1 RED CAPS GOLF MONTHLY REPORT Also on the website Activities for what we did in APRIL 2018 Hi Lads, PRESIDENT S PASSING WORDS I think the time is opportune for me to reflect a little on the past 8 years, as my tenure expires at the end of this year and I'd like to pave the way forward! We, as a group, have grown from around 55 members in 2012 to just over 80 members at present. Our achievements have been of great value to all: - The transfer from EPR to Red Caps, has proved to be the right decision, as we have gone ahead in leaps and bounds since then! - The Honour Board is some thing to be proud of and we should all aspire to have our names included thereon. -Rich River has become an important highlight on the calendar with over 40 (Golfers and Partners) venturing this year and I would expect even more in We now have a regular MatchPlay event against the Peninsula Legends which has proved to be keenly contested and played in the right spirit. -We are fortunate to have good sponsors with Maroondah Golf and House of Golf providing vouchers and over the years "Callaway" have been very generous in providing plenty of golf balls and caps. Their day is well attended each month. -The Ladies Morning Teas are a very popular monthly event. We should all be very proud of our standing in the Ringwood community. We are easily recognisable with our shirts and hats and we all have a responsibility to protect our image. I would like to thank Jen for her outstanding support over the journey! The Committees have been a great source of ideas and we all have one focus only and that is "how do we implement ideas for the betterment of the entire group". The heart and soul of any organisation is the MEMBERS and I take this moment to thank you all for the way you have embraced me and my ideas. Red Caps can only get better and the future is very bright. The Committee have nominated Roger Henderson as your President and Wayne Banks as Secretary. Of course these positions will need to be ratified at the next Annual General Meeting. Again, thank you all for your support. Peter Denier Page 1

Games Milestones Ted Naylor 300 Bruce the Stats said this on the 13th April Hi Peter Not sure it is worth a mention or not, but we have now had 99 birdies and 2 eagles on the 9th Hole for the year thus far. 6 RICH RIVER POEM 2018 Well here we are: we re off again, we ve come up to the Murray To play a bit of golf and then we ll try the chef s new curry, We brought the lady folks along, to join in the frivolity And set before us tasty snacks and other fine novelitee. Our Peter s off to Europe this year companied by his Jen, So last trip at the helm in charge of business this is then E s done us proud, we ll call out loud and praise the work e s donefrus, And raise a glass and kiss is arse for battles he has wonfrus. Now some of us are crackin up, there s Jimmy with his shoulder And Wazzas knees are wobbly; the joys of gettin older! But stout of heart the older guys still come round playing weekly To drive and pitch and putt and sling the bull not too discretely. Moama s just a lovely place, to belt that little ball round, The bunkers loose, the greens are trimmed, in rough you ll get yer ball found, The fairways beautiful in green, their long fine boundaries beckon And Lennie s fit, he should get past the sprinkler now, I reckon. When this event is over and we all are homeward bound We ll pull away quite early and hardly make a sound And hurtle down the highway to see the cheese and kisses Not me, I m off to Wang to see the grandkids with me Missus!
