Levels: Illinois Coggins/Health Certificate Law: USDF Introductory through FEI Grand Prix, including Open, Junior/Young Rider, and Adult Amateur divisions, as well as Opportunity Classes. The state of Illinois also requires an Entry Permit number, which is issued by the Illinois Department of Agriculture and is good for the life of the CVI, which is 30 days and is free. 3 Balmoral Health Requirements: Entries: Awards: Sharps Containers: Definitions: Equine Health Requirements will be enforced. All horses (competing or not) that enter the grounds are required to present the Health Entry Requirements, which include Health Certificate (for out-of-state horses), Event Participation Declaration, and Proof of Vaccine. All horses are subject to examination by HITS officials/designated representatives and/or state officials (collectively officials ) for determining whether such animals are, or have been infected/exposed, or are likely to become infected with an infectious or contagious disease. If after such examination, officials have reason to believe that an animal s health condition places other animals at risk, such officials, at their sole discretion, may quarantine such animal (and others that may have been infected/exposed) or, if appropriate, require that such animals be transported off the grounds. All participants agree to fully cooperate with event officials and abide by their decisions and instructions. Failure to comply shall be grounds for immediate expulsion and potential disciplinary action by organization, state/local or federal animal health officials. All exhibitors are encouraged to review the equine health entry/transport requirements of the destination state prior to entry. See p for forms. Online Entries at Accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. One entry per horse/rider combination please print clearly. Completed entries (all three signatures, copies of all association cards and a copy of a current coggins within 12 months of show date (with horse's show name per USEF rule GR907.4) and a copy of horse s vaccination records within 6 months of show date (per USEF rule GR845)) must to be with entry. Entries must be postmarked by the closing date. USEF and USDF non-membership fee(s) are not required for Intro Classes and Opportunity Classes. Horses are limited to a maximum of three dressage rides per day at Fourth Level and below (including Rider Tests) or two dressage rides per day above Fourth Level. Horses competing at both Fourth Level and Prix St. Georges, or their equivalents, are limited to two dressage rides per day. Horses competing in FEI Para-Equestrian tests are limited to a maximum of two dressage rides per day including equivalent USEF or USDF tests. FEI Para-Equestrian tests may be ridden at nonconsecutive levels to USDF, USEF, and other FEI tests. Horses may enter no more than two consecutive levels, Freestyle levels included, at any one competition (refer to the following chart). Dressage Seat Equitation, Quadrille, Pas de Deux and Materiale classes are excluded from the maximum limit of rides per day and horses in these classes may compete at any level for which they are otherwise eligible during the same competition. See USEF Rule DR Divisions (Junior/Young, Adult Amateur, Open) will be run concurrently as one class and pinned separately. Riders must clearly specify division choice. When no designation is made, riders will automatically be entered as OPEN -- exhibitors enter with this understanding and agreement. Riders may enter only one division per class. High Point Ribbon and Prize For Each Day of the Show: Ribbons to 6th place and trophy in all classes/divisions with 4 or more entries that ride the test. A Champion ribbon will be awarded at each level in each division (Open, AA, JR/YR), Intro thru FEI, for the highest percentage ride at that level, for both Saturday and Sunday. A Grand Champion ribbon will be awarded on Sunday, to the highest percentage ride for the entire show (across all divisions). USDF Intro classes, opportunity classes, rider and materiale tests, and musical freestyles are not eligible for the Grand Champion ribbon. Awards will not be mailed... competitors must pick-up awards before leaving the show. Sharps containers will be placed in each stabling aisle. Per USEF Rule GR1210.4, Competition Management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. Adult Amateur = Individuals possessing current amateur certification are only eligible as Adult Amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach age 22. USEF rule DR Only active United States Equestrian Federation members may obtain amateur status. (Exception: Equine Canada members in possession of current EC membership may sign for USEF Amateur status on a show by show basis at no cost). Participants must possess current USEF Amateur status and qualify under the USEF Amateur rules. If opportunity classes at Dressage Competitions are restricted to amateurs, riders are required to have an amateur status with USEF. Junior/Young Rider = Open to Junior & Young Riders only. Individuals are eligible as JR s until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 18. Individuals are eligible as YR's from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach age 16 until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age 21. See USEF rule DR

