3 Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB) is located on the coastal Highway A1A near South Patrick Shores on one of the outermost barrier islands in Brevard County FL. The whole area is colloquially known as the "Space Coast." PAFB is located just south of the world famous Cocoa Beach and just north of Satellite Beach. It is between the Atlantic Ocean (to the east) and the Banana River (to the west). The Air Force Technical Applications Center is located on PAFB. We hope you enjoy your time here, and request that you consider the following in preparing for your visit: SECURITY INFORMATION AFTAC is a secure facility and all visitors must pass their clearances prior to their arrival. You must pre-coordinate your visit with a current AFTAC POC. 4 DIRECTIONS from AIRPORTs From Melbourne International Airport (MLB) or South of PAFB: 1. Go toward the airport exit on Air Terminal Pkwy 2. Bear LEFT on Air Terminal Pkwy 3. Turn LEFT on W. NASA Blvd (SR-508 E) heading east 4. Go straight on W. NASA Blvd to N. Harbor City Blvd (US 1) 5. Turn LEFT on N. Harbor City Blvd (US 1) heading north 6. Turn RIGHT on Eau Gallie Blvd, heading east 7. Turn LEFT on S. Patrick Dr (SR-513) heading north 8. Continue on S. Patrick Dr to PAFB south gate 9. Follow road to available parking around the AFTAC building (see photo of designated parking areas on page 4. Orlando International Airport From Orlando International Airport (MCO) or North of PAFB: 1. Go toward the north airport exit on Airport Blvd 2. Follow signs for north exit to State Road 528 (Beachline) 3. Take exit State Road 528 (Beachline) east to Cocoa Beach 4. Stay on SR 528, Beachline - turns into SR A1A 5. Stay on SR A1A through Cocoa Beach 6. Continue to PAFB main gate 7. Once through the main gate continue to stop sign (Falcon Ave) 8. Turn LEFT on Falcon Ave and continue to Atlas Ave (S. Patrick Dr) 9. Make a LEFT on Atlas Ave and continue past the flight line to the designated parking areas shown on page 5. 2

5 Patrick air force base Entry from the East Gate AFTAC Parking From North Gate entrance on Jupiter Ave, go to first stop sign. At stop sign, turn left onto Falcon Ave to next stop sign. Turn left onto Atlas Ave. which turns into South Patrick Drive. Take South Patrick Drive to the 5-story AFTAC building on your right hand-side. Turn left into our parking lot. Cross South Patrick Drive at the stop light. 3

6 Patrick air force base Entry from the South Gate AFTAC AFTAC From South Gate entrance, follow South Patrick Drive to the 5-story AFTAC building on your left hand-side (at the stoplight). Drive through the stop light and turn right into the east lot. To enter AFTAC, cross South Patrick Drive at the stoplight and the entrance is to the right. 4

Sebastian Municipal Golf Course (Beachside)...Reasonable The 18-hole "Sebastian" course at the Sebastian Municipal Golf Course facility in Sebastian, Florida features 6,717 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.7 and it has a slope rating of 112 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Charles Ankrom, the Sebastian golf course opened in Cocoa Beach Country Club (Beachside)...Expensive You'll find this 27-hole layout on a peninsula surrounded by the Banana River Lagoon. It's a beautiful setting for golf with an abundance of waterfowl, other birds, dolphins, alligators, turtles and more. Club amenities include a popular "19th hole"! 3. Duran Golf Course (Mainland)...Expensive This Chip Powell design is one of Florida's great new courses. With constant coastal breezes and true rolling greens, you'll find a different challenge every time you tee it up at Duran. 13 SPACE COAST FISHING Florida's Space Coast offers some of the best fishing in the United States! There are very few places in the world which offer the variety of species found on the Space Coast. You can catch big bass and crappie in places on the St. Johns River, you just have to know where to find them, ask us. You can catch giant Redfish, huge Trout and Snook along the Indian River Lagoon and we can tell you where to fish. You can even get the excitement of Billfish action offshore in the Atlantic The Space Coast is hard to beat, from freshwater to deep sea, the fishing is absolutely great! Our local experts can send you to the right spots to satisfy your fishing appetite and come home with a great catch. 14 SPACE COAST RUNNING LOCATIONS Wickham Park, Melbourne Miles and miles of off-road trails. Great for running, walking, and bike riding. There is also a 1.25-mile loop around the park on asphalt and a 5k-course throughout the park. From Beachside, take Eau Gallie Blvd West to US1 (Harbor City Blvd), turn Right (North) on to US1, turn Left on Parkway Road. Park is on the Right, approximately 1 mile from US1. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island Beautiful scenic view of the Banana and Indian Rivers. Asphalt surface with lots of speed bumps to slow traffic. Five-miles to Pineda Causeway and back for a 10-mile course. From Eau Gallie Blvd, turn Right on South Patrick Drive. Turn Left on South Tropical Trail. Park immediately on the Left at Oars and Paddles Park. Rockledge Drive, Rockledge Beautiful scenic course along the Indian River (route of the Space Coast marathon). Starting in Cocoa Village at Riverfront Park, head South along Rockledge Drive for 6-miles to US1 and back for a 12-mile course. Cocoa Village is located on the Southside of State Road 520 (King St) on the West side of the Hubert Humphrey Bridge. Eau Gallie Causeway, Melbourne Beautiful view of the Indian River with a breeze most of the time. Parking is available on the East-side of the Causeway. Melbourne Causeway, Indialantic The causeways are basically the only hill workouts available. Another scenic view of the Indian River. Turn Left on Melbourne Causeway while going South on US1. Turn Right into Front Street Park (on the Right) approx ½-mile after turning onto the Causeway. Lots of parking and a small walk to the Causeway. Patrick AFB, On the Beach Great workout especially at low tide. Beautiful early morning runs when the sun is just rising. Head North on Highway A1A, plenty of parking along A1A near Patrick AFB. Turkey Creek Sanctuary, Palm Bay Off-road trails with a 2-mile loop on the nature trail. From US1, turn West on Port Malabar Blvd, go 2-miles and turn Left at the Turkey Creek sign at the Palm Bay Community Center. 12
