It doesn't matter if you are watching the event on your mobile phone or laptop, the Futurity can be viewed on any device providing you have reasonable internet access. There will be the opportunity for you to buy the recording of each horse s assessment. Equine Bridge: BEF will run the Equine Bridge for 2017 and the dates of the assessments have been notified to owners whose horses attained a qualifying score as three year olds Futurity horses at last year s evaluations. Horses will continue to be supported by the Society of Master Saddlers (SMS) and Baileys Horse Feeds who will offer guidance and advice to all those who take part, as well as vouchers to be used for saddle and bridle fitting carried out by approved SMS saddlers. A crucial change to the programme for 2017 is that there is no longer any voucher funding for Equine Bridge horses to be supported with coaching and remedial treatment as has been the case for the last three years. This is regrettable, and is a result of BEF funding changes. British Equestrian Federation invites expressions of interest in taking over its British-bred equine development initiatives: The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) invites expressions of interest from organisations or individuals who might take over the programme currently run in support of identification of British-bred equine talent and the promotion of British bred-successes. This programme includes the Futurity; the Equine Bridge; the British Breeder magazine and the British Stallion Event. Futurity (run by British Breeding*, and supported by BEF) identifies talented young horses and ponies from foals to three-year-olds and has evaluated up to 900 horses per year at numerous regional venues, with a vet and panel of assessors providing useful and impartial information for their breeders at a series of live streamed events. The Equine Bridge takes those three-year-olds that have achieved a threshold score in Futurity and invites them for a further assessment under saddle as fouryear-olds. Those accepted on to the Bridge enjoy the kudos of this recognition and have received practical support from BEF and professional organisation partners.

10 The British Breeder magazine is published three times-a-year and is available by subscription as well as at key equestrian events such as Badminton, Burghley, the British Stallion Event and Futurity. It reaches a dedicated audience of 2000 breeders and is a leader in its market. The British Stallion Event is run in January each year and is a one stop shop for the British breeding community, welcoming 60 stallions approved by leading studbooks, 30 trade stands and 800 viewers. It is the UK s leading event for selecting stallions for the coming season. All sires can be seen in arena demonstrations as well as face-to-face in their stables. Expressions of interest in BEF s equine development programmes should be received in writing by Monday 4 September Informal discussions before this deadline are welcome. Important Notice: Futurity Code of Conduct / Terms and Conditions Attendance at Futurity Events whether as an exhibitor, representative, associate or a spectator is expressly subject to acceptance of this Futurity Code of Conduct/Terms and Conditions, the rules and regulations of British Breeding in respect of the relevant Event and the rules and regulations of the Futurity Event venue. The Futurity is a showcase of the best of British equine breeding. It is designed to benefit not only individual entrants but also the reputation of British equine breeding as a whole. British Breeding expects all exhibitors, representatives, associates and spectators to conduct themselves in a proper manner, to ensure that this reputation is upheld, that horses are properly taken care of throughout the event and that those attending benefit from a positive experience in the true spirit of fair competition and are not placed in danger. Permission to enter or remain within the Futurity Event venue is at the absolute discretion of British Breeding, Futurity Event staff and authorised officials.

11 Exhibitor Conduct exhibitors have a duty both to their horses and to others to make licensed events friendly and welcoming, and are expected to be cooperative and above all create a safe environment for all to enjoy their time at licensed events. Sportsmanship exhibitors, representatives, associates and spectators should conduct themselves at all times in an appropriate manner and should display good manners and respect towards other participants, and show officials. Abusive or aggressive behaviour - Threatening, abusive, aggressive or violent behaviour and foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden towards anyone at the Event including vets, evaluators exhibitors, spectators, other participants, event management or other officials and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Harassment - No-one should be subject to intimidation or made to feel alarmed or distressed or put in fear of reprisal. Harassment may be defined as causing alarm, distress and anxiety, fear of physical violence or other threat, offensive statements, verbal abuse and threats. As such conduct may involve a criminal offence the police may be involved and it may be that the Futurity will delay any action pending the outcome of such investigation and/or prosecution. Mobile phones Exhibitors, representatives, associates and spectators must ensure that mobile phones are used discreetly Photography- Photography is only permitted from the ringside and for personal not commercial use. Flash photography is not permitted. Children Responsibility for children remains with the parent or guardian. They must supervise children at all times. Dogs - Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Some venues may prohibit dogs from certain parts or all of their facilities. Right to eject British Breeding reserves absolutely the right to eject from the Futurity Event any individual failing to comply with this Futurity Code of Conduct/Terms and Conditions or whose presence at the Event could reasonably construed as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to any other person. This could lead to further action including, but not limited to, a ban from attending future Futurity Events unless the individual in question signs an acceptable behaviour agreement or a complete ban from future Futurity Events. Exclusion of liability British Breeding excludes to the maximum extent permitted by any law any liability for loss, injury or damage to persons/property in or around the Futurity Event venue. EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE OR THAT OF OUR CONTRACTORS OR VOLUNTEERS OR DATA SUPPLIERS AND EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION:IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE TO YOU OR TO ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY, IN ANY MANNER (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) FOR LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING AT OR IN CONNECTION WITH A FUTURITY EVENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DIRECT, INDIRECT, ACTUAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOST INCOME, REVENUE OR PROFITS, LOST OR DAMAGED PROPERTY OR DATA, OR OTHER COMMERCIAL OR ECONOMIC LOSS.