A measurement fee of $100 must be paid on entry. The measurement must take place prior to first pony test ride. $35 if postmarked and received after the closing/received by date. $10 plus normal class fee Post entries accepted ONLY if time allows. $50 for checks returned due to non-negotiable funds. $50 per day for horses not competing in the show. Must fill out entry form for number and pay office fee, along with stabling. No USEF/USDF fees need to be paid. Confirmation of entry will be ed to the rider. All addresses must be clearly printed. Make sure you turn off your spam filter for Fox Village. Please indicate that the class is to count for qualifying by placing a Q after the class number. Qualifying will not require a separate ride. An exhibitor riding in the Open, Adult Amateur, or Junior/Young rider classes will pay an additional $15 USDF qualifying fee (must be paid prior to start of the class) to have the score entered in the Great American/USDF qualifying division at that level. Cancellations only in writing either by mail or prior to or on the closing date. 100% of entry fees will be refunded with veterinarian or doctor s certificate before closing date, minus the office fee. Every effort will be made to refund entries via the original method of payment. NO REFUNDS, including stall and office fees, for any reason after the OFFICIAL, PUBLISHED closing date, even if the closing date is extended. SEE USEF rule GR911 for substitution of rider. All No Shows that have not contacted the show office, prior to the start of the show, will be considered a scratch for the rest of the show and time slots will be filled. Exhibitors enter with this understanding and agreement. Unofficial ride time s will posted to after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24th. It is the responsibility of the rider to inform show management of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving the unofficial ride times. Please DO NOT call for ride times. Official ride times will be posted in the show office by NOON the day before the competition starts. All competition arenas will be in 20mx60m arenas. All competition and schooling arena s have all-weather footing. Lunging footing is the same as all competition and schooling arenas; lunging only in designated areas
5 Opportunity Classes: Stabling: Open to those new to showing dressage. Horses and riders competing in opportunity classes are exempt from USEF and USDF membership requirements, and do not have to pay non-member or HID fees or USEF drug fees. Opportunity riders/horses will be allowed to cross-enter into other recognized classes at the show, but must pay all applicable USEF and USDF fees. Opportunity classes follow all USEF Dressage Division rules and applicable USEF general rules, including dressage and saddlery. Opportunity classes cannot be used as qualifying classes for the Great American/USDF Regional Championships. Permanent box stalls with doors are 12 x 12 and are available on a first come, first serve basis by entries received by date. All horses must have a stall. Stabling requests honored when possible. Stall bedding is not included, and should be included on your entry form or order from show office by 2:00 PM each day. No guarantees of same day delivery if ordered after 2:00 PM. Due to safety regulations, it is required that all aisle ways of the barns be kept clear. There must be a clear path for both horses and humans to walk throughout barns and to and from stalls. There cannot be any tack trunks in the aisle ways of any barns. Tack trunks must be placed in tack stalls. This will be monitored by stable manager and show management. If tack trunks are found in aisles you will be required to remove tack trunk or place in tack stall. Stall changes must be approved by show office. Horses found in an incorrect stall may be moved and fined $ This is for safety issues. Stallion owners need to bring suitable equipment to close off the stall if necessary, for the safety of your horse and those stabled near him. Stall Alterations are strictly forbidden. The removal of stall tent side poles, side ropes and/or stakes/anchors is strictly prohibited. Any exhibitor found in violation will be issued a single warning. If violation continues, Management reserves the right to remove from the show grounds all property belonging to or under the control of said violator. Further, Management reserves the right to bar any exhibitor found to be in violation from any further participation in the horse show without recourse to any refund of entry or stabling fees paid or due. Owners and exhibitors shall be held responsible for damage caused by them, their agents or employees to stalls, buildings and other properties on the show grounds, and shall be billed accordingly. Stalls will be available after 12:00 PM on Friday thru Sunday (two hours after the last class of the day). Early arrivals and late departures must be approved my show management, and may be assessed additional stabling fees. Please contact the show manager with questions/concerns. Under the Equine Activity Liability Act, each participant who participates in an equine activity expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and legal responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person or property resulting from the risk of equine activities. Per USEF rule (GR1301.6): Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash (not to exceed 6 feet in length) or otherwise contained (in a tack stall/cage etc.). Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty by USEF, as well as warning cards. Loose animals or animal s left in vehicles in distress, etc., can and will be removed, from the grounds at the owner s expense
