2 Club Challenge Rules & Information Sheet Sunday, April 23, 2017 Wharton County Youth, representing different clubs throughout Wharton County, will participate in a variety of fun events in which each team will compete to win prize money to help support their club. Every club entered must be a 501c3 organization. There will be no interaction with animals. It will just be fun games such as Wheelbarrow race, sponge race, sack race, etc. All action will take place in the Johnson Arena at the Wharton Co. Youth Fair Grounds on Family Fun Night. Each club team consists of 6 youth members between the ages of Entry will be $30.00 per club. Clubs may obtain sponsorship from local businesses (they will receive recognition at the event), they can be sponsored by their club, or a group can enter to support a club. Only one team per club will be allowed. A trophy will be presented to the winning team. There will also be a $ cash prize for the club with the loudest/biggest cheering section! Come dressed to have fun and get dirty.

3 Game Ideas 1. Wheel Barrow Race One person sits in wheel barrow, driver is blind folded and passenger has to give directions through cones. After the first two people cross the finish line, the next two people go and so on. A point is earned for each time they cross the finish line. 2. Worm Race Six people stand behind each other and put a water balloon between them. They put their hands on the next person s shoulders and don t turn loose. They have to walk though cones and back to finish line without dropping or breaking a balloon. If they drop or break a balloon they have to start over from start. This will be a timed event. 3. Ball carry between knees - Put the ball between your knees and walk from start to finish line without dropping. You must drop the ball in the bucket at finish line without touching. If you drop the ball or touch it with your hands you have to start over. Every time someone completes the task your team will receive a point. Next person does not start until you tag them. 4. Sponge race - Put one water bucket full of water at starting line and one empty water bucket at finish line. Put a big sponge in each start bucket and they have to transfer water from start bucket to finish bucket with sponge. (They can either pass it down the line or take turns running with sponge, administrations choice.) If you do it in a line, after the sponge gets to the end bucket, team members hand the sponge back down the line to be refilled. The team with the most water in finish bucket wins. A ruler will be used to measure water. 5. Find the soap Fill two water troughs half way with soapy water and drop in four bars of white soap and one bar of colored soap in each trough. Each team gets in a line behind each other. The first person goes to the trough and finds the colored soap. After the person finds the colored soap they drop it back in the trough and another person goes. You see how many times everyone can find the colored soap. Each time the colored soap is found your team will get a point. 6. Sack Race - Two people race against each other to the finish. Once they cross the finish line then they get out of the sack and bring the sack back for next team mate. Each time a team member crosses the finish line, the team receives a point 7. Life Saver Race - Give everyone on each team a toothpick with a small paper liner by mouth. Give the first person a lifesaver candy to put on their toothpick. All team members stand in a line and the lifesaver has to be passed from toothpick to toothpick with hands behind back. If lifesaver is dropped, you have to start over with another lifesaver. When you get to the end another lifesaver will be given to start again. The last person cannot take the life savers off the toothpick until the game is over. Object is to see how many lifesavers you can accumulate on the last toothpick. The number of lifesavers on the last toothpick will be your total points. 8. Balance act - Carry Water Balloon or egg on plastic spoon from start line to finish line without touching or dropping the object. If you drop or touch you have to start over. See how many times your team can get across the finish line. Each time they cross the line your team receives a point. 9. Pass the water - Water bucket full of water at start, empty bucket at finish. Each person gets a small cup and they stand in a line between the buckets. First person gets a cup of water then pours the water in the next person s cup and so on down the line; the last person pours their water in the empty bucket at the end. The team with the most water in the end bucket wins. Water is measured with a ruler. 10. Tug of War

4 11. Pass the orange - Everyone stands in a line; the first person puts an orange under their chin, then passes it to the next person under their chin without touching the orange with their hands. If the Orange is touched with hands or dropped you have to start over. The Orange should be passed all the way to the last person. When they get to the end they can start over again and see how many times they can pass it down the line before time is up. You get a point for ever time the orange makes it to the end. 12. Soccer ball pitch - Stand back behind the line, one at a time try to pitch the soccer ball in a water bucket without turning it over. Every time you get a ball in the bucket without turning the bucket over you get a point. Continue until the horn blows. 13. Washer pitch - Stand back behind the line, one at a time try to pitch a washer into a buried tuna can, keep it up until the horn blows. Every time you get a washer in the can your team gets a point. 14. Putting green Stand at the end of the 10 putting green and see how many balls your team can get in the cup. Each person gets one hit and passes the club back to the next person. Every time you get a ball in the cup you get a point. Continue until the horn blows. 15. Pass the banana - Everyone lies on their back, head to foot. First person in line puts a banana between their feet and passes it over their head to the person behind them. If the banana is dropped you have to start over. See how many times you can pass it down the line without dropping it before the horn blows. 16. Balloon Master - Each team gets a roll of masking tape and 30 balloons. When the horn blows, members of each team roll the masking tape (stick side out) around one of their teammates below the neckline. As some are putting on tape others can be blowing up balloons (which have to be a minimum size and cannot fall into a Solo cup) as quickly as they can and stick the balloons on the tape. After all balloons are on the teammate, that person has to walk through the cones and back without losing balloons, balloons cannot be re-attached. The number of balloons on the person at the finish line is the number of points you get. 17. Roll the hay bale from start line around a cone and back for next person. 18. Herd the ball - Using a pig whip, move a beach ball from starting line to finish line and back, maneuvering through cones.

