1 21 th Annual RAHA Rally Competitive Trail Ride NATRC Sanctioned A (2 Day) Open, Competitive Pleasure AND Novice! B (1 Day) Novice, and Competitive Pleasure Check-in September 30, 2016 Ride October 1-2, 2016 Ride Manager: Margie Insko (760) Ride Secretary: Bob Insko (760) ramonaaha@gmail.com The ride will be in the beautiful Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. We plan to camp in the Day Use Staging area at the end of Mercy Rd where it crosses Black Mountain Rd. No open fires or loose dogs permitted. Competitive Trail Riding is NOT A RACE. It is a timed and measured distance-riding event, similar to a Road Rally on Horseback. Horses of all breeds, including mules, are invited to compete in the NATRC sanctioned divisions of the RAHA Rally. See General Information for more information about First-Time Rider Discounts! Join us for a Pot-Luck dinner Friday evening before the Briefing! RAHA will provide drinks, hotchocolate, coffee, tea, plates and plastic-ware. Please bring a dish to share, something to sit on. Plan on a GREAT Saturday Dinner with us! Remember to sign up for Saturday Dinner with your entry. Vegetarian dinner available if requested in advance. All volunteers get free dinner, so bring those volunteers! Pre-entry is required. Entries close Monday, September 26, Enter on-line with RMS or mail entries to RAHA, 526 Brazos St, Ramona, CA Early entries appreciated! Water and other items that will be consumed on the ride will not be weighed. Lightweight thru 189 lbs Heavyweight lbs and over Junior: Age 10 thru 17. If 17 on January 1 of the current year, the entrant will ride as a Junior for the remainder of the ride year. 6 Statement of Rider and Liability must be signed for entry to be valid I wish to enter and participate in the RAHA Rally Competitive Trail Ride, to be held from September 30, 2016 and October 1-2, I HAVE READ the rules, conditions, and regulations of the event and will comply with them. I AGREE to abide by the rules of the North American Trail Ride Conference and the aforementioned ride. I UNDERSTAND that competitive riding involves being in remote areas for extended periods of time, far from communications, transportation, and medical facilities; that these areas have many natural and man made hazards which ride management cannot anticipate, identify, modify, or eliminate; that horses can be excitable, difficult to control and unpredictable; and that accidents can happen to anyone at any time. I AGREE to take full responsibility for myself and the animal I am riding. I will not sue or bring any claim against North American Trail Ride Conference, its officers and all individual members thereof, ride management, all ride personnel and all property owners over whose land the ride cross (hereafter NATRC and its informal affiliates), for any injury, accident or loss which arises out of this event, and will hold NATRC and its informal affiliates free from all liability for such injury or loss, even if such injury or loss arises from its own negligence. I further acknowledge that I have read and understands this state s equine activity liability act warning (if applicable), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein. I HEREBY CERTIFY that my horse is not under the influence of medication and will not be treated with or given any medication prohibited by NATRC rules. I HEREBY GIVE permission to the North American Trail Ride Conference or their duly appointed agent, to take any appropriate action deemed necessary to check for possible administration of drugs to my horse. Junior riders must wear an ASTM/SEI, Snell, or approved equal equestrian riding helmet at all times while mounted. Signature(s) below constitute acceptance of the above terms and conditions. I have read and understand this liability release. Rider s Signature: Signature of Horse Owner if different from rider: Printed: Junior Rider Permission to Ride I, the Parent/Guardian, understand and have signed the statement above. I do further authorize any officer, director or supervisory personnel of this ride to consent on my behalf to any emergency medical treatment by a properly licensed person which may be required for my child/ward, and do agree to indemnify and hold harmless any person giving such consent. Parent or Legal Guardian: Name of Responsible Adult for Junior: Birth Date of Junior: Equine Activity Warning I have noted the warning sign posted at the ride sign-in location and acknowledge the following: I waive all liability of NATRC and its affiliates for any loss, injury or damage which arises from the inherent risks of an equine activity. Inherent risks of an equine activity also means a danger or condition that is an integral part of an equine activity, including, but not limited to, any of the following: (a) Propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, death, or loss to persons on or around the equine; (b) The unpredictability of an equine s reaction to sounds, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, person, or other animals; (c) Hazards, including, but not limited to, surface or subsurface conditions; (d) A collision with another equine, another animal, a person, or an object; (e) The potential of an equine activity participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury, death, or loss to the person of the participant or to other persons, including but not limited to, failing to maintain control over an equine or failing to act within the ability of the participant.