6 Freestyle Entries: Protective Headgear: Accommodations: Directions: Per USEF Rule DR129.9: Except for USEF/USDF Championship classes and for FEI Pony Riders, FEI Junior, FEI Young Rider and FEI Para-Equestrian Freestyles, in order to enter a freestyle class at any level, a horse/rider combination must have received a minimum score of 60% in the highest test of the declared freestyle level or any test of a higher level at a Federation Licensed or FEI recognized Dressage Competition or open Dressage class (i.e. open to all breeds) at a Federation Licensed Competition held prior to the competition where the horse/rider combination is entered to ride a freestyle class. A photocopy of the test verifying eligibility, or copy of the USDF score verification, must be submitted with the entry for a freestyle class. Music must be on good quality CD and must be presented to the show office during check-in. Bridle numbers will not be given out without music provided. The schedule for sound checks will be posted at the show. From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds, including non-competing riders, riders on non-competing horses, and those competing in all classes and tests, including Para-Equestrian tests, must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. 8 ATTENTION COMPETITORS Each competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct applicable numbers (USDF and USEF) for horse, owner, rider, and trainer, before the day(s) of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward national awards
9 Other Rules & Specifications USEF rules are in force from the moment show management allows access to the show grounds. This includes conduct, correct saddlery and equipment, and attire. Visit the USEF website for the most current rulebook, Numbers must be worn at all times when a horse is out their stall either being exercised or ridden. Liability Horses by their inherent nature present a risk. This show, the management, the USEF Licensee, and the facility will not be responsible for any loss or damage or injury to horses exhibited, or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost or destroyed, or in any way injured. Each exhibitor will be responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person, whomsoever, by any horse owned or exhibited by said exhibitor and shall indemnify the show, the management, the show committee and volunteers, the USEF Licensee, the USEF and USDF, or any member thereof, against all claims and demands, of any nature or kind, that may grow out of any injury occasioned by any horses owned or exhibited by them, or arise from the negligence of the person in charge of any such horse. All horses exhibited in this show participate entirely at the owners risk. Neither the Organizing Committee, show volunteers and staff, the facility or its owners, any host GMO, USEF or USDF or their members will be responsible for any damage, injury, or loss to persons, horses, or property of exhibitors or spectators. All owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. They are therefore strongly advised to take out third-party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep the policy up to date. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT (GR901.9): USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT (GR901.9): Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. NON-U.S. CITIZENS (AS DEFINED BY GR901.9) AND FOREIGN COMPETITORS (AS DEFINED BY GR828.4): must provide proof, in English, of current membership in good standing in their respective National Federation, or hold current membership in good standing with the USEF. MOTORIZED VEHICLES AND MINORS USEF Rule GR901.29/GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above-described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Show Management reserves the right to vary or add officials and refuse any entry for a cause; to disqualify any exhibitor and/or his or her horse for cause; to cause an exhibitor to forfeit his or her ribbons and winnings for cause; to return any entry and/or stall fee before or during the show for cause; all without being liable for damage or compensation. Show management reserves the right to make any changes deemed necessary for the safe and efficient conduct of this competition. ATTENTION COMPETITORS: Each competitor is responsible for supplying the show management with the correct and required association numbers of USDF and/or USEF for the horse, owner, rider, coaches, and trainer, before the day(s) of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not count towards national awards. The proof of these numbers must be in the form of either their actual membership/registration cards or a facsimile of them. Proof of membership must be included with entry form. Please provide the USEF/USDF Master Verification ( although membership cards or photocopies of cards are still acceptable. Failure to provide proof of USEF and/or USDF membership will result in competitor being charged non-member fees. Members that are unable to produce the USDF memberships cards/registrations or a facsimile will be asked to sign an affidavit and pay an affidavit fee. All entries are taken on a first come, first served basis. Some shows return late arriving entries after the show is filled, and some shows place entries on a wait list on an asreceived basis.
