Please provide information on the number of speeding tickets issued within the London Borough of Hackney over the last 3 calendar years. The data is to be split into years, location, type of contravention (30mph / 20mph) and how the offence was captured (speed camera / patrol vehicle / hand held speed gun). 2. The speed limit on all the main roads under the Council s control is now 20mph and we understand the Police are reviewing the trigger speeds of all speed cameras in Hackney. Please provide the location of speed cameras in the borough of Hackney and the current trigger speed at which a penalty charge notice would be issued. DECISION I have today decided to disclose some of the requested information. Some data has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure and therefore this response serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) and under section 31(1)a&b of the act law enforcement & section 38 to endanger the physical or mental health of any individual or endanger the safety or any individual. REASONS FOR DECISION I would like to explain that any information disclosed under the Freedom of Information Act is also published on our website at In light of this the decisions taken when considering disclosure under FOI relate to whether the information is suitable for open publication or not. In this case the exemption provided under section 31 of the Act has been applied to the 'trigger speeds' of the cameras in Hackney. This is because disclosure of that information would prejudice law enforcement - specifically the prevention and detection of crime as well as the prosecution of offenders. In addition to this I have also applied the health and safety exemption (section 38) as disclosure would put the health of members of the public at risk.

2 DISCLOSURE Please see the attached disclosure. Please note the activations data (trigger speeds) is exempt from disclosure. In respect of your request for how the offence was captured, we are able to provide the data broken down into camera activations (from static safety cameras) and offences captured by way of a Traffic Offence Report (TOR). To clarify a TOR would be issued for all offences that are not recorded by a static camera, we are not able to further break this down to identify whether a hand held speed gun was used or not.
