This par 71 layout measures 7,050 yards and has a 72.9 rating and a 134 slope. The golf club offers a practice tee, short game practice area and a practice putting green. Host Hotel Information and Rates The host hotel will be the Phoenix Marriott Mesa, 200 N Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ Rates are $109 per night which includes breakfast each morning for up to 4 people in the room. 5 Entry Deadline All entries must be received at Visit Mesa no later than 5/17/2017. Contact Suzanne in advance if unable to meet the deadline. Entry Fees: $600/Team, $120/Individual Player. Entry Fees only covers four tournament rounds. Roster /Team Photo / Logo: o Included is a team/individual information form that needs to be completed by May 10, A team photo and college logo must also be ed to suzanne@visitmesa.com no later than May 10, Do not wait to qualify for the tournament. Send this information immediately. You must submit this information on time to make sure that you are included in the tournament program. o A team photo, JPEG or TIFF format at least 300dpi and 3-inches minimum. o Your school logo in an illustrator or as an EPS file. As a JPEG/TIFF it must be at least 300dpi and 1-inch minimum. Practice Range The practice facility at Longbow Golf Club will be open to players from 7:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday and 6:00am to 5:00pm on Monday and 6:00am to 6:00pm Tuesday through Friday. Optional Practice Round There will be an optional practice round at Longbow Golf Club on Sunday, May 21-1pm shotgun. The optional practice round will be $35/player. Coaches can play during this optional practice round. Please RSVP for optional practice round by Wednesday, May 17, You can include number of players on official entry form. You can also call Longbow Golf Club at (480) Opening Banquet Opening Banquet will be held at Longbow Golf Club on Monday evening May 22 at 6:30pm on the back patio. The banquet is an integral part of the championship tournament experience and an official tournament function. All players and coaches are encouraged to attend. Cost is $30/person. Reservations must be made by May 17 by notifying Suzanne Keller. Tickets will not be available onsite. A form to RSVP is included in this packet and can also be found on the tournament website: Dress is golf casual. Prior to the banquet, players will have the opportunity to jump on a golf board and cruise around a course set up on the practice range from 5pm to 6:30pm. Coaches Meeting Coaches meeting will be held following the practice round Monday May 22 nd inside the clubhouse of Longbow Golf Club at 12:30pm. Closing Ceremonies Closing ceremonies will follow Friday s Championship round. Awards will include first, second and third place awards for the top 3 teams, the top 18 medalists will be considered All Tournament, and the top 26 players will earn an All-American Award. We ask that all players and coaches attend. Page 5

6 OTHER INFORMATION Programs All players and coaches will be provided a complimentary program upon check in. Tournament Course Books will be available for purchase on site. Price is $25/book. Statistics/Tee times Scores will be provided following each round on the scoreboard at the course. Scores will also be published on Golfstat Live following each round. Golfstat should be your primary go-to. Scores will be published for pickup in the clubhouse and the hotel front desk following each day s round. Scores will be posted to tournament web site as soon as possible following each day s round. Tee times will be available at the banquet Monday and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as soon as possible at the scoreboard, on Golfstat and on the website. Parking Free Parking will be available at the Tournament site. Merchandise Merchandise for this year s tournament will be available for pre-order through Team IP The pre-order details can be found at (see flyer on last page) All pre-order merchandise orders must be received by May 11, 2017 Additional items will be available for sale onsite as well. Rules Officials PGA/USGA rules officials will be on course during all competition rounds. Athletic Training Services Certified Athletic Trainers will be on site for each round. Head Athletic Trainer, Marty Parel, roberick.parel@mesacc.edu, (480) Teams must supply all medical supplies for non-emergency treatment. Spectator Admission Admission will be charged for all spectators Tuesday through Friday. General Admission is $15/day or $40 for an all-tournament pass (4 days). Checks made out to Visit Mesa Tickets must be on person and readily available while on the course. Spectators may rent golf carts subject to availability and use rules. $25/cart/round (18) Carts must be immediately returned upon completion of spectator round in order to provide cart use to additional spectators. Team Passes- each team will be issued one pass for each participating roster player and 1 pass for coaches approved for on course advice. All others must purchase a ticket for tournament admission. 7 Tournament Policy Highlights All NJCAA and USGA rules will be followed to the letter. Coach s responsibility to be familiar with NJCAA Handbook Article XII. M. with special emphasis of Section 5. NJCAA policies are enclosed with this packet Players will be penalized for failure to observe the rules of etiquette of golf or NJCAA behavior policies. Improper behavior by tournament participants, as determined by the NJCAA Code of Conduct my result in disqualification. Coach s responsibility to be familiar with NJCAA Handbook Article XX. Appropriate golf attire will be required. This applies for everyone representing a college at all official tournament functions. All Participants and officials staying in a hotel must stay at the Phoenix Marriott Mesa hotel per NJCAA tournament rules. NJCAA Article XII.M.17. The Hotel is considered part of the tournament site and all behavior rules will be enforced. This includes a ban on alcohol and tobacco. The National Championships will be a no-cut tournament. All participants are expected to play through Friday and attend the awards ceremony. Teams consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 5. No