harness connections. 8. Remove the upper LED board assembly by removing the 3 M4 screws. The upper LED board will not be reused. 9.

Loosen the 2 M4 nuts and the 2 M4 screws on the bottom of the reel light barrier and remove the top 2 M4 nuts to allow the reel glass to be removed. 10. Remove the existing reel glass. 11. Finish removing the reel light barrier. 12. The lower LED board does not need to be removed as this part is constant for all configurations. Page 5 of 6

Remove the 3 M4 screws for the upper LED board. Remove the 4 M4 nuts on the sides of the reel light barrier. 2 on each side. Loosen the 2 M4 screws at the bottom of the reel light barrier. 13.

6 Remove the 3 M4 screws for the upper LED board. Remove the 4 M4 nuts on the sides of the reel light barrier. 2 on each side. Loosen the 2 M4 screws at the bottom of the reel light barrier. 13. This gets the door to final dis-assembly. Locate the new parts to be installed. There is no specific order in which the machine needs to go back together. It may be easier to start with the door and then move to the reel shelf and reels. 1. Install the reel light barrier leaving the top 2 nuts off to be able to slide the reel glass in. 2. Install the reel glass and tighten all 4 of the M4 nuts. 3. Install the upper Tri-Color LED board assembly. 4. Route upper and lower LED harnesses and tie off using the supplied anchor points. 5. Mount the reel driver board to the back of the reel shelf. 6. Install the reel shelf in the machine and make the harness connections on the back of the reel driver board. 7. Using the document titled SAVP Reel Mechanism Conversion; convert the reels to the new configuration. 8. Update the machines game programs using existing program update procedures. 9.
