There will be a Dance Saturday night. Each rider will receive a magnet with logo at check in and be entered in a riders choice raffle at start of dance. +$25 if entry is not postmarked 30 days before ride. You do not need to be a member of AERC to enter. This is NOT a Endurance ride. This ride is not a competition of any kind. This is just a TRAIL ride, you may go as fast or slow as you like. No time limit. This AERC event is fundraising for CSHA State Endurance to purchase awards to be donated to the program. Endurance riders and trail riders are not on same trails at same time. RIDE CAMP AND TRAILS: There will be two course options. One will be 6 miles along the Mad river will no climbs or drop offs. The other option is 22 miles on the Ruth Hayfork Trail and will be a challenging technical back country trail. It is incredibly scenic and rustic. The Ruth Hayfork Trail is a historic trail used by natives and pioneers alike. There were no wagon roads in this area for far longer then elsewhere and only pack trains could bring in supplies. Livestock was also herded in and out on these trails, everything from cattle and sheep to geese and turkeys! Trails will be marked and you will also receive a map of the course. There is ample level camping for even the largest rig at Ruth Rodeo Grounds. There is water available. Very limited amount of corrals available for $35 for each horse for the weekend. Corrals must be left clean! Must reserve and prepay. Some corrals hold more then one horse and will only go to those that can corral more then one horse together. Free for 2019 AERC Ride Managers, 17 and under, law enforcement, firefighters, EMT, military active and retired Head Control Judge DVM Dan Chapman. Second Control Judge TBA MEALS: Potluck 7PM Friday. Tacos 7PM Saturday. There will be food and drinks at the out vet check. AWARDS: Completion will be a riders choice raffle, $50 Hought Tack Certificate for 1st, BC, Turtle. Special awards for Juniors. RIDE CAMP and TRAILS: Ride camp is at the beautiful Ruth Rodeo Grounds. Large meadow with green grass and wildflowers. 4 hook ups available first come first serve no extra charge. The ride goes along and in both Mad River the South Fork of the Trinity River. There is a mix of single track and forest service roads. Good footing and rocky places. There are narrow spots with drop offs. Plenty of water. There is a bridge of good length and height to go over on the South Fork River trail. Trail has a couple tough long climbs with several thousand feet of elevation gain and and loss, but is doable for a fit horse in the time allowed even for turtles. There is a 1 hour hold and out vet check at 30 miles along the South Fork Trinity River. DIRECTIONS TO RUTH RODEO GROUNDS: From the Coast/Hwy 101:Head to Fortuna on Hwy 101. Just past Fortuna (if coming from the North), or Just before Fortuna (if coming from the South) is the Hwy 36turnoff. Drive East through Hydsville, Carlotta, Bridgeville and Dinsmore. You'll go through the valley, then pass the Forest Service on the left and head up the hill. Go down the hill and you'll go through Mad River (a post office, bar, burger joint, and butcher, all in one spot, and if you blink you will miss it!). Cross over the bridge, and 1/2 mile after Mad River you take a right turn On Mad River Road towards Ruth / Ruth Lake.

3 Follow Mad River Road aprox. 17 miles, and take a sharp right turn after the Ruth Zenia Sign. Cross bridge and immediately turn left and follow paved road and signs into Ruth Rodeo Grounds. From the Central Valley/I-5: Head to Red Bluff on I-5 and head west on Hwy 36. Past Platina, Wildwood and Forest Glen, and over South Fork Mountain until you reach the turnoff, Mad River Road, towards Ruth / Ruth Lake. Turn left, and follow description above from Mad River Road.

