1 25/50 Endurance Ride and Intro Ride June 29 th, 2019 Two Mile Run County Park Franklin, Pa AERC ECTRA OAATS Sanctioned Trails: Trails are beautiful with rolling hills with some short climbs. Not mountainous. Some gravel crossings and dirt road but mostly good footing on single track trails. Some rocky sections. Plenty of water on trail. All holds will be in camp. The course will be marked with surveyor s tape, arrows, pie plates. Time: Base camp opens at 10am Friday. Vetting-Friday at 3ish until? Please let us know if you will be coming in late. 50 Mile Trail will open at 6:30 AM, 25 Mile trail will open at 7AM. Intro- TBD. Dinner at 7pm. Ride Briefing at 7:30pm. Camping: Camping is $10 per night/per rig. A separate check payable to Two Mile County Run Park must be presented upon arrival. NO RESERVATIONS. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Basecamp is a large flat field. No hookups. Horse water is available but please bring some if you can as we share one hydrant! No stalls are available on the grounds. No tying horses to trees or pens around trees. (the park will fine you!) Spread manure out or throw into the weeds, please do not put in piles. Please be aware of the NO HORSES signs as well as the NO PARKING signs posted around ride camp. The park we are using, takes very good care of their grounds. We want to keep them happy and leave the park as we found it! Details: Rock N Roll is AERC sanctioned and will be conducted according to all rules and regulations set out by AERC. Helmets are required when mounted. All horses entered in the 25LD or the 50, must be on the grounds Friday night. We will NOT do morning vet ins. Intro horses we would love for you to come and spend the night with us, we can do late vet ins Saturday morning, but would much rather do them Friday with everyone else. Awards: Top 10, first to finish for each distance (LD and 50), Best Condition will also be awarded in those distances. Completion awards will be awarded to all distances. If anyone would like to donate or sponsor an award, please let us know! Send any donations to Janet Brown, 160 Shearer Road Chicora, Pa Food: Potluck dinner will be held Friday before the ride at 7pm. Please bring a dish to share! Management will provide the meat. Saturday breakfast will be simple pastries and coffee. Saturday night dinner will be provided by a local caterer at 7pm. Extra Meal Tickets can be purchased through your entry. Volunteers will be fed all day!

2 Judges and Judging: In accordance with rules and regulations of AERC, it is the responsibility of all riders to know these rules. Rulebooks are available at aerc.org Farrier: Hoof Protection is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! We are working on getting a ride farrier. Trail Conduct: PLEASE BE CURTIOUS TO ANY PLEASURE RIDERS YOU MAY INCOUNTER! We want to be welcomed back! Riders should ask to pass only if safe to do so. Disqualification will occur if any rider is found riding anywhere other than the marked trail; the use of any drugs before, during or after the ride prior to final judging. See AERC handbook pertaining to disqualification. Any horse requiring treatment of any kind, or any horse that judges deem necessary to treat and the rider/owner refuses treatment, will be disqualified. Management retains the right to drug test. You are responsible for payment to the vet if any treatment is deemed necessary. Miscellaneous: No pleasure riding on trails during the ride except for drag riders. Dogs must always be on a leash. No dogs in hold or judging area. Riders should provide own buckets, feed and hay for the hold. ASTM/SEI approved hard are mandatory and must be used when mounted. NO BAREBACK RIDING. Intro Riders: Welcome! We will have a mini briefing for you and all New Riders Friday after our briefing to answer questions. Our vets will be there to help you and your horse. Don t hesitate to ask! Our Endurance Family is always willing to help! Refunds: Entries MUST include entry deposit of $25 or total amount, Negative Coggins, release form and Proof of Rabies. Cancellations anytime leading up to the ride, or if your horse does not pass pre-ride vet in, will be refunded less a $25 management fee. 3 RIDER / OWNER LIABILITY RELEASE: RIDER NAME: EQUINE NAME: EQUINE OWNER NAME: The Undersigned acknowledges that distance horseback riding is a sport which carries an inherent risk, which means a danger or condition that is an integral part of an equine activity, including, but not limited to, any of the following: (a) The propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, death, or loss to persons on or around the equine; (b) The unpredictability of an equine's reaction to sounds, sudden movements, unfamiliar objects, persons, motorized vehicles, or other animals; (c) Hazards, including, but not limited to, surface or subsurface conditions; (d) A collision with another equine, another animal, a person, or an object; (e) The potential of an equine activity participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury, death, or loss to the person of the participant or to other persons, including, but not limited to, failing to maintain control over an equine or failing to act within the ability of the participant. The Undersigned, in consideration of acceptance of his/her entry in this ride, does hereby for himself/herself, his/her heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release all ride personnel and the sanctioning Ride Organizations, their officers, and all individual members thereof, and all other persons, regardless of their capacity, in any way connected with this event, their representatives, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns for any and all right, claim or liability of any kind or nature the Undersigned might have. Further, the Undersigned does hereby acknowledge that said release will extend to any accidents, damages or claims arising out of his/her entry caused by his/her own acts or anyone or any animal within his/her control. The rider and/or equine owner agree that any horse pulled from the ride, for any reason, will see the treatment vet and be cleared to go home. If treatment is required, the rider and/or equine owner agree to pay-in-full the balance due prior to leaving the campground. If the equine requires treatment and the rider and/or owner are not available to make the decision for treatment (choose one option below by initialing on the line) the attending treatment vet has the authority to make the decision to treat the equine and all costs for treatment are the responsibility of the rider and/or the equine owner. the attending treatment vet cannot make the decision to treat the equine until the rider and/or owner can be located. 5 DO NOT use GPS to get to Base Camp Directions: Be sure to look at the route before departing. Signs will be posted on Turns into camp. We have reasons to bring you in from this direction. DO NOT TURN ON CHERRY TREE ROAD FROM 417! There is a very sharp turn, most rigs will not make it! From Interstate 80: From Interstate 80 take Exit 29 for Route 8 NORTH towards Franklin-Oil City Area/ Barkleyville Follow Route 8 NORTH for 16.3 miles into town of Franklin (will become 15 th street) Turn RIGHT onto LIBERTY ST and go 2 blocks to traffic light Turn LEFT onto 13 th St. In.5 miles turn RIGHT onto PA-417 NORTH Follow PA-417 NORTH for 6.3 miles (there will be a sign for Two Mile Run Park on your right) Turn RIGHT onto BAKER ROAD Turn RIGHT onto Cherry Tree Road Drive 1.2 miles and Turn LEFT onto LOCKWOOD LANE From the North Interstate 79: Take Exit 147A to merge onto US-19/US-322 Conneaut Lake Road toward Meadville. Follow signs for 322 EAST through town. Once turning onto Main Street follow US-322 East to Franklin for approximately 25 miles. Coming into Franklin you will be on Grant Street. At the end of Grant street, at the light you will make a slight left (sort of straight) to US-417 North. Follow PA-417 NORTH for 6.3 miles (there will be a sign for Two Mile Run Park on your right Turn RIGHT onto BAKER ROAD Turn RIGHT onto Cherry Tree Road Drive 1.2 miles and Turn LEFT onto LOCKWOOD LANE From the South: If you are coming from the south, 79 North is your best route. Take 79 North to Interstate 80 East to EXIT 29 for ROUTE 8 NORTH. Follow directions above from Interstate 80. Lockwood Lane is a private dirt and gravel lane. Prior to turning on the lane, look to see if anyone is coming out, there is a short distance when you first enter that doesn t allow room for passing on coming traffic. Please use caution and DRIVE SLOW!!!! Be courteous to neighbors!