5 2017 WCYF RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT In consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, for being allowed entry into and participation in activities (the Activities ) associated with the Wharton County Youth Fair & Exposition, the undersigned hereby enters into this RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT (this Agreement) as of the date set forth below. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS: The undersigned recognizes and understand that there are risks associated with their participation in the Activities including, but not limited to, bodily injury or death to persons and damage to property. The undersigned further acknowledges and understands that they and/or any persons (including, but not limited to, minors) under their care and control, and that arise out of, or are related to, the undersigned s entry into and participation in the Activities. APPLICABILITY AND SCOPE OF RELEASES AND INDEMNITIES: for purposes of this Agreement, Claims shall mean any past, present and future claims, losses, costs, expenses, liabilities, demands, or causes of action, and costs of defense or settlement (including, without, limitations, attorneys free and court regardless of whether the Claims to be release, waived, or indemnified against arise, or are alleged to arise, from (i) NEGLIGENCE(WHETHER SOLE, JOINT OR CONCURRENT), Gross NEGLIGENCE, NEGLI- GENCE PER SE, and/or STRICT LIABILTY, of the Wharton County Youth Fair & Exposition or its present and former officers, directors, members, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, volunteers, staff, and/or agents and any other person, firm or corporation bound to defend or pay judgments against them (the Released Parties ); (ii) personal injury, death or property damage; (iii) acts under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act ( DTPA ); (iv) acts of any other persons or guests; (v) theft, burglary, assault, or other crimes; (vi) fire, water, wind, rain and/or smoke and/or (vii) any other risks and hazards associated with the undersigned s entry into and participation in the Activities, including, but not limited to, the general conditions at the Activities, animals both wild and domestic that may be diseased and/or potentially dangerous, persons with firearms both on and off the premises used in connection with the Activities, and the driving or riding in any vehicles, whether belonging to Released Parties or to other persons. RELEASE FROM LIABILITY: The undersigned hereby RELEASES, ACQUITS AND FOREVER DISCHARGES, and WAIVES any and all Claims against any of the Released Parties that arise from or relate to their entry and participation in the Activities- including, but not limited to, the types of claims enumerated in Parties shall not be liable to them, their family, or their guests, for personal injury, property damage, or any other Claims arising from or related to the undersigned s entry into and participation in the Activities. AGREEMENT TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS: The undersigned agrees to INDEMNIFY and HOLD HARMLESS the Released Parties against any and all Claims arising from or related to the undersigned s entry and participation in the Activities including, but not limited to, the types of Claims enumerated in minors under their care and control and/or his or her parent/guardian, and for any Claims asserted by, through or under the undersigned, arising from or related to the undersigned entry into and participation in the Activities- including, but not limited to, the types of Claims enumerated in Paragraph 2. As used herein, INDEMNIFY means to agree to assume the Released Parties liability in a situation, thereby relieving them of responsibility, and/or reimbursing the Released Party for Claims asserted against them. PHOTOGRAPH INTERVIEW RELEASE AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT: The undersigned GRANTS PERMISSION to be PHOTOGRAPHED or INTERVIEWED in connection with the Activities. The undersigned understands that any such photograph or interview may be used by the Release Parties or television, film video, visual, graphic or printed media. The undersigned agrees to RELEASE and INDEMNIFY the Released Parties with respect to any Claims related to the usage of such photographs or interviews by the Released Parties or any media including, but not limited to, the types of Claim s enumerated in Paragraph 2. As further inducement to the Wharton County Youth Fair & Exposition to permit the undersigned s entry into and participation in the Activities, the undersigned represents that they thoroughly and completely understand that this a complete and final release and indemnity agreement, that they are freely and voluntarily entering into this Agreement, and that no representations, promises or statements made by and Released Party, or any agent, attorney or other representative of any Release Party has influenced the undersigned in causing them to sign this Agreement. The undersigned understands that this agreement shall be binding on their heirs, executors, successors and assigns, that the Agreement will be governed by the laws of Texas, and that jurisdiction and venue for resolution of any dispute regarding this Agreement shall lie in a Texas State Court in Wharton County, Texas. If any part of this Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, it does not affect the validity of the remainder of the Agreement. The undersigned agrees to the terms and conditions above, and acknowledges receipt of the Agreement. Note: Signature of Parents and Contestant MUST BE THEIR OWN.