4 AERC La Grange Ditch 50 & Weaver Basin Express Rider Limit. Entry fee $100. Entry includes Camping, Potluck Friday, Two Control Judges, Treatment Vet on site (cost incurred for treatment with vet it owners responsibility to pay) AERC and Ca Drug Fees, Completion award. +$25 if entry postmarked after 30 days before the ride Free for 2019 AERC Ride Managers, 17 and under, law enforcement, firefighters, EMT, military active and retired. AWARDS: Completions, Awards in all distances 1st, BC, and Turtle award for slowest time. and special awards for Juniors. MEALS: Fruit and Drinks on the trail. Potluck Friday 7PM. There are restaurants for Saturday just 3 miles away. We can watch your horses. RIDE CAMP AND TRAILS: Ride camp was built by us with cooperation of USDA Forest Service in 2014, the first year we held this ride. The dust has settled but it is still a primitive camp. It is on a wooded ridge on what we call Trinity County Flat. If you have a extra large rig, let us know so we can park you up front. Water is all trucked in and there are many water troughs about camp. Please bring as much water with you as you can to help us keep up with demand. Course is Moderate Single track on 95% of the 50, 99% on the 25. Views abound. There are technical single tracks with drops offs, twists and turns and bridges, creek crossings, knee knockers and low limbs and eye jabbers. We do notice and care about cleaning out the low Lomb s and eye jabbers and clearance is improving, though some low limbs are considered features by Bicyclists and Hikers so look for caution tape and slow down when you see it. The footing is great on most the trails...there is rock here and there. The course does not have extreme elevation changes. We work hard on course design to keep you in the shade during the heat of the day. There is natural water as well as in troughs for drinking and tubs to sponge out of. Sponging water is cooled with ice if necessary. Water is available on the course every five miles or less. DIRECTIONS: Ride camp is located on Forest Service Road 34N95 off Highway 3 North of Weaverville CA. From Interstate 5 at Redding CA go west on 299 toward Eureka and Weaverville. After passing through most of Weaverville you will enter the historic district and turn right into Highway 3 North toward Yreka. Approximately 3 miles

5 up Highway 3 Past the Airport and at the end of a sweeping turn you will turn left onto a gravel Forest Service Road 34N95. Ride camp is on the right less then a mile up the gravel road. From 101 take 299 east and enter Weaverville and Highway 3 is the second left after the Court House Full Refund Policy is on the ride entry. Rider entry fees for all our events above are calculated to just cover cost of putting on each event which includes but is not limited to permits, vets, ride completions and awards, water hauling, aerc fees, Ca drug fees, fuel, trail marking supplies, food, drinks, facilities etc...and providing a average of 10 or more free entries for our hardworking AERC Ride Managers, Juniors, Firefighters, Military and Law Enforcement annually. Event income is also used to purchase awards for the CSHA State Endurance program. Because of set expenses and our small rider limits and the unlimited free entries for kids and heroes our refund policy is stiff but when you get to the point where it's 50% refund or no refund remember we will still honor your entry for a future ride, no time limit. Thank you to those that have donated to cover a entry for a kid or a hero and those that have canceled that have donated their entry back. We feel it is very important to help families share this sport with their kids and for our first responder and military heroes to be honored. We have been doing this for five years and parents and the kids and heroes have expressed their gratitude to us over and over. 6 Rules: Sponge from sponge buckets or natural water, do not sponge from water troughs. Do not put anything in water troughs like feed. Scooping is ok. Dogs on leash please and clean up after your dog. No trash in porta potties. No abuse of equines. No abuse or arguing with management or volunteers or other riders by rider or crew No fires, camp stoves and BBQs OK. 17 and under must wear helmets at all times while in horseback in camp or on trail. Don t litter. Don t smoke on trail. Use caution when smoking in camp and be courteous of non smokers. Stay on trail. Allow others to pass you when safe to do so. Do not pass anyone without letting them know you are there and wait until they can safety pull aside. Be courteous to other public trail users. Do not leave others at water stops with out asking if it s OK to ride off. Riding off can make a horse that is drinking well stop drinking. Walk your horse across the paved roads. Do not dump your grey or black water from a RV in our ride camps. No running generator between 10pm and 4am. In Weaverville Ride camp use visibly weed free feed and use hay bags, hay nets, or other off the ground feeder. At South Fork Trinity River 50 use visibly weed free hay and keep hay and feed on tarps at out vet check. Clean up and place all feed and manure and place where instructed. Leave no trace! Endurance Ride in Weaverville, including the LD starts at 5:30 am. The Endurance ride in Ruth starts at 6 am and Trail Ride starts at 8am and all riders need to be on the trails within a half hour of start times. All riders must check in by Friday before they ride Saturday and come to the mandatory rider meeting Friday evening. (Meeting time will be posted at check in location). If you you must come in late on Friday please contact management and we will do a late check in and go over meeting information with you. Additional rules and guidelines may be given verbally by management. Things can change. All AERC Rules apply. Violation of rules is grounds for forfeiting ride entry. These AERC Events are held under special use permit from USDA Shasta Trinity National Forest and Six Rivers National Forest
