4 Essendon Country Club Player of the Year Essendon Competition Country Details Club 2014 Club Coaching (Free Entry) - All of the events on the previous page are qualifying events for our Player of the Year award which lasts the whole of These events will take place on EVERY second Sunday of the month and EVERY Tuesday in the Half term holidays. - To play, you are required to book in online via the intelligent golf website using your necessary log in details (please see crib sheet in this document where it shows you how to do it). -All competitions are completely free of charge so there is no need to top up your competition account. - The tee times are clearly listed on the previous page. However the junior section will play in three separate categories. Category 1 - Those players with 28 handicaps or less and able to play from the main competition tees Category 2 - Those players that have graduated from the Academy Programme Category 3 - Players currently enrolled within the Silver and Gold Academy process - Points will be awarded to the top 10 players with first place receiving 20pts with tenth place being awarded 6pts. - Each player who takes part will also be awarded 5 extra points unless they are disqualified or NR from the event. - The player with the highest combined points after the last event on the 13 th November will be awarded the Player of the Year Trophy.

6 Essendon Country Club 2014 Club Coaching (Free Entry) Online Check in to Competitions and Matches Competitions - How it works: You can access the facility by going to Competitions/Upcoming on the main menu of the member s area. This will then display all the Competitions in the Club Calendar. To enter just click on the word Online Signup and that will take you to a summary of that competition. Click continue to show the available slots and members that are already entered. Click the Select option on the desired time. If there is a fee to pay you can at this stage. That s it you should now be entered and a confirmation will follow To withdraw from a competition follow the same procedure and at stage 2 click withdraw and then confirm again, you will receive a confirmation . Team Matches - How it works: You can access the facility by going to Competitions/Matches on the main menu. This will then display all the Squads you are a member of and a list of fixtures associated with those squads. If you are not yet a member of any Squads then click on View all squads and if they are available for signup they will have the word Join next to them. To join just click on the word Join and if you want to leave the squad, click on the word Leave. Once you have joined a Squad you will be able to click on the Set Availability option next to each fixture and indicate your availability for that fixture. It can be Available, Maybe, or Not Available. There is also an option to add a comment against your availability which the Fixture manager will be able to view. Team Selection The administrator of the Fixture will have a view of all the Players in the Squad and their availability for that fixture. They have the ability to the whole squad, individuals or the selected Team so you should be kept fully up to date as long as you have registered your address in My Golf/Preferences. If you are selected for the team the Match will be added My Upcoming Competitions on your home page. Access to Results, Reports and Analysis Results by Squad or Leagues are viewable in Competitions->Matches. These results show overall fixture results and by clicking on the actual result you can see the individual match results. In addition you can click on a player s name and see their individual performance analysis.

The sessions will be competitive, interactive and fun. These sessions have proved extremely popular so book fast to avoid disappointment.

8 FREE Club Coaching for all Juniors this Year (Meet in Reception) These are FREE coaching sessions delivered by your Professional Team aimed at introducing some new skills and togetherness for the junior section. We would like to hope that following these sessions the section will organise a game on the course afterwards. This provides the perfect opportunity to join in and get a game if you have not had time to organise one prior. 9 Girls ONLY Golf Sessions Essendon Country Club 2014 Club Coaching (Free Entry) These lessons are designed to be relaxed and informative. Its the perfect opportunity to meet other girls whilst playing and learning. The sessions are delivered by PGA Professional Marie Allen and are open to any female regardless of your ability. Whether its in the clubhouse playing indoor golf and listening to music or out on the main course they are great fun and the perfect opportunity to get better without boys being a new sense. 10 Junior Elite Squad: Structured Coaching Programmes for our Junior Section Structured weekly practice drills and challenges. This provides purposeful and meaningful practice to help improve scores out on the course. Individual reports sent each week. This indentifies strengths and weaknesses in core areas. It helps identify why you shoot the scores you do and what changes need to be put in place to eradicate the weaknesses. Squad reports and team averages which compares you against the rest of the group. 1 x 45 minute private lesson every month. This is included to help eradicate weaknesses shown from your player reports 2 x 60 minute training sessions. These sessions are spent in the swing studio to provide specific pitching and long game skills challenges. An Order of Merit style competition with points being won for each weeks skills challenge scores. Benefits - A great togetherness amongst the squad - Huge improvements in performance - Players taking ownership and responsibility - Fun and competitive

11 Structured Coaching Programmes for our Junior Section Due to the success of the elite squad over the winter, we are in the process of creating further structured programmes for the year ahead to accommodate the junior section of varying levels of ability. The benefits of this are as follows: - Inclusive environment with a clear pathway - Helps develop and improve performance - Helps create a team atmosphere - Encourages and enforces skills for life - Opportunity to meet new friends and playing partners - Keeps juniors interest and engaged in the game Junior Development Squad - Aimed at players between the handicap region of playing from the main competition tees - 2 short game skills challenges - 1 x 3 hour squad training session per month - 1 x 45 minute private lesson Junior Graduate Squad - Aimed at players of a 28+ handicap and/or currently play from the academy tees - 1 x 2 hour squad session per month - 1 x 30 minute private lesson per month

12 Essendon Junior Section Socials 2016 Here at Essendon, its essential that we create a friendly, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for every young player that is a member at the club. Being part of a club should provide you with the chance to make new long lasting friendships, create a strong team spirit and help enhance life skills which help us all grow as a person. This year we are keen to introduce some social events to help the section integrate, grow and flourish. 13 Communication Whatsapp: Whatsapp is a free to download messenger app for smart phones. It uses the internet to send messages, images, audio or video. It is very similar to sending or receiving a text message but the difference being you can do so to a group of up to 100 people. We will be setting up a group of which both juniors and parents to keep you up to date with future competitions, matches, coaching sessions etc... Monthly Newsletter: The club will be issuing a newsletter specifically for the junior section which contains information on the latest news, results, up and coming fixtures, matches, an academy update and social events etc... ing: s are a constant source of communication from the club, the professionals and the junior committee.
