Members and guests should at all times show courtesy to their fellows, and consideration for the golf course. The Rules of Golf guide etiquette when playing golf and, in the interests of etiquette, proper standards of conduct and dress in the clubhouse should also be observed.

5 5 HANDICAPS Check your current handicap before each golf competition. Australian handicaps are required in all open competitions. Only members with Australian handicaps who are full financial members of Narooma Golf Club are eligible to win Board events, Perpetual Trophies, Club Championships, monthly Medals, Single or 4 Ball K.O. events. Members must be fully financial at the commencement of each event. It is the player s responsibility to return all cards from other courses for handicapping. To be entitled to a handicap a player must be a full financial Member of Narooma Golf Club. To obtain an Australian handicap a player shall submit three (3) cards to the Handicap Committee, two (2) of which must be played at Narooma. Each card must be verified by a player who holds an official handicap.
6 6 HANDICAP USE STROKE, PAR and STABLEFORD: Full Handicap. MATCH PLAY: Difference of Stroke Handicap. FOURSOMES: Half of Aggregate Stroke Handicap. Players hit off alternate tees and play alternately with one ball. AMERICAN FOURSOMES: 3/8 of Aggregate Stroke Handicap. Both players play from their tees, exchange balls and play a further shot before playing alternately with the favoured ball. FOUR BALL BEST BALL: Stroke Play (including both Par and Stableford). Full Handicap. FOUR BALL MATCH PLAY: Reduce the handicap of all players by the handicap of the lowest, who will then play off scratch. The other three players are allowed all of the resulting handicaps. AMBROSE: Played in teams. All players drive and then select the favoured ball and all hit shots from the vicinity of the favored ball until holed out. Handicap 2 man 1/4, 3 man 1/6 and 4 man 1/8. Note: Preferred lies through the green for all Ambrose events at Narooma. CANADIAN FOURSOMES: 3/8 of Aggregate Stroke Handicap. Both players play from their tees, select the favoured ball, play alternately until holed out.
7 7 ETIQUETTE OF GOLF The lowest marker in each game is responsible for the observance of the etiquette of golf and the speed of play. No one should move, talk, stand close behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke. The player who has the honour should be allowed to play before his opponent or fellow competitor tees his ball, but not to the extent that it delays play. No player shall play until the party in front is out of range. A player who has incurred a penalty should indicate the fact to his opponent or marker as soon as possible. Players while searching for a ball should allow other matches coming up to pass them; they should signal, should not continue their play until those players have passed and are out of range. Having played out of a bunker, a player should carefully rake the bunker and return rake to marked area outside of bunker. Players should ensure that any turf cut or displaced by them is replaced at once and pressed down and on the putting green any mark made by them is obliterated as far as possible after the players have holed out. When the result of a hole has been determined, players should immediately leave the putting green and should not replay their putts or practice putting.
8 8 MAJOR CLUB EVENTS Major and Open events must use AGU Handicap. Honour Board events and Monthly Medals are only open to full financial members of Narooma Golf Club with a current AGU/WGA handicap. Please refer to RULES AND CONDITIONS COVERING THE CONDUCT OF TOURNAMENTS AND EVENTS held by Match Committee. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS will be played over two consecutive weekends commencing Saturday 5th May and will be over 36 holes of Stroke play, commencing from the 1st tee. The Match Committee may change this event at its discretion. Should wet conditions be such that motorised transport is not allowed, but the course is otherwise playable, championships will be played. CLUB Junior Championships to be played over 36 hole stroke play in conjunction with club championship. Please Note: To be eligible to play in Club Championships, members must have a current AGU/ WGA handicap and be a Full member of Narooma Golf Club. CAPTAIN S TROPHY: Individual Stroke Handicap Match Play Knockout. 16 to qualify. Qualifying rounds 7th July and 14th July. PRESIDENT S TROPHY (TRIATHLON COMPETITION) : One round Stroke, one round Par, one round Stableford. Points system will determine the winner. Must play all rounds to qualify. PATRON S TROPHY: 4BBB Stableford Match Play Knockout. 16 pairs to qualify. Qualifying round Saturday 21st April. Swingers cannot qualify.

10 MONTHLY MEDAL and CRUNCHER CUP The winner of the Monthly Medal is entitled to use the Cruncher Cup for one month unless he is under-age when the Cup will go to the best senior score. The holder can ask a golfer to fill the Cup on 18 hole golf days once in the month but if he asks a member twice in the month the Cup holder is obliged to shout for the school the member is in at the time. TIES In the event of ties, winners of scratch events (Men s Championship, and Open) will be decided by a three hole play-off. If it is still a tie, a sudden death play-off will apply from the 4th tee onwards. Ties in Limon Gold Medal play-off will be decided over 18 holes at a time arranged by match committee. If still a tie, a play-off over three holes as for championships, etc. All other events will use the uniform count back system for decisions. Count Back in Ties: Last 9, 6, 3. Then hole by hole from 18th as per Australian Uniform Count Back System. NOTICE TO PLAYERS When time sheets are posted for certain events, members are requested to adhere strictly to times booked, otherwise they will be relegated to the end of the field. Please notify the Professional if, after booking a time, it is not possible to adhere to such a time. Balls and vouchers won must be collected within three months or they will be forfeited and revert to the Club. 10

21 21 LADY MEMBERS' COMPETITIONS CONDITIONS OF PLAY The Match Committee reserves the right to alter this program or method of play at any time. The Match Committee will determine dates for play-offs.
