I am particularly in a spring mood after our just-completed 2 nd Annual Savage Home, Garden and More event that took place this past Saturday at the Savage Sports Center. Thanks to all for your help in making the event a success, from the volunteers, chamber staff, booth exhibitors and attendees. I d particularly like to thank the event sponsors, Custom Drapery & Blinds and The Home Depot as well as our business sponsors: Anchor Iron Co., Cornerstone Copy Center, Country Cabinets, Designscape, Edina Realty (Jen Wocelka) and Window Outfitters. April looks to be another active month for your chamber with many opportunities to network and promote your business. Join us on April 8 for our monthly membership meeting, a fun progressive networking lunch at the Tin Shed. On April 17 th we have our Business After Hours event at Way Cool Cooking School. These are two excellent opportunities to network with fellow Chamber members you maybe have known for years, or meet someone new who is eager to do business with other fellow Chamber members and become part of the Chamber family. We can t emphasize it enough, but like everything you do in business and personal life, the more you get involved, the more you will get out of it. Who doesn't want to meet a new business contact, m a k e a f r i e n d, o r g e t a r e f e r r a l? It s time to loosen up the kinks, do those stretches and gear up for the Chamber s annual Dan Patch Golf Classic scheduled for Tuesday, June 10 th at The Wilds. Will we see the return of Bucket Head or Team America? There s only one way to find out PLAY IN THE EVENT. Put together a foursome or sign up individually and we ll slot you into a foursome. Your entry fee entitles you to golf, lunch and dinner, free admission to Hairball on Friday night, June 20th at Dan Patch Days and a free 2014 Dan Patch Days T-shirt. I can attest that compared to other tournaments in the south metro, this is a GREAT value. There are also great opportunities for sponsorship. It s a fun event you won t want to miss. On a final note, congratulations to Chamber member Sam Dalal on his retirement at the end of the month after many years as a State Farm agent. 3 Member News (Continued) Gab & Grab Members from the Savage Chamber came out to The Glendale at 4615 West 123rd Street in Downtown Savage for the March Gab & Grab that was co-hosted by The Glendale and Subway. Property Manager, Debra Briggs invited the guests to check out their community room and talked about the different amenities at the property. Guests were treated to lunch donated by Subway. Koko FitClub Congratulates Amber Butcher Amber Butcher h a s b e e n promoted to Human Resources and W e l l n e s s Specialist at K o k o FitClub. Amber will be responsible for Koko's corporate wellness programs across the SW Metro. In this role, Amber will help companies integrate effective fitness initiatives into their corporate wellness programs. Companies can realize reductions in healthcare costs, absenteeism, and improve productivity with a healthier workforce and Koko is uniquely positioned to help achieve those goals. (Sam Dalal continued from page 2) Agent Sam Dalal will be retiring on April 30, Sam began his career with State Farm as an Agent on August 1, He and his wife Lynn Arbogast-Dalal have two daughters - Monette and Zarine. Sam and Lynn have enjoyed living and working in the Lake Prior / Burnsville area for more than 30 years. Sam has been an active and productive member of his community. He is a Member and Past President of the Burnsville Breakfast Rotary Club, a Member of the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce, a Member of the Savage Chamber of Commerce, an EMT Volunteer with the Twin City Red Cross EMS Services, a Volunteer with the Dakota County Medical Reserve Corps, and a Volunteer MVN/Cert with the City of Burnsville. Sam has been a shining example of what it means to be a Good Neighbor. He will be truly missed by his State Farm Family. We wish Sam and his family all Best Wishes as they begin their newest chapter.
