Banquet season is upon us and on Saturday, November 26th, at the Brantford Best Western, we will be gathering to honour the net results of this past year.

1 A Message from the President Our Appaloosa show season is complete in Ontario and the Worlds have come to an end in Texas. Congratulations to every Appaloosa Show participant in 2011, you have all earned high praise for dedication, determination and participation. Banquet season is upon us and on Saturday, November 26th, at the Brantford Best Western, we will be gathering to honour the net results of this past year. There was no lack of opportunity in Ontario with venues hosting a total of 9 Judges presented on 4 weekends for OAHA pointed events. Fee Waivers, great fundraising initiatives, exceptional sponsorship and attention to details have ensured that we all enjoy outstanding events, while keeping them accessible. As a part of the Banquet celebration, earlier in the day, the OAHA will also be hosting the Annual General Meeting. We have some interesting business and fresh new ideas coming forward as well as elections. Member participation and involvement would be greatly appreciated. The AGM starts at 5:00 pm. For further details, tickets or information, please feel free to contact any of the OAHA Directors. Lantz A Message from the Vice President Our 2011 season is almost at an end, but we ve been working on 2012 to make it even more exciting with talks of new events at our shows and educational clinics with topics of interest for all members. Of course, we want your voice on this matter and would love to hear some feedback. We need to hear from you so that we can plan wisely for 2012, so that all members can have an opportunity to advance themselves in their disciplines, so please contact us with your ideas! In regards to sponsorship, we ve had a great response from our sponsors this fall and it looks like we re going to have some outstanding prizes and silent auction items for the banquet. You must purchase and have paid for a banquet ticket to the 2011 OAHA Awards Banquet prior to or on the day of the banquet. To receive ballots for the Western Headstall: Each entrant will receive one (1) ballot per judge for each ApHC class entered and shown at any of the following 2011 shows: The Spotted Experience, Gold Rush Classic and/or Spot to Be Provincial Appaloosa Championships. Each entrant will received one (1) ballot for each Open All Breed class entered and shown at The Spotted Experience and/or Gold Rush Classic shows. Other information: Ballots cannot be purchased, so the only way to receive more ballots is to enter/shown in more classes. Ballots will be given to the owner of the horse for Open classes & the exhibitor for designated classes (i.e. Youth & Non-Pro classes), unless otherwise arranged with the OAHA directors. We are looking for feedback and suggestions from the membership to ensure an event is planned that will appeal to as many possible and ensure a great turnout and support. Is there a specific person/trainer you would like to see do a clinic? Are you looking at an all-round type clinic? What topics would you like covered? If we are working towards early- to mid-april, what dates/weekends would suit you? Is there a preference to a location/facility? Would you prefer a 1-day or a 2-day clinic? What price point would you be willing to spend on a clinic? Would you prefer a stall while attending the clinic? Would you like a lunch provided? Would coffee/tea snacks be of interest? This is all in the early works. It would be fantastic to bring up a big name from the states and give everyone the opportunity to learn from a Multiple World champion but there needs to be lots of support in attendance to keep the price very affordable. 4 HORSES FOR SALE 2009 WESTERN PLEASURE PALOMINO MARE Due to owner s health, MIGHTY RADICAL MISS (aka Sooner) is for sale after 120 days of Western Pleasure training at Heeley Pleasure Horses. As a 2010 OAHA High Point Longe Liner, this 15.3 hand, 2009 palomino was first under all 10 judges in Syracuse, NY, Lindsay, ON, and at the Ontario Provincial Championships at Bethany. With multiple world champions on both sides, she is by RADICAL REVOLUTION ( AQHA World Champion WP & best moving horse at the walk, jog, and lope. Sooner is out of MIGHTY AWESOME MISS, a full sister to MIGHTY AWESOME MR, and her pedigree includes World Champion OUGHTA BE AWESOME, AN AWESOME MR, PRINCE PLAUDIT, MIGHTY BRIGHT and KING PLAUDIT. A spectacular mover like her sire, Sooner will easily reach 16 hands. She is eligible for both ApPHA Mare Incentive and World Sale Incentive classes at the 2011 World Show in Fort Worth. She s going to be a great all rounder like Mighty Awesome Mr. $5,000 GREAT ALL ROUNDER 2 YR OLD MARE MIGHTY MIRACLE CHIP is going to be a great all rounder and youth horse, one of those rare 2 year olds everyone hopes to breed. Gorgeous brown with just a dusting of color on her quarters, she s very pretty, built and has presence and personality. Standing 14.3hh at 24 months, she s going to mature into one handsome horse. Bella had 30 days on her at Heeley Pleasure Horses and they were sad to see her go home. She s totally unflappable, has already been on the road, backs, turns, learning her transitions, picks up something new every day and is heading for competitive trail if somebody doesn t snap her up first. Great to work with and around and an easy keeper too. She shares her dam, KINGS HONEY TWIST, with MIGHTY AWESOME MR., ApHC all rounder and perennial Top 10 in a handful of classes, with four Registers of Merit and hundreds of points. Bella s got breeding that shows in her correct conformation. Her sire is ALL EYES ON CHIP, son of TERRIFIC CHIP and grandson of THE MIRACLE CHIP, while on the bottom his dam was KJB EASY ON THE EYES, a MR. CONCLUSION mare. I m working with her daily, on a loose rein from Day One, and every time out she amazes me. If she doesn t sell I won t be crying. This is one great horse that could take you anywhere. $2,500 but the longer I work with her, the more she s worth.
