Although untrue, with the 36 points they get for the bye week, they dropped from 1 st but still remain only a ½ point from the top spot. Team 8 has now reclaimed that honor by squeaking out a victory over Team 5 by a score of Team 8 Captain Dube must be happy that the Prez didn t take him up on his complaints about moving a new person to his team in the second half. That person, Bisci, led the way for Team 8 this week by shooting low net and taking 12 points with his partner Scott Hassan while the dismal A squad only managed 6.5 points. Look s like the Velasco train has run out steam! Well, at least the elder it seems! Lou s D squad has been doing pretty well in the 2 nd half and is a main reason Team 8 is still sticking around! Team 2 moved a little closer whipping on Team 1 by a score of this week and is now in a two way tie for 2 nd with Team 3. In that match Griffin, who was subbing with Aker was heard to be auctioning off his services to the highest bidder to tank or not to tank in order to help one of the teams. With no takers (cheap bastards), Jim proceeded to shoot his handicap and the B match ended up pretty tight. Looks like Team 2 is trying to make amends for their loss in the playoffs in the 1 st half and positioning themselves to once again be a playoff contender in the 2 nd half. Of course this week his team was helped by Team 1 s D group who only managed to take 5 ½ points from Team 2D. Wilusz was heard in the clubhouse to say I could have shot a 44 and taken more points if I could only putt!. After stating this three times, he was quickly corrected by Harnois that with his game, if he had putted well, he would have screwed up on his other shots! Of course, Ray was reminded of his 55 this week and that was the end of any further conversation! Is he still lamenting the loss of Egan as his partner? Regardless, Team 1 lost a little ground but is still in the running at only 9 points behind. In fact there is only a 13 point separation between 1 st and 6 th so this is anybody s game. With 3 weeks to go, will Team 5 pull off the upset once again? Even Team 9 wants to get back in the game taking 44.5 points this week led by Bashour and Zingarelli shooting low net for the week and along with their respective team mates Perry and Whittier each

3 taking 12 points. Although John Perry apparently wanted to play for Team 2 this week as he signed off the card for John Patton leaving Team 1D and Patton s partner dumbfounded on the 1 st tee waiting for Patton to show up. Patton did make it at the 11 th hour and shot a respectable 47. Team 1D was heard to utter that they wished it was Perry playing for Team 2 since Perry shot a 54! The woes of Team 4 continue as they were on the losing side of the 44.5 rout by Team 9. I don t think there is a consolation prize for last place if that is what they are thinking. The End of Year Tourney is coming up and we want to get a full sell off of all the tee times. Expect an announcement any day now (Hint, Hint to the prez!). Please try to get your foursomes in early and ask around if there are any others that would like to play. We heard Ledgement recently was bought and the new ownership has invested several million $ in upgrades so the course should be in greater shape than it already had been! Did anyone hear that Robin Williams died? Notes: We hope that our webmaster has clarified the on-line I need a sub/i want to sub process. No matter how idiot proof he tries to make it.well..you can figure out the rest! Captains should inform all retirees and non-nuwc members on their teams to use the website for all League information. Slow Play Watch: We had to switch the planned writer for this week s bully as the other league officers didn t think it would be fair having a scribe call himself out for slow play. In addition, we didn t think he would do it or give it justice. Apparently Scribe Halpin, who has been ruthlessly and angrily chastising people for slow play over this season is himself a culprit! (I am in fear simply writing this!). From the 1 st tee box, his group was spotted casually strolling down the 4 th fairway while the group ahead of his was completing their putts on the 5 th! Note to all the objective is to keep up with the group ahead of you not to slow down and play more relaxed if the group behind you isn t keeping up! Although his group wasn t the only ones as a pileup on the 3 rd tee occurred when the 4:14 group looked like they were on a foxhunt searching for their out of bounds drives! Maybe a good idea is to release the hounds on these players to speed them up! Please remember that over the next few weeks that sunset will be earlier and earlier and slow play could risk the later groups having to finish in near dark. We don t want to repeat the ending of the PGA Championship!

He says to the pro, "The three of us hit completely different tee shots, and when we asked you what we did wrong, you answered the same exact answer each time. What is loft"" The pro says, "Lack of f#@%ing talent."
