1 Harrisburg Hunters And Anglers Harrisburg Hunters & Anglers Association Meeting 1 st Tuesday each month 7pm 6611 Hunters Run Rd. Harrisburg, PA CLUB OFFICE The club office is open during club meetings. Day guest passes, belt buckles, club license plates, pins and targets are available for purchase at those times. SHEESLEY LAKE The lake is open for fishing. Fishing is for members only! Vice-President s As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, let us never forget all that we have to be thankful for as United States citizens. We enjoy freedoms and rights that are not available to citizens of most other countries. Your club would like to thank all of those members who work so hard to make HHA what it is. Your club is volunteer run and managed. Many members dedicate a lot of time to many different areas and interests. Some of those efforts are behind the scenes and never really noticed by our members. All of this keeps costs down and makes membership in HHA enjoyable and affordable. It would be unfair to some to try and list all of those who volunteer their time and efforts for the benefit of HHA, if we tried to do that surely somebody would be missed. So again, a thank you to everybody for all that you do. HHA has a large membership but the bulk of the work and volunteerism is done by only 5% of our membership. If you have an area of interest that you would like to get involved with or if you are interested in developing a new program at the club let an officer know. We can always use more assistance and new ideas. Thanks to everybody for all that you do. Be Safe and VOTE. 4 ANNOUNCING CHAMPS.COMPETITIVE HARRISBURG AS- SOCIATION OF MARKSMANSHIP PROGRAMS HHA has a new association in its midst, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called CHAMPs, or the Competitive Harrisburg Association of Marksmanship Programs. CHAMPs was established to support the competitive youth shooting programs at HHA, including the BB Gun Team, the Air Rifle/Smallbore Team, and other competitive youth shooting teams that are developed. These may include archery, pistol, shotgun and high power. The association promotes sportsmanship, and provides an environment where youth can develop qualities such as respect, discipline, leadership, and self-confidence. In addition, the competitors learn problem solving skills, and how to handle stressful situations. CHAMPs will provide an avenue for collaboration with other teams and coaches so youth can achieve their full potential through clinics and competitions, and receive additional training from outside coaches. The association will assist the youth teams with funding for equipment, supplies, and travel expenses. CHAMPs provides an avenue for competitors to learn how to properly compete in their discipline and achieve their full potential, whether it be competing on a club team, an NCAA team, or even higher For further information or to make a tax deductible donation, contact Burt Rusty Stockton , rstock1966@gmail.com or Chris Harr , charr2393@gmail.com.
