Central Arkansas Shooters Association (CASA) Come Shoot With Us Revised February 2012
USPSA Do you like to shoot handguns? So do we! USPSA is a practical shooting sport. This is the same shooting sport that you have seen on The Outdoor Life channel. Sign in is at 9:30 am and shooting starts at 10:00 am the first Sunday of the month. But you should always check the Calendar on our Web site for verification: Required equipment: (If you do not have enough equipment, call me before the match and we will figure out something. We want you to shoot with us.) 9mm/.38 Special handgun or larger in safe working condition (auto or revolver) 3 magazines minimum, preferably 4 (speed loaders for a revolver) 2 magazine/speed loader carriers that ride on the belt Belt holster for your gun Usually 130+ rounds of ammo, but if possible bring 200+ rounds (you can always take it home) Protective eye and ear wear is a must Comfortable clothing so you can move easily, including a cover garment that is a shirt or jacket Competition-only equipment is NOT required! There are several divisions in which you can shoot, and your carry gun will most likely fit in one of those divisions! Call Ron Johnston at , 7am-8pm, rjohnston@aristotle.net, or review our Web site for more information: You can also access to learn more about this exhilarating sport. Men, women, and responsible juniors accompanied by an adult are all welcome. Safe shooters only! Don t bother bringing a smile because WE WILL send you home with one. You do NOT have to be a member of CASA or USPSA to shoot a USPSA match.
Steel Challenge Dubbed as "The Ultimate Display of Speed and Accuracy", the speed on steel format has proven to be the single most exciting shooting sport in almost two decades. It is not only extremely popular among shooters, but has proven to be the most media and spectator friendly of all Professional Competitions as well. Recent coverage of the Steel Challenge on The Outdoor Life channel, clearly illustrated the point. The return of Steel Challenge has created a resurgence of steel shooting, as well as the production of targets, steel guns, and associated equipment. However, holding to the same unique format as Steel Challenge, we will be promoting the varied categories that are friendly to all gun and action types of 9mm and larger. The CASA categories include: Centerfire Open - a centerfire pistol that has a red dot or scope mounted on the gun. Centerfire - a centerfire gun without a red dot or scope. Rimfire Open - a.22 rimfire pistol with a red dot or scope. Rimfire - a.22 rimfire pistol without a red dot or scope. Centerfire is drawn from a hip holster and then fired. Rimfire is fired from the "I.S.I. ready position, which is described as both elbows touching the competitor's side with the muzzle pointing downrange and the finger off the trigger. Sign in is at 9:30 am and shooting starts at 10:00 am the second Saturday of the month. But you should always check the Calendar on our Web site for verification: We normally shoot 5 or 6 of the 7 stages available for just $10 for a regular club match. We choose different stages each month. Come on out and check it out. Don t forget you gun and ammo. Five (5) stages of fire will require 125 rounds if you don t miss. We all miss the targets, so plan on bringing 250+ rounds. Call Ron Johnston at , 7am-8pm, rjohnston@aristotle.net, or review our Web site for more information:
IDPA Do you like to shoot handguns? So do we! IDPA is a practical shooting sport. Sign in is at 9:30 am and shooting starts at 10:00 AM the third Saturday of the month. However, you should always check the Calendar on our Web site for verification: Required equipment: (If you do not have enough equipment, call me before the match and we will figure out something. We want you to shoot with us.) 9mm/.38 Special handgun or larger in safe working condition (auto or revolver) 3 magazines minimum (speed loaders for a revolver) 2 magazine/speed loader carriers that ride on the belt Belt holster for your gun Usually 80+ rounds of ammo, but if possible bring 150+ rounds (you can always take it home) Protective eye and ear wear is a must Comfortable clothing so you can move easily, including a cover garment that is a shirt or jacket There are several divisions in which you can shoot, and your carry gun will most likely fit in one of those divisions! William Goose Changose at wchangose@aol.com. Review our Web site for more information: Men, women, and responsible juniors accompanied by an adult are all welcome. Safe shooters only! Don t bother bringing a smile because WE WILL send you home with one. You do NOT have to be a CASA or IDPA member to shoot an IDPA club match.
Central Arkansas Shooters Association (CASA) This club was established in 1990 by Metropolitan Sport Shooting Association, and Practical Shooters of Arkansas. The purpose of this organization is to maintain a club for the promotion and encouragement of the shooting sport, teach safety in the handling of firearms, and to foster good fellowship, education, and cooperation among shooters and in the community. This is a private club, but is open to the public on Match Days for you to compete or watch. You may find a match day by reviewing the Calendar at our Web site: CASA has the following amenities: Fourteen pistol ranges with nine 12' x 12' sheds to shield sun or rain Club House with separate restrooms for men and women, air conditioner, and heater Running water Telephone Refrigerator Microwave 40' x 60' pavilion for meetings or just cooling off in the summer Rifle Range and 200 yard distances CASA has hosted four National IDPA events; 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Nationals. CASA has also hosted numerous USPSA Section Handgun Championships along with the fun Hillbilly Classic. All CASA members receive a key to all of the facilities. Members are on the honor system. Guests are permitted when accompanied by a member. CASA offers three different shooting sports: USPSA, IDPA, and Steel Challenge. Join our fine club or just come and shoot with us; we would love to have you! CASA is located outside Little Rock on Highway 10 just before you reach Perryville. We have very specific directions to the range including GPS coordinates on our Web site at
