1 L I T E R A T U R E S O U R C E S Although, until the authors of the Cornish Hedges Library tackled the problem, hardly anything had been written specifically about Cornish hedges, there are many glancing references among other material and many other subjects are associated. The occasional papers published by the Cornish Hedges Library have inevitably been compiled with reference to a multitude of sources. To annotate the text would have rendered it difficult to read. Most records are located in the Morrab Library, Penzance; the Museum of Cornwall, Truro; Cornwall Records Office, Truro, and the Cornish Historical Environment Unit, Truro. There is an enormous mass of material available, but it is much regretted that so many of the Cornish records are kept in London. Any diligent search will produce much of interest that has not been included below. Additionally every year brings forth fresh studies which may have a bearing on our knowledge and understanding of Cornish hedges. Allen, D.E. (1971); Bramble-dating.
