Harwood 17pts Every time a golfer makes a birdie, he must subsequently make two double bogeys to restore the fundamental equilibrium of the universe VETERANS: From the Handicapper Countback System As you are aware, the scores for each competition are now displayed on the TV screen in the Clubhouse thanks to everyone inputting their scores after they have played. The scores as displayed on the screen are in the finishing order as calculated using the Australian Countback System. The Slice handicapping software used by the Club automatically applies this system to each score and then sorts these to display the final results. This software has been approved by Golf Australia and Golf Victoria. The Australian Countback System is described in the Club s Program Book and is shown here: For 18 hole Handicap events, ties can be decided by a countback of the back nine holes; second countback over the last six holes; third countback over the last three holes and finally hole-by-hole from the 18 th hole. For stroke play competition the net score for the last nine holes, last six, etc. is calculated by comparing the player s handicap to the index of each hole to ascertain the equivalent net score. The final round of the 2014 Men s EGDVGA season was held at Bairnsdale on December 15 th. Several players from Sale attended. This was the final of the 5 Championship rounds, held throughout the year. (The 3 best rounds, of the season, are used to decide the Champion) Sale s Peter Neligan won the Championship for He also won the A Grade Competition for the day with a score of 41 stableford points. After the event the Veteran s AGM was held and the Bairnsdale Golf Club was selected as the organisers for the EGDVGA 2015 and 2016 seasons. For and Par events, the scores as shown on a player s card can be used for countback purposes since the player s handicap has already been applied when your marker ascertains the score for each hole. For stroke play handicap events however, the net score for each hole needs to be calculated to be able to compare tied players results over the last 9 holes, last 6 holes etc. Fortunately the handicapping software does this for us automatically. Hence for all competitions as displayed on the TV screen, the scores are in the correct order as determined by the Australian Countback System.

7 TAKEN TO THE CASINOS OF ORIGIN AND CASHED IN. THIS IS DONE BY THE CHIP MONKS. YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING DID YOU? -- I TRULY DID NOT KNOW THIS! Yesterday I was at my local WOOLIES buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Biscuit, the Wonder Dog and was in the checkout line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had; an elephant? So since I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. Las Vegas Churches accept gambling chips THIS MAY COME AS A SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU NOT LIVING IN LAS VEGAS, BUT THERE ARE MORE CATHOLIC CHURCHES THAN CASINOS. NOT SURPRISINGLY, SOME WORSHIPERS AT SUNDAY SERVICES WILL GIVE CASINO CHIPS RATHER THAN CASH WHEN THE BASKET IS PASSED. SINCE THEY GET CHIPS FROM MANY DIFFERENT CASINOS, THE CHURCHES HAVE DEVISED A METHOD TO COLLECT THE OFFERINGS. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.). Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I chased a cat onto the road and a car hit us both. Woolies won't let me shop there anymore. THE CHURCHES SEND ALL THEIR COLLECTED CHIPS TO A NEARBY FRANCISCAN MONASTERY FOR SORTING AND THEN THE CHIPS ARE