more than 5 players may compete for a college. No players or coaches will be permitted to play on the tournament site on Friday or Saturday prior to tournament start. Players or coaches attempting to violate this rule will be disqualified. Two designated coaches may give advice. These coaches must be designated prior to the beginning of the event. Both coaches must wear identification as provided by the tournament when on the course. Teams will only be provided (2) credentials for on course coaches/advice. Replacements/additional credentials will not be provided. Carts may be rented at the rate of $25/ day. All carts must remain in the rough during tournament play, no exceptions. Any disruption in the pay of golf by any coach or spectator in a cart will result in the suspension of all cart use for spectators and coaches. No contestant shall be permitted to enter the NJCAA Championship Golf Tournament unless accompanied by a designated supervisor. A designated sponsor form provided must be filed with the tournament for entry. NJCAA Handbook Article XII.m.3.b. Tee times will be set by NJCAA rule however; the rules committee reserves the right to reschedule times in the event of suspended play or other considerations. Scorecard procedures will follow USGA stroke play rules. USGA 6-3 will be followed with respect to tee time/time of starting. Players will be permitted to use electronic distance measuring devices on course during play provided they do not measure wind or elevation. Cell phone GPS applications may not be used. Violation will be disqualification from that round. In the case of a tie for first place with respect to individual competition, there shall be a sudden death playoff. All other ties in the top eighteen shall be decided by the USGA tie breaker recommendation. In the case of any infraction, the final authority shall be the rules committee comprised of the rules chairman or his designee, tournament director or his designee, NJCAA representative or his designee and the Longbow Golf Club General Manager or his designee. No Players shall be permitted back on the tournament course after completing a round except during playoffs Page 7

8 2017 NJCAA Division II Men s Golf National Championship Longbow Golf Club May 23-26, 2017 Bob McNichols, General Manager Local Rules and Special Information Transportation Players will walk at all times during a stipulated tournament round. Coaches, committee members or rules officials may transport players in regards to ruling or emergency situations. Pace of Play - In accordance with USGA Appendix I, the Tournament Committee has established the following pace of play guidelines for the purpose of preventing slow play. Pace of play guidelines will be enforced with checkpoints set up at the end of holes #4, #9, #14 and #18. Groups will be allotted 4 1/2 hours to complete their round or 15 minutes per hole. At each checkpoint your time will marked. If the group is on or ahead of time, they will be flashed a green card indicating proper pace of play. If the group is behind schedule, they will be flashed a red card indicating a first warning and will be urged to increase their pace of play. If the group is still behind pace at the next point, they may be subject to a one stroke penalty for each player in group. Discontinuance of Play In event of threatening weather, play will be suspended by 3 blasts of the horn. Players must discontinue play, mark their golf balls and proceed to the clubhouse. You are not permitted to play additional shots and/or finish your hole in the event of a suspension of play. NO EXCEPTIONS! All practice areas will be closed during suspension of play for threatening weather until such time as the committee has declared them open. Advice- In accordance with Rule 8 of the Rules of Golf, each team may appoint two persons who may give advice to members of that team. Such person must be identified to the Committee before giving advice and be wearing proper identification at all times. Spectators Spectators are to remain 30 yards away from competitors and on the cart path or in the rough with no communication to players at any time. Spectators are to have cell phones in off position. There will be no warning. Spectators violating this rule will be asked to leave the golf course property if their cell phone disrupts play. Scorecard After completion of play, players are to proceed to the official scoring area near the scoreboard. All scorecards must be signed and attested before being turned in to the scoring official. The scorecard is deemed to be returned once the player has left the scoring area. No alterations may be made to the scorecard after the player has left the scoring area. Penalty for breach of this condition is Disqualification. Communication Devices Voice communication devices may not be turned on or used by any player during any stipulated round or match (e.g. cellular phone, digital phone and radio). The penalty for breach of this rule is: 1 st Offense- 2 Stroke Penalty, 2 nd Offense- Disqualification for serious breach of etiquette Rule Close of Competition The competition is deemed to have closed when the trophy has been awarded to the winner or, in absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Committee. Practice Between Holes - The player must play without delay and in accordance with the pace of play guidelines set by the Tournament Committee. Between the play of two holes, a player must not make any stroke on or near the putting green of the hole last played and must not test the surface of the putting green of the hole last played by rolling a ball. Penalty for breach of this condition is 2 strokes at the next hole. Local Rules- U.S.G.A. rules will govern all play unless modified by a local rule. All players play the black tees Play the ball as it lies 14 Club Limit Rule 24-1 a competitor may remove stones/rocks in bunkers by declaring them to be movable obstructions Embedded ball rule is in effect through the green Ground under Repair is marked by painted white lines Out of Bounds- All out of bounds is defined by a white stake or border fence. Water Hazards- All hazards will be defined by yellow or red stakes and/or yellow or red lines.
