Mai 1983 Abstract In the running waters of South and NorthAndaman seven species of fishes were recorded: Clarias batrachus (INNÉ, 1758); Heteropneustes fossilis (BOCH, 1797); Aplocheilus panchax (HAMI TON & BUCHANAN, 1822); Doryichtys insularis (HORA, 1925); Ophiocephalus (= Channa) gachua (HAMITON & BUCHANAN, 1822); Eleotris andamanensis (HERRE, 1939); Periophthalmus barbarus (INNÉ, 1758). The AustrianIndian Hydrobilogical Mission 1976 to the AndamanIslands has collected in different running water systems of South and NorthAndaman between headwaters and the mouthzones. The recorded specimens of fishes were determinated by J. P. GOSSE (Chief of the Section of ishes; Royal Institut of Natural Science of Belgium, Brussels).
