2 2 Clinic $120 for the day, includes lunch May Thor Icelandics Schooling Show July 29-31, 2011 and Friday Clinic Friday July 29, 2011 Clinic with Steinar Friday, May 27th, we are going to have a clinic and competition clinic. In this clinic Steinar will aid you in how to get the most out of yourself and your horse in every day work and riding and also during competition. He will work with people on the specific issues they need assistance with, and he will also be working with you and teaching you the various things about competitions (if you so desire): He will go over the rules and regulations of the competition, explain speed changes, which lead to be on, where to start pacing, etc. He will go through the scoring system, explaining what the judge is looking for to receive different scores, and much more. During the clinic, riders will work on the track with the clinician. There will be 2-4 riders on the track at the same time, and also one-on-one / private lessons as needed. Friday lunch is included for those participating in the clinic. No dogs allowed at the clinic.

Final tölt open top 5 placings from the previous day ** The Thor Cup Challenge is our own class and creation, and it was suggested by Lori Leo of Four Winds Farm. This event will be an individual event with one rider on the track at a time. Even though this is a sports competition, The Thor Cup Challenge will be conducted like a breeding show, where the rider has 8 runs to show all 4 or 5 gaits - like one would do in a breeding evaluation. The rider will have to set up their own routine, which gait they want to show on which run, etc. The rider will be scored for each of the gaits, and will also get a total score for rideability. The thinking behind this challenge and competition is that this could be practice for those riders who may not be ready, or may not want to show at a breed evaluation, but are both interested in challenging themselves to do this, and interested to see what kind of scores they would receive. Please note, this challenge requires preparation and practice, set-up of routine, etc.

The maximum number of test per day per horse is limited, depending on the age of the horse: for 5 year old horses 2 starts per day, for 6 years old horses 3 starts per day, for horses of 7 years and older 4 starts per day. 2. Helmets and proper attire (i.e. shoes) must be worn when mounted. 3. The allowed weight of protective material (boots) is limited from 300g to 250g per foot. 4. The length of the hoof is limited to 9.5 cm, with an exception of horses with a stick measure of or higher, in which case up to 10.0 cm is allowed. For consideration received, and in return for the use, today and on all future dates of the property, facilities and services of Manager, Rider, Rider s heirs, assigns, and representatives, hereby agree as follows: Inherent Risks and Assumption of Risk. The undersigned acknowledges there are inherent risks associated with equine activities such as described below, and hereby expressly assumes all risks associated with participating in such activities. The inherent risks include, but are not limited to the propensity of equines to behave in ways such as, running, bucking, biting, kicking, shying, stumbling, rearing, falling, or stepping on, that may result in an injury, harm or death to persons on or around them; the unpredictability of equine s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement and unfamiliar objects, persons or other animals; certain hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions; collisions with other animals; the limited availability of emergency medical care; and the potential of a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the animal or not acting within such participant s ability. Rider acknowledges that horses, by their very nature are unpredictable and subject to animal whim. Rider assumes all risks in connection therewith, and expressly waives any claims for any injury or loss arising therefrom. Rider agrees to abide by and follow Manager s rules and regulations which, shall be posted and/or available from time to time. Rider further acknowledges that the behavior of any animal is contingent to some extent upon the ability of Rider. Rider assumes all risks therefore and warrants full and fair disclosure of Rider s abilities has been made to Manager. Rider expressly releases Manager, Manager s employees, Manager s family, Manger s agents, and Manager s heirs from any and all claims for personal injury or property damage, even if caused by negligence (if allowed by the laws of this State) by Manager or its representatives, agents or employees. WARNING You are advised that there are inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury or death, while engaging in equine activities. By engaging in equine activities and in accordance with the terms of this agreement you hereby assume all risks of injury or death. Rider agrees to hold harmless indemnify and defend Manager against, and hold harmless from, any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, judgements, orders, costs or expenses, including attorney s fees, whether actually incurred or not, which may in any way arise from or be in any way connected with Rider s use of or presence upon the property of Manager and the facilities located thereon. In the event Rider is using Rider s own horse, or a horse(s) not owned by Manager, Rider warrants said horse(s) shall be free from infection, contagious or transmittable diseases. Manager reserves the right to refuse access or use of any horse upon the premises that does not appear to Manager to be in good health, or is deemed dangerous or undesirable. Any action brought under this agreement shall be brought within one (1) year of the incident or accident giving rise to said claim. Rider agrees that damages shall be limited to $250 for property damage, actual expenses incurred, and a maximum of $10,000 for damages such as pain and suffering. For underaged children, parent or guardians are to fill out this form and sign for the child. Rider agrees to waive the protection of any applicable statutes in this jurisdiction whose purpose, substance and/or effect is to provide that a general release shall not extend to claims, material or otherwise, which the person giving the release does not know or suspect to exist at the time of executing said release. 6 Saturday night dinner, pricing information, & other details 6 Saturday night dinner - $25 per plate Johanna will be preparing an Icelandic feast! The menu will be a surprise. But you can expect a grilled selection to choose from, with numerous salads and side dishes. For dessert, Johanna will be baking up some surprises, as usual. Included with dinner are soda, juice, beer, white- and or red wine. Class sponsorship $25 If you would like to sponsor a class (we ve got 20 great classes to choose from), you or your business name will be announced at the beginning and end of the class, as well as appear in the program. Medals & Prizes Every class will have medals (gold, silver, bronze) for the top placing positions. In a few of the classes, the first place winner will also receive a trophy. To name just two of the trophies that will be awarded: The winner of the Thor Cup Challenge will also receive a trophy specially handcrafted by an equine artist in addition to the gold medal. The winner of the Beer Tolt will receive an engraved beer mug trophy in addition to the gold medal. Horse overnight information Mare or gelding $10 per night / Stallion $20 The mares and geldings will stay outside in either corrals or fields or in sheds. If you bring more than one horse, and they can stay together, please let us know this. For the mares and geldings, please bring water buckets and feed. Ezcema concerns? Just talk to us. The stallions will stay in a stall in the barn, with shavings, et al. No water buckets required. Please bring your own feed.
